Learn the English Phrases SPOILED BRAT and ROTTEN APPLE - An English Lesson with Subtitles

In this English lesson I wanted to help you learn

the English term, spoiled brat.

버릇없는 녀석이라는 영어 용어를 배우는 것을 돕고 싶었습니다.

A spoiled brat is a child

버릇없는 녀석은

who gets everything they want all the time.

항상 원하는 모든 것을 얻는 아이입니다.

So you probably know families like this,

where the parents have lots of money

and whenever the child wants something, they get it.

Maybe the child has a birthday coming up

and they want a really, really expensive gift,

And if their parents buy them that gift,

for their child, you might call that child a spoiled brat.

It usually also refers a little bit to their behavior.

When a child is a spoiled brat,

아이가 버릇없는 녀석일 때,

they're used to always getting what they want

and they get really upset when they don't get

what they want in life.

So a spoiled brat is a child who gets everything they want,

The other phrase I wanted to teach you today

is the phrase, rotten apple.

Technically a term, not a phrase,

기술적으로는 용어이지 문구가 아니지만

but the term rotten apple refers to someone

썩은 사과라는 용어는 좋지 않은 사람을 가리킵니다

who's not a good person.

So you might have friends of your family,

그래서 가족 중에 친구가 있을 수도 있고,

maybe they have five children

그들에게 다섯 명의 자녀가 있을 수도

and one of those kids is not a good person.

They are regularly getting in trouble.

They get in trouble at school,

We would say that that person is a rotten apple,

because a rotten apple tends to make other apples rotten.

So if you know a person who is a rotten apple,

they are a bad person, they do bad things,

So anyways, a spoiled brat is a rich, sorry,

is a child of rich people who gets everything they want

all the time,

and a rotten apple is a person who does bad things

썩은 사과는 나쁜 짓을 하고

and convinces other people to do bad things with them.

남을 설득해 나쁜 짓을 하게 만드는 사람이다.

Yes, sometimes if you think about children,
