Meaning of UNDER THE WEATHER - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So in English when we say that we're under the weather it means that we're not quite

sick, but we're not feeling 100% either.

We're kind of feeling somewhere in the middle.

So we don't have a cold, we don't have the flu, but we don't have as much energy as we

normally would have.

So you could say to someone, "I know we were supposed to go out to eat tonight, but I think

I might stay home because I'm feeling under the weather."

You could also feel under the weather after you've been sick.

So maybe you've had a cold for a couple of days and you go back to work and someone says,

"Feeling better?" and you could respond by saying, "I'm feeling better, but I'm still

feeling a little bit under the weather.", which would mean that, you know, you're better,

but not quite all the way there, not quite 100%.
