Well, let's start with three ways that you can say,

Why? What's the reason?

To study English, that's the reason.

Yes, you can say,

"I want to go to London because I want to study English."

That's fine.

But with this, we are specifically saying when this happens,

this happens or can happen.

It's an order of things.

This needs to happen first, then this.

So we could say in order to, it's an order of things.

If this happens, then this happens.

I want to go to London in order to study English.

And again, that's great,

but you probably learned this in class, right?

That's boring.

How can we make it better?

Maybe let's change this to,

so as to.

Pronunciation, notice we've got connected speech there.

So as, we link those two with a (imitates W) sound.

Sowas, so as.

So as to.

And again, it means, if this happens

this can then happen after.

I wanna go to London so as to study English.

I do this in order to do this.

Okay, now let's imagine

you applied for the job of your dreams, you are so happy.

But then, ugh, you get rejected.

And the rejection is formal.

Your application is unsuccessful at this time.

Why?

Because, you don't have enough experience.

Let's change because to something more formal

to match the formality of this.

Due to, is a more formal version of because.

This is just, this is the reason for this.

So we can't use in order to, or so as to,

this is not an order of things.

It's just a simple, this is the reason.

Pronunciation, you have options.

Due to, that sounds more posh,

or due to, that sounds more casual, more normal.

You will definitely hear due to, more often than due to.

Again, not many people speak in RP, keep that in mind.

Also, there's something else we could change here

to make this sound more formal.

When we say a lack of something, in this case experience,

we mean you don't have enough of something.

So in this case, the full sentence, the full rejection,

would be your application is unsuccessful at this time

due to your lack of experience.

the formal way, due to.

This sounds like one of those rubbish Instagram accounts,

that's like normal English because of,

IELTS English, due to.

If they post things like this,

they usually post the wrong information.

They'll teach absolute rubbish.

That will probably make your English worse, not better.

Pro tip, don't follow those accounts,

instead follow dog accounts,

And the structure, you have options.

For example, let's imagine there is an event,

Or due to, with the fact that,

and then the normal whole sentence.

So due to the fact that it's raining, the event is canceled.

So let's imagine that you worked all day yesterday

and all day today, tomorrow is your day off,

but then your boss wants to cancel your day off.

Because this is a full sentence,

or given the fact that I worked all day, I need a day off.

You could remove that, or the fact that.

Given I worked all day, I need tomorrow off.

Yes, you can remove that, but it's better to

because it's a full sentence, leave it there.

That just makes for better writing, sounds clearer.

It's just better.

Another example with this.

Well, given that I hate you, I'll never marry you.

Again, you could remove that.

However, again, it just sounds clearer,

and it's better writing to leave that with a full sentence.

So the structure, again, it's like due to,

you have that option.

Due to the fact that, full sentence, or,

remember this guy?

Remember why he was rejected.

Not enough experience, right?

How was the more formal way to say this?

A lack of experience.

You don't have enough of something?

You have a lack of something.

So that's a noun, right?

So given,

and it's his, so given your.

Given your lack of experience

your application is unsuccessful, you suck.

Or something more formal than you suck,

but you get the idea.

So with given, given the fact that,

given that, full sentence.

Given alone, you need a noun.
