Meaning of BUTTERFLIES IN MY STOMACH - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So if I was to say that I had butterflies in my stomach it would mean that I'm nervous

about something.

It would mean that I am anxious about something.

We often use this phrase to express when we are feeling nervous.

I remember when I use to use Skype to practice my French.

I would go on Skype and speak with a native French speaker and before I did I would have

butterflies in my stomach because I was always nervous to speak a different language.

I was nervous to speak a language that wasn't my native language.

So I would have butterflies in my stomach.

You might have the same thing when you know that you'll be having a conversation with

a native English speaker.

It's quite possible that you are nervous and it's quite possible that you have butterflies

in your stomach before you have that conversation.

Because I wouldn't really be sure if I was going have butterflies in my stomach tomorrow

or not.
