Meaning of OVER THE HILL - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So in English when we say someone is "over the hill" it means that they're old, and it's

kind of a fun way to say that they're old.

You would usually use this with a friend or someone in your family, maybe when they've

turned 40 or maybe they're getting close to 50 years old.

You might jokingly say to them that they're over the hill now.

You can also say it about yourself, so sometimes when I do a lot of walking on one day and

then the next day my legs are sore, I could say, "I'm really feeling over the hill today!"

So you kind of get the sense of what this means, if life was a hill, you're kind of

at the halfway point when start to go over that hill.

So over the hill means old.
