Meaning of HANG TIGHT - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So in English if I was to say "hang tight" it means the same thing as "wait".

So let's imagine that a friend of yours sends you a text message and says, "I'm having some

trouble with my computer."

You could say to them, "Hang tight!

I'll be over in just a minute to help you."

So it means the same things as "wait".

And you use it the same way.

You can say to someone, "Just hang tight.

I'll be there in a sec."

"Just hang tight I'll be there in about 30 minutes."

And it really just tells the other person that they need to wait a little bit.

So another example would be maybe your Mom calls and says, "I made a huge meal and I'm

having trouble eating all of it."

You could say, "Hang tight Mom.

I'll be there in about 5 minutes to help you eat all that food!"

I really like it when that happens.

If you ever have extra food, give me a call and I'll come and help eat it.
