A hundred percent my fault, but I'm stubborn.

So, we argued a lot about it.

There was a lot of tension.

We didn't talk for a long time.

But then we were like, this is stupid,

we live together, so,

let's talk it over,

fix this problem.

And of course, it was fine afterwards,

but that's the phrasal verb you need.

Then I'm asking you to take control of the channel for me.

Again, this is common when talking about businesses,

projects, teams, anything that needs a leader.

So in this case, I'm saying, watch it again,

and again, and again, and again.

We would use that prefix, over.

So, how do we change this?

Too much,

over.

You overdid the gym.

That's okay, but most commonly though,

you would say, you overdid it.

You can use this for anything,

when someone does something too much.

at the gym.

If I make you cookies and I put too much sugar in there,

you could say, you overdid it on the sugar.

If you go out partying with your friend

and they drink too much,

you overdid it on the cocktails.

But the problem with this is, there are not many verbs

you can change that to.

So, and it's really weird, like

if someone drinks too much,

you don't say you over drank last night.

We would understand it, but we don't say it.

However, if someone's eating too much

and they feel sick,

you can say, I think you overate yesterday.

That's okay.

So, how do you know which verbs are okay?

If you hear another option with a different verb,

you can use it.

Then it's okay.

But if you want to use this in an exam,

stick with the verb do.
