Meaning of WAY TO GO - A Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So in English, when someone does something well,

we will say, "Way to go!",

as a way to congratulate them.

It's an informal way to say that you think someone

is doing a good job.

Three years ago today, I stood right about here

and I made my very first YouTube video.

And it is now three years later.

So today is the three year anniversary

of my main YouTube channel.

or in the first comment.

So you could say to me, "Way to go, Bob.

"You've done a good job."

You don't have to say that but you could say that

and if you really wanted to thank me,

you would go to my main channel and just watch

a bunch of my older videos for fun.

I'm pretty nervous in some of them

but it's just really cool to watch the older videos

on my channel.

A more formal way to celebrate with someone

would be to say , "Congratulations!"

This is a difficult word, sometimes for non-native

English speakers to pronounce.

But you could also say to me,

"Congratulations, Bob, on the three year anniversary

"of your YouTube channel."

You don't have to celebrate with me.

I'm pretty excited.

I never thought that my channel would grow

as fast as it did.

My main channel has over 300,000 subscribers.

That to me is just amazing

and I wanna end by saying thank you.

Thank you to all of you who have subscribed.

There would be no channel without people like you

who watch my videos.
