Today, we will be learning the usage of the preposition "through".

امروز، ما استفاده از حرف اضافه "از طریق" را یاد خواهیم گرفت.

A train will be passing through this flyover Bridge.

قطاری از روی این پل هوایی عبور خواهد کرد .

Here, I used the preposition "through".

در اینجا از حرف اضافه "از طریق" استفاده کردم.

Through?

از طریق؟

Why is the preposition "through" used here?

چرا در اینجا از حرف اضافه "از طریق" استفاده می شود؟

Because "through" is used to show the movement from one end of something to the other.

زیرا "از طریق" برای نشان دادن حرکت از یک سر چیزی به سر دیگر استفاده می شود.

Generally, this something should be enclosed.

به طور کلی، این چیزی باید محصور شود. در

Here in the case of this, something is nothing but this flyover Bridge means it has length,

width and height, so I used the preposition "through" means it should enter from one side

See, now, I will be walking through the room.

I walked through the room.

For example, I said a train will be passing through this flyover Bridge.

مثلاً گفتم قطاری از این پل هوایی عبور می کند.

Why did I use preposition through here? Because this bridge is three-dimensional means it

has length, width, and height and this train is passing from one side of the bridge to

Now, I will be walking through this flyover bridge.

That is a foot-over bridge.

این یک پل پیاده روی است.

I am walking through this foot-over Bridge.

من از این پل پیاده روی می کنم.

If a room has one door and I enter that door, I would say I walked through the door.

اگر اتاقی یک در داشته باشد و من وارد آن در شوم، می گویم از در گذشتم.

For example, I have bought a new sofa but the width of the sofa is greater than the

Why did I use preposition through here?

Because this tunnel has three-dimensional shape means it has length, width, and height

and I will be going from one side of this tunnel to the other side of the tunnel.

و من از یک طرف این تونل به طرف دیگر تونل خواهم رفت.

So, that's the reason, I used preposition through and I said I will be walking through this

Some processes such as Security check at the mall, at the airport, and immigration at the

airport or anywhere else, for such processes, we use the preposition "through".

"Through" For example, I will be going through the security check. Now, I'm at the security

I will be going through the woods.

This is a wood, not a forest.

اینجا یک جنگل است نه جنگل.

What is wood?

چوب چیست؟

Wood means a stick.

چوب به معنی چوب است.

Wood also has another meaning, but what is that meaning?

چوب نیز معنای دیگری دارد، اما آن معنی چیست؟

Wood is like Forest but it is smaller in size.

چوب مانند جنگل است اما اندازه آن کوچکتر است.

Wood is similar to a forest but smaller in size compared to the forest.

چوب شبیه به جنگل است اما از نظر اندازه کوچکتر از جنگل است.

So, that's the reason I said I will be going through the woods.

بنابراین، به همین دلیل است که گفتم از طریق جنگل خواهم رفت.

If it is a forest, I would say I will be going through the forest.

اگر جنگل باشد، می گویم از جنگل می گذرم .

Through?

از طریق؟

Why did I use the preposition "through" here?

چرا از حرف اضافه "از طریق" در اینجا استفاده کردم؟

The reason is that this forest or I would say this wood has length, width, and height.

دلیلش این است که این جنگل یا به عبارتی این چوب دارای طول و عرض و ارتفاع است.

The trees are nothing but height.

درختان چیزی جز ارتفاع نیستند.

So, that's the reason I said I will be going through the woods.

بنابراین، به همین دلیل است که گفتم از طریق جنگل خواهم رفت.

This is a forest.

اینجا یک جنگل است.

So, I would say I am walking through the forest.

بنابراین، من می گویم که در جنگل قدم می زنم.

I cannot say I am walking across the forest.

نمی توانم بگویم که در جنگل قدم می زنم.

"Across" is used while crossing something two-dimensional.

"در سراسر" هنگام عبور از چیزی دو بعدی استفاده می شود.

For example, I will be walking across this road.

به عنوان مثال، من در این جاده پیاده خواهم رفت .

This road is two-dimensional means it has length, and width, not height.

این جاده دو بعدی است به این معنی که طول دارد و عرض دارد نه ارتفاع.

I am walking across this road.

من از این جاده عبور می کنم.

I walked across this road.

I walk through the gangway to board the airplane.

از باند عبور می کنم تا سوار هواپیما شوم.

So, friends, this bridge which connects the airport terminal to the airplane is called

So, let's walk through the gangway.

Gangway is an enclosed thing and it is three-dimensional means it has length, width, and height.

So, that's the reason I used preposition through.

If I walk like this, I would say I am walking across the grass.

I walked across the grass.

Why is the preposition "across" used here?

چرا از حرف اضافه "در سراسر" در اینجا استفاده می شود؟

The preposition "across" is used here because the height of the grass is insignificant compared

to my height.

So that's the reason the preposition "across" is used.

But if an insect or an animal like rat walks through this grass, I would use the preposition

Take the example of a rat.

The height of the snake is insignificant compared to the height of the grass.

So, that's the reason the preposition "through" is used.

بنابراین، دلیل استفاده از حرف اضافه "از طریق" به همین دلیل است .

Blood passes through the heart.

خون از قلب عبور می کند.

Why is the preposition "through" used?

چرا از حرف اضافه "از طریق" استفاده می شود؟

Because blood is passing from one end of the heart to another end of the heart.

زیرا خون از یک سر قلب به انتهای دیگر قلب در حال عبور است.

So, that's the reason the preposition "through" is used.

بنابراین، دلیل استفاده از حرف اضافه "از طریق" به همین دلیل است .

This preposition through reminded me of an idiom.

این حرف اضافه من را به یاد یک اصطلاح می انداخت.

But what is that idiom?

اما آن اصطلاح چیست؟

The idiom is "Through thick and thin" and it means if someone supports you or stays

اصطلاح "Through thick and thin" است و به این معنی است که اگر کسی از شما حمایت می کند یا

with you even though there are problems or difficulties then that person supports you

با شما می ماند حتی اگر مشکلات یا مشکلاتی وجود داشته باشد، آن شخص از شما حمایت می کند

through thick and thin.

For example, she has stuck with me through thick and thin.

Because this playground is two-dimensional means it has length, width, but it does not

ارتفاع ندارد.

So, that's the reason I used the preposition "across" in this sentence.

بنابراین، به همین دلیل است که من از حرف اضافه "در سراسر" در این جمله استفاده کردم.

See, I am walking across this playground.

ببینید، من در این زمین بازی قدم می زنم.

This playground is a bit large.

این زمین بازی کمی بزرگ است.

I walked across this playground means I walked from that side of the playground to this side

من در این زمین بازی قدم زدم یعنی از آن طرف زمین بازی به این طرف

of the playground and this playground is two-dimensional means it has length, and width, not height.

زمین بازی رفتم و این زمین بازی دو بعدی است یعنی طول دارد و عرض دارد نه ارتفاع.

So, that's the reason I used the preposition "across,"

بنابراین، به همین دلیل است که من از حرف اضافه "در سراسر" استفاده کردم،

not "through".

نه "از طریق".

Here, what I want to show is that these vehicles are passing through the bridge.
