And in this video, I want to talk  with you about the word ‘lag’. 

그리고 이번 영상에서는 '시차'라는 단어에 대해 이야기해 볼까 합니다.

Now ‘lag’ means to do something very slowly, or to be very slow, okay. 

이제 'lag'는 어떤 일을 매우 느리게 하거나 매우 느리게 한다는 뜻입니다.

So the word ‘lag’ is up here on the board. Now, the pronunciation - it's hard I know 

그래서 '지연'이라는 단어가 여기 칠판에 올라와 있습니다. 자, 발음이 - 어려운 건 알지만

but you have to try and practice ‘lag’ 

'lag' 'lag' 연습을 해봐야 합니다

‘lag’ Okay.

So let's look at these examples.

이제 이러한 예를 살펴보겠습니다.

“She's lagging .”

“그녀는 뒤쳐져 있어요.”

“She's lagging.”

“그녀는 뒤쳐져 있어요.”

This means she's taking a long time to do something.

이것은 그녀가 어떤 일을 하는 데 오랜 시간이 걸린다는 것을 의미합니다.

She's doing something very slowly.

그녀는 뭔가를 아주 천천히 하고 있어요.

“She's lagging.”

“그녀는 뒤쳐져 있어요.”

The next one is, “Stop lagging.”

다음은 “지체를 멈추세요”입니다.

“Stop lagging.”

“그만 지체하세요.”

You're telling somebody hurry up. Stop being slow. 

누군가에게 서둘러라고 말하고 있습니다. 천천히 하지 마세요.

Okay. The next one is a very common problem. 

좋아요. 다음은 매우 일반적인 문제입니다.

“My computer is lagging.”

“내 컴퓨터가 느려지고 있어요.”

“My computer is lagging.”

“내 컴퓨터가 느려지고 있어요.”

That means my computer is slow.

그건 내 컴퓨터가 느리다는 뜻이에요.

It's slow. I'm trying to do something but it's lagging. It's slow.

느리다. 뭔가를 하려고 하는데 늦어지고 있어요. 느리다.

And the last one is,

그리고 마지막은

“I have jet lag.”

“시차로 인한 피로가 있어요.”

“I have jet lag.”

입니다. “시차로 인한 피로가 있어요.”

You might hear this a lot especially from people who are travelling.

특히 여행을 다니는 사람들에게서 이런 말을 많이 들을 수 있습니다.

So if you travel around the world, maybe too a far away country

그래서 만약 여러분이 세계를 여행한다면, 아마도 너무 먼 나라를 여행

that you're  going to be changing time zones,

한다면 여러분은 시간대를 바꾸게 될 것입니다.

so the time will be different,

그래서 시간은 다를 것이고

and you'll feel very tired,

여러분은 매우 피곤함을 느낄 것이고

your body will feel slow and tired,

여러분 의 몸은 느리고 피곤함을 느낄 것입니다.

and your body is taking a long time to adjust to the new time zone,

신체가 새로운 시간대에 적응하는 데 오랜 시간이 걸리고,

your body is slow to adjust,

신체가 적응하는 데 시간이 오래 걸리므

so you have to say, “I have jet lag.”

로 "시차로 인한 피로가 있습니다."라고 말해야 합니다.

Okay. Let's look at some more examples together.

The first one. “She's always late because she lags.” 

첫번째. “그녀는 뒤처지기 때문에 항상 늦습니다.”

“She's always late because she lags.” 

“그녀는 뒤처지기 때문에 항상 늦습니다.”

The next one. “I wish you wouldn't lag so much.” 

다음 것. “너무 서두르지 않았으면 좋겠어요.”

“I wish you wouldn't lag so much.” 

“너무 서두르지 않았으면 좋겠어요.”

Next. “I can't  

다음. “

open the program because my computer is lagging.” 

컴퓨터가 느려져서 프로그램을 열 수 없습니다 .”

“I can't open the program  because my computer is lagging.” 

“컴퓨터가 느려져서 프로그램을 열 수 없습니다.”

The last one. “My jet lag is terrible. I keep falling asleep.” 

마지막 하나. “제 시차증이 너무 심해요. 계속 잠이 들어요.”

“My jet lag is terrible. I keep falling asleep.” 

“제 시차증이 너무 심해요. 계속 잠이 들어요.”

So in this video we learned that we use the word ‘lag’  to describe an action that is very very slow. 

그래서 이번 영상에서 우리는 매우 느린 동작을 설명하기 위해 'lag'라는 단어를 사용한다는 것을 배웠습니다.

Now, my best friend is someone who lags a lot.

이제 나의 가장 친한 친구는 많이 뒤처지는 사람입니다.

Whenever we want to do something especially at night,

특히 밤에 뭔가 하고 싶을 때마다

she takes almost two hours to get ready.

그녀는 준비하는 데 거의 두 시간이 걸립니다.

She has to wash her hair or take a shower then put on her makeup,

그녀는 머리를 감거나 샤워를 한 후 화장을 해야 하고

you know decide what to wear.

무엇을 입을지 결정해야 합니다.

And that can take a very long time.

그리고 그것은 매우 오랜 시간이 걸릴 수 있습니다.

So I always have to say to her “Stop lagging!

그래서 저는 항상 그녀에게 “그만하세요!

Hurry up! We're late! Stop lagging!” Okay. 

서둘러요! 우리는 늦었다! 그만 뒤처져라!” 좋아요.

So next time, if you have a friend or  somebody that's taking a very long time, 

그러니 다음에 친구나 누군가가 너무 오래 걸리면

you can use the word ‘lag’ to say  ‘stop lagging’ ‘hurry up’ okay. 

'지연'이라는 단어를 사용하여 '지체 중지', '서두르세요'라고 말할 수 있습니다.
