Yes, is to be certain.

Sí, es para estar seguro.

You are sure.

Estás seguro.

You know that thing is real.

Sabes que eso es real.

You are positive that you are correct.

Estás seguro de que tienes razón.

To agree with something normally means ‘yes, I agree with you’.

Estar de acuerdo con algo normalmente significa "sí, estoy de acuerdo contigo".

‘Yes, you are right’.

'Sí, tiene usted razón'.

‘Yes it is true’.

'Si es cierto'.

If you want to show that you agree with something, you will say ‘yes’.

Si quieres demostrar que estás de acuerdo con algo, dirás "sí".

To allow something to happen also means ‘yes’.

Permitir que algo suceda también significa "sí".

You agree to do something.

Aceptas hacer algo.

You agree to allow something.

Aceptas permitir algo.

You express the affirmative.

Expresas lo afirmativo.

You say ‘yes’.

Tu dices si'.

If you want to express the feeling of being unsure,

or uncertain about something, then you will say, ‘maybe’.

You don't know. You are unsure.

No lo sabes. No estás seguro.

You don't have all the information,

No tienes toda la información,

so it is hard to make a clear choice.

Something might happen, or it might not.

Maybe it will.

Maybe it won't.

We can also use ‘perhaps’ as a way of expressing uncertainty.

También podemos utilizar "quizás" como forma de expresar incertidumbre.

I might, I might not, perhaps I will, perhaps I won’t.

Quizás lo haga, quizás no, quizás lo haga, quizás no lo haga.

‘Unsureness’ can be described as a ‘Grey area’.

La "inseguridad" puede describirse como una "zona gris".

To give a definite answer, expressing the negative of ‘yes’, we will say ‘no’.

Para dar una respuesta definitiva, expresando la negativa de "sí", diremos "no".

To disagree or decline an offer, often means ‘no’.

No estar de acuerdo o rechazar una oferta a menudo significa "no".

You don't want something, or you will not allow something to happen.

‘No’ is always the negative.

To refuse something is to say ‘no’.

To express disbelief can be shown by saying ‘no way’ .

‘Yes’ is positive.

It shows agreement and sureness.
