I'm feeling way better! (I had COVID.)

Well, hello everyone.

It's really good to be outside again

making a video for all of you.

If you didn't notice,

I haven't put up very many videos lately,

I haven't done very many live English lessons.

In fact, I think I put a video up a week and a half ago,

and that's really all that I've done

in the last little while,

and some of you still might be wondering why.

Well, I got COVID.

In fact, everyone in my house got COVID

over the Christmas holidays.

It started with one of my kids

way back at the end of December,

and slowly but surely everyone in our house got COVID.

Some of my kids had a very mild case of COVID,

Jen had a little bit more of a definitely not a mild case.

And for me, it took a few days to start feeling better.

I actually tested positive

I think about nine days ago now,

it was on a Saturday morning.

I got up and I was like, "I think I have it."

So I did a test, I think I have the test,

I'll put it up on the screen here somewhere,

and I was positive.

What kind of symptoms did I have?

I had a fever for about two and a half, three days.

I had a fever, that was kind of weird.

And then I had all the other symptoms.

My body ached, I had a stuffed up nose,

which also became a runny nose after a while,

so I had to blow my nose a lot.

I had a sore throat, I had a headache, I had a dry cough.

And in fact, I still have a little bit of a dry cough.

But please don't bother me,

don't bug me because I'm outside on a cold day,

it's only minus one right now.

It's actually quite beautiful out here,

so it's not a bad day to be outside,

even if I'm still a tiny, tiny, little bit sick.

So I had all of the symptoms I think

that you can possibly have,

and it definitely wasn't pleasant.

I should mention that I am vaccinated.

So I do wonder what it would have been like

if I had gotten COVID without being vaccinated,

I think it would have been a lot worse.

Some people who have COVID

say that their symptoms were mild.

Mine weren't that mild, they weren't severe,

but it was probably somewhere in the middle,

it certainly wasn't very pleasant.

I wasn't able to even think clearly enough

to make English lessons for you.

I didn't have the energy to go outside and make a video,

I definitely wasn't going to be doing live streams,

but I think that's all behind me now.

The last couple of days

I've definitely started to feel better.

I still cough a little bit at night when I'm sleeping,

but I'm definitely on the mend,

I'm definitely feeling way better than I was before.

What does that mean for all of you?

Well, here's the plan,

I'm going to do a live stream this coming Friday,

I'm not sure what the topic is yet.

It might not be a full hour,

I might do about 30 or 40 minutes just to get back at it,

just to get my feet wet again.

And I think I'm going to skip Saturday,

I think I'm just gonna do a live stream this Friday.

You're obviously watching this video on a Tuesday,

I will put together another English lesson

for you for next Tuesday.

In that sense, I will be back on track,

and everything will be starting to go back to normal,

but I'm just gonna take it one step at a time.

I feel really good today, today's actually a Monday,

you'll be watching this on a Tuesday.

And then again, I will be doing live lesson Friday,

no live lesson Saturday.

And I'll get back to the Wednesdays with Bob Videos

for members starting next Wednesday,

and I'll just add one little piece of the puzzle at a time

as I go through each of my days.

How is school going though? I have a job as well, right?

Well, thankfully we had remote learning last week.

So for most of the Christmas break I wasn't working,

so when I was sick I didn't have to work anyways,

but I was kind of sick last week but I taught remotely,

so I taught online.

And then today it's a Monday,

I woke up this morning with a message from my boss saying,

"It is a snow day."

A snow day is a day where you get so much snow

that you can't go to work

because the roads are too dangerous.

And so I'm home today.

It's a day off work so I thought, "What a great day

to start making little videos for you again."

So, that's it, the summary.

I had COVID, I've had it and I'm over it.

I had it, when did I test positive?

Saturday, January something or other,

so like a week and a couple of days ago,

definitely feeling a lot better.

And I haven't been making a lot of lessons,

but I'm going to start making them again for you.

What else was I gonna talk about?

Oh, my symptoms were not mild, but not severe,

and I definitely feel like I'm getting better,

I don't have it anymore.

I might do another test in a couple of days

just to make sure,

I might do another test just to make sure

that it comes up negative instead of positive,

but I'm pretty sure I will be negative.

And that's about it, it's a beautiful snow day.
