Learn the English Terms UNDERHANDED and HANDS DOWN

In this English lesson I wanted to help you

learn the English term that's underhanded.

This is a phrase we would use

to describe something that's kind of sneaky,

교활하고

maybe even a little bit illegal.

When something is underhanded,

underhanded는 어떤

it means someone's doing something

사람이 무언가를 성취하기 위해 해서는 안 되는 일을 하고 있음을 의미합니다

they're not supposed to do, in order to achieve something.

Here's a great example.

여기에 좋은 예가 있습니다.

If a politician is in an election,

정치인이 선거에 나가고,

if they are running for office,

공직에 출마하고,

and if they were to pay people to vote for them,

투표를 위해 사람들에게 돈을 지불한다면,

you would probably say that's underhanded.

Basically, when you have an election,

people are supposed to freely go out

and vote for who they think is the best person for the job.

The other phrase I wanted to teach you today

When you say something is, well, here's the example.

If I was to say, "These are the best cookies

I've ever eaten, hands down," it means like decisively.

It means like for sure.

If you are a fan of a sports team,

You would then say that that team won hands down.

So it means like decisively, that there's a clear winner.

It means that they for sure accomplished

When you describe something by saying "that's underhanded,"

"that's underhanded"라고 말하는 것은

you're basically saying that's illegal or that's wrong,

or someone isn't playing by the rules.

So I don't talk about my appearance very much,

When you say in English

that you're gonna grow your hair out,

영어로

you're gonna grow your hair out이라고 하면

it means that you're gonna go from having shorter hair

to having longer hair.

긴 머리로 갈 것이라는 의미입니다.

But I just can't see myself doing it.

I don't know if I could have this flowing mane of gray hair,
