Learn the English Phrases REALLY SOMETHING and SOMETHING ELSE

I wanted to help you learn the English phrase.

나는 당신이 영어 구를 배우는 것을 돕고 싶었습니다.

Really something.

정말 뭔가.

When you say that something is really something

무언가가 정말 무언가라고 말할 때

it means that it is amazing or that it was amazing.

그것은 그것이 놀랍 거나 놀랍다는 것을 의미합니다.

Let's imagine that you went and watched a soccer game

당신이 축구 경기

or a football game, and it was an amazing game.

나 축구 경기를 보러 갔다고 상상해 봅시다. 그리고 그것은 놀라운 경기였습니다.

You could say that game was really something.

게임이 정말 대단하다고 말할 수 있습니다.

It simply means that you were in awe that you were impressed

단순히

that you had a great time watching the game

because the players played so well.

선수들이 너무 잘해서 경기를 보면서 즐거운 시간을 보냈다는 것에 감동을 받아 경외감을 느꼈다는 뜻입니다.

So you would say, wow, that game was really something.

그래서 당신은 와우, 그 게임은 정말 대단하다고 말할 것입니다.

That goal was really something.

그 목표는 정말로 무언가였습니다.

That guy is really something.

그 사람은 정말 뭔가입니다.

So when you say something is really something

그래서 당신이 무언가가 정말 무언가라고 말할 때

it just means it's amazing.

그것은 단지 그것이 놀랍다는 것을 의미합니다.

And sometimes we don't say the ing part

그리고 때때로 우리는 ing 부분을 말하지 않고

we just say something.

So you could say, wow, that game was really something.

That guy is really something.

The other phrase I wanted to teach you today

is the phrase something else

which means exactly the same as really something.

So using the same examples again

따라서 동일한 예를 다시 사용하면

you could say that game was something else.

게임이 다른 것이라고 말할 수 있습니다.

That guy is an amazing player.

그 사람은 놀라운 선수입니다.

He is something else.

그는 다른 것입니다.

That goal that he scored was something else.

그가 넣은 골은 다른 것이었다.

So once again

그래서 다시 한 번

when you say that something is something else

당신이 무언가가 다른 것이라고 말할 때

it simply means that it is amazing.

그것은 단순히 그것이 놀랍다는 것을 의미합니다.

And then once again

그리고 다시 한 번

you probably heard me say it a few times.

당신은 아마 내가 몇 번 말하는 것을 들었을 것입니다.

I say something else.

나는 다른 것을 말한다.

That was something else.

So something else is the proper way to pronounce it.

But generally when I say it quickly

I say something like that game was something else.

That lesson that Bob did the other day

So to review

when you say something is really something like if you say,

oh, that car is really something that brand new Ford Mustang

that car is really something.

It means that it's amazing

and if you were to say that Ford Mustang is something else

Ford Mustang이 다른 것이라고 말하면

it means also that it's really amazing.

from my last video where I set a slightly bad word.

I am not someone who swears regularly in real life

제가 실생활에서 욕을 자주 하는 편은 아니지만

but every once in a while, I do say a bad word.

가끔 나쁜 말을 합니다.

Sometimes they just come out.

그냥 나오는 경우도 있습니다.

We always say in English, some people don't swear

우리는 항상 영어로 어떤 사람들은 실수로 망치로 엄지손가락을 치기 전까지는 맹세하지 않는다고 말합니다

until they hit their, their thumb with a hammer by accident.

A lot of times when you are working with a hammer and nail,

망치와 못으로 작업을 하다 보면

you accidentally hit your thumb.

실수로 엄지손가락을 부딪히는 경우가 많습니다.

And I think most people in the world at that point in time

그리고 그 시점에서 세상의 대부분의 사람들이

say some kind of bad word.

어떤 나쁜 말을 한다고 생각합니다.

Maybe it's a very mild bad word, but people do

아주 가벼운 욕일 수도 있지만 , 사람들은

when they hurt themselves

자신을 다치게 할 때나

or apparently with me when it starts raining.

분명히 비가 내리기 시작할 때 나와 함께 합니다.

We, we do say bad words every once in a while.

우리는 가끔 나쁜 말을 합니다 .

It is a beautiful fall day here in Canada.

캐나다의 아름다운 가을날입니다.

Again as I was saying the weather is unpredictable right now

다시 말하지만 지금 날씨는 예측할 수 없습니다.

when something is unpredictable

무언가를 예측할 수 없다는 것은

it simply means you can't predict it.

단순히 예측할 수 없다는 것을 의미합니다.

So even today it said it wasn't going to rain,

그래서 오늘도 비가 안온다고 하더니

but right now it is actually cloudy out

지금은 구름이 끼고

and earlier it started raining.

일찍 비가 내리기 시작했습니다.

A friend of mine came on his bike today

오늘 내 친구가 자전거를 타고 왔고

and we were standing outside socially distanced of course

우리는 물론 사회적으로 거리를 두고 밖에 서서

talking and then suddenly it just started to rain.

이야기를 하고 있었는데 갑자기 비가 내리기 시작했습니다.

And it wasn't really supposed to rain

그리고

that much today at all, if at all.

오늘은 그렇게 많이 비가 내리지 않을 것 같았습니다.

So it was a little bit surprising for us.

그래서 우리는 조금 놀랐습니다.
