The Power Learning Podcast Reborn - 1 - Thor Heyerdahl & The Kon-Tiki Expedition

all right looks like we're going to give  this a try here hopefully it won't be too  

too bright out this window and  we'll see who can get all right

well I wanted to do something different and I know  a lot of people enjoy the podcast that I used to  

make maybe it was I don't know almost 10 years  ago I think that I started making those uh and I  

like to get you know into different things and try  different things with the channel but I know many  

people do continue to enjoy those podcasts and  so I wanted to just try something different come  

back to the podcast after it's been a long time  and I also wanted to make something I know a lot  

of people just enjoy having something to listen to  while they're working and I thought this would be  

a great opportunity to give something where like  in that previous podcast I was only just giving  

audio but this one I thought you could watch me  if you actually want to watch me or you can not  

watch me and just listen to what's happening so  uh if you're joining me live I do not have the  

chat activated because I don't want to have people  worrying about typing anything in this is just for  

you to sit back and relax and listen but you can  comment after the video when the video is released  

on YouTube so hopefully I've got this going right  I might have to move this around a little bit make  

this a little bit more interesting but in today's  episode so this is the power learning podcast  

reborn and I am Drew Batcher the founder of  English anyone.com and today I want to talk about  

not necessarily this book uh but this is the  story of the kantiki and Thor hair doll and  

I think it's an important Story and there's some  controversy about whether or not uh like the  

implications of this or are accurate but anyway I  want to talk about the story why it's important to  

me and why you should care about this as well so  the idea of the Khan Tiki this was a a mission by  

Thor hair doll you can see his name right there  and he wanted to test the idea that instead of  

people coming down to the Polynesian Islands like  like Easter Island and the other Islands south of  

Asia that people were actually coming from South  America or maybe there was a combination at least  

some people that had come from South America and  were settling there by traveling across the ocean  

so going from South America to Polynesia rather  than going from like coming down from Asia into  

like going down where Australia is and all of the  islands over there so he had this this idea and a  

lot of people thought it was very crazy and so the  theme of this video this podcast episode is really  

talking about truth and when you have something  when you notice something that maybe other people  

don't notice or that other people don't believe  but you are maybe noticing clues or you're finding  

clues about something uh that's your opportunity  you're kind of getting like knocked or tapped a  

little bit on the shoulders saying hey why don't  you go investigate something or even if something  

seems like it's not true for most people if  you're really getting the sense that something  

is actually true or you know even if maybe it  seems odd or weird or contrary to what most  

people believe you should still be following that  thing and so that's the kind of interesting story  

about the the idea of the contiki so what this  guy did is he wanted to find out if people using  

like very basic rafts so that kind of Technology  could actually get from South America all the way  

over to the Polynesian Islands so obviously we can  do that now we can fly airplanes or take powered  

boats or whatever but this was just like a wooden  raft can you get people in a wooden raft and could  

people actually get all the way across and so he  has this idea and he starts thinking well it seems  

like a logical thing there's a current so an ocean  current this means like the the the water or is  

moving usually because the like the ocean kind of  Cycles around in different ways and so this is the  

Humboldt current that floats up or kind of goes  up along the coast of South America and then goes  

out across West moving out to Polynesia so his  his idea was that people could just sit on that  

and ride that all the way and that they wouldn't  need anything special like special kind of powered  

boats or anything uh fantastic to get from one  place to the other it's physically possible to  

do that and so whether there was actual kind of  populations moving down from south from from Asia  

into the Polynesian Islands or moving West his  main idea was just to prove that it's possible  

to do that and so the story you can actually watch  a documentary about this but he had this idea and  

he was just so focused on it that that it had  to be true it had to be possible and so that's  

why he wanted to go and and actually build a raft  himself and get a small crew of people to join him  

and see if he could do this so the only technology  that they put on the boat was a like I think they  

had a radio and a few other things but it was it  was basically all just like a very simple raft  

I'll tell more about kind of what they did in the  story of how they did it uh but I just thought it  

was a really fantastic uh idea or an instance  or an example or a story of when somebody has  

something that they notice it's like a truth that  they notice that nobody else sees and I think it's  

important for me because like what I do personally  uh trying to help people understand English like  

a native speaker it's something a lot of people  just believe is not possible or that they think  

they have to live in an English-speaking country  or something like that so there's a lot of people  

it's the same kind of thing where there's a truth  that I know and I've experienced it for myself and  

I've helped lots of other people become fluent but  still there's so many people around the world that  

just believe it's not possible to do that and  so when I read stories like this it reminds me  

when you when you have an idea about something  you should notice some kind of signs or clues  

that it's possible and throughout his journey  from having the idea and trying to get money so  

he could pay for this thing and then getting into  South South America and then actually making the  

voyage in the boat across and it wasn't even a  boat it's just a rat like a basic a basic raft  

and so when he was thinking about doing that uh  he kept on getting these little Clues and then  

he finally made it in the end and the whole crew  arrived safely so first he was thinking about how  

am I going to get money for this because a lot  of people think this is a this is a crazy idea  

and scientifically people were saying no it's not  possible really that people were coming from uh  

from South America at that time with the  technology that they had so everyone just  

assumed that the populations were coming  down from Asia and this video is not about  

like proving that one way or the other like is it  correct or is it not correct the point is more if  

you have an idea and you can see something and  it is possible again there is some controversy  

so controversy meaning uh like people disagree  or some people think yes some people think no  

it's controversial so there's some controversy  over where people came from but later I think  

recently in the past couple of years there has  been like doing DNA studies and finding there  

is a connection between people from South America  and people in Polynesia so who knows what exactly  

the the mix is if some people are coming across  or some or most people whatever again the point  

of the story is that you have an idea you notice  something and you think like yeah that's probably  

true I bet that's me maybe what happened or I  bet that's possible and so really he just wanted  

to prove that you could do it without taking  any kind of uh you know additional equipment  

or having a motor on the boat or anything  like that so how can we take something simple  

and again at each step he's got these clues that  he's noticing and so one of the first things he  

does is when he's looking for funding and looking  for people who are interested in trying it out and  

talking with other members of a potential crew  he's meeting people I think he was in New York  

City at the time this was I think 1947 and he's  talking with people so this is a Norwegian guy and  

he knows about you know a little bit about fishing  and other things I think he'd also done previous  

kind of voyages or other things as well but he  was he just really wanted to explore and see if  

it was possible to do he just had that idea and  so he was looking for other people and it was  

actually interesting to see other people were just  like yeah that sounds like a cool idea let's do it  

so the people who were interested in getting on  the boat I mean he wanted a crew and he just said  

okay we have maybe six people that we can get on  this boat myself included and then we can take a  

voyage and go out and and see what happens and  we'll and you know we might die who knows but  

at least we'll have an interesting story if we  make it and so he was looking for funding as well  

and one of the funding sources he found was the  United States military and the military was also  

interested in testing different equipment that  they had so can we take something and really test  

it in you know like trying some food rations uh or  some special flotation things so flotation meaning  

you can keep yourself floating in the water and  so they they were you know excited to give him  

things it took a little bit you know to get people  convinced about the idea but a key was just so  

focused on that idea and so focused on uh really  convincing people that this was something that  

should be done it was something that could be done  and that they wanted to try it so as they got more  

people involved they said okay this is going to be  you know it's like it's like actually starting to  

happen again he's getting these Clues he's got  this idea and it's almost like the universe is  

just making it possible have you ever experienced  that so like you want to do something and maybe  

you don't know exactly how you're going to do it  but you just feel it's something you should do and  

I think maybe I've told this I'll tell I'll kind  of tell a quick story from my own life about this  

I've shared this before but this was a time when  uh I was after I had been living in Japan for a  

while I went to Alaska with a friend of mine and  he was really excited and interested in uh working  

on a salmon fishing boat so he wanted to work  actually on a fishing boat and and kind of go  

out and do that and I was not really interested in  that I just wanted to go and see Alaska and I said  

you know I just really have like a strong sense of  wanting to go out there and that I should go out  

there but I don't know exactly how that will work  because I don't want to go on to a fishing boat  

and I wasn't I didn't really care about working  and when I saw those fishing boats these Alaskan  

salmon fishing boats are actually pretty small  and so the crew these are the the people who work  

on the boat they're there for you know maybe a few  months or a few weeks or something just during the  

summer time and sometimes they are out on the boat  for a while and again the boats are not very big I  

mean the room that I'm recording this in right now  it's maybe it's almost about the size of this room  

so it's maybe like like a school bus a little bit  longer than that so the boats are again not very  

big and then you've got a crew of a few people on  there and then they're just eating Ramen every day  

or whatever you know something simple there's not  it's not like a kind of relaxing place to be you  

know they're out working all the time trying to  catch as much fish as they can because if they  

don't catch fish they don't get paid and so I  was just not interested in that I said you know  

I want to see Alaska and that was the vision I  had I said I want to see Alaska and I know it's  

possible to do that and I had almost a like a bit  more of a specific idea of I want to kind of take  

a cruise of Alaska like see the see the water see  the land you know and and there wasn't anything  

like that possible and if I told people when I  was going there I you know I just said hey I want  

to go to Alaska and and see the different things  around in Alaska you know the just the interesting  

water and I really like the the environment up  there so the trees and the water and all of that  

and so I told people I'm going to Alaska and  I said I kind of want to get paid to take it  

like a cruise out there so how can I how can  I find some way to do that and you know people  

are just looking at me funny like that's  not possible it's not possible to do that  

and so I get out there and I basically have no  money I bought a one-way ticket to go there and  

I'm with my friend and we're walking around the  docks so the docks this is where the boats are  

so you would go at basically the beginning of the  summer season you would talk to fishermen and you  

would ask if they have any space on their boat for  another crew member and some people can get on a  

new boat that way and maybe some people don't and  they just go back home so my friend was walking  

around doing that but I was actually feeling very  nervous because I wasn't interested in doing that  

and I was just like all right well I'm in Alaska  now what am I going to do how am I I had no plan  

again I bought a one-way ticket I didn't have much  money anyway but I knew I was there and there was  

just something I could feel it was something I  wanted to do and when I'm going around and you  

know I'm just on the the island so I was on a  small island called Kodiak if you look at a map  

of Alaska it's the biggest island I think it's the  biggest island in the United States Kodiak Island  

or it's maybe the biggest island it's certainly  the biggest island in Alaska but it's it's if you  

look at Alaska has it looks like a big kind of  fist like this oh no there's a fire truck or an  

ambulance something like usual always around this  time there's an ambulance so I apologize this is  

not going to be the cleanest podcast episode  hopefully I'm not too bright let me see if I  

can like turn this around here if that's a little  bit better yeah like like the video if the sound  

is coming through I'm trying to get a little bit  better with the uh the microphone a little bit  

closer and if you enjoy this next time I should  have an even better microphone to record this with  

so anyway I'm there my friend is going around  and talking to fisherman and he's actually got a  

few leads so when we say someone has a few leads  just like you know you're looking for customers  

or clients or something like that so potential  someone who could maybe uh like be the captain  

for the boat he might work on and I was again not  interested in that at all but we were spending  

some time on this island and I was thinking about  what I want to do and and my friend and I were  

also because we didn't have a car we're just you  know we took a boat to this island we traveled  

from we took a plane up to Anchorage and then  took a a bus and then a boat to get to this island  

and when we were there we were getting  around by hitchhiking on this island  

and so we would in hitchhiking is where you  stand on the side of the road and you put your  

thumb out like this and you just like yeah  I'm going this way and people will stop and  

give you a ride and it depends if you're in a  kind of nicer place or maybe a friendlier place  

and this is a small island with a small town  on it so people are a little bit nicer about  

you know picking up strangers and so we did  this a couple of times we got a few rides with  

different people and one time we were coming  out of a a Walmart there's actually a Walmart  

I couldn't believe it there's a Walmart on  this island uh and so we come out of this  

Walmart and we're walking down the street and  we were hitchhiking and a guy picked us up and  

this was the guy who had a boat that we ended up  working on and I just thought it was amazing that  

the Universe just kind of like opened up and and  provided that opportunity because it was exactly  

what I was looking for but I had no idea that  something like this was possible so just to end  

this very quick story about that I was in uh it  was a the the kind of boat that this guy had it  

was an Alaskan crabbing boat so in the winter time  these are the larger boats that go out and and get  

the big crab pots so the Crab Pot is just named  for these cages of crab that are you drop them  

in the bottom of the ocean collect the crabs  and pull them back up and it's one of the most  

dangerous jobs in the world and we were not doing  that though this was in the summertime and so when  

the this is the off season so when something is  off season it means it's just not at the time that  

it's happening so summer is off season because  winter is when you do the crabbing and when we  

were there uh during the the summer we had no  idea that there was this kind of thing called  

uh tendering and so tendering is where you can you  can get on a boat and just help kind of bring the  

fish back that the actual fishermen catch and so  we were doing that and and that was like the the  

story of how I got kind of a tour of Alaska and we  stayed on this boat and we didn't really work very  

much but we got paid every day we ate very well  we just we pulled fish right from the sea and ate  

those it was amazing we even had uh yeah I think  we had some like some crab pots as well that had  

crab in them uh but it was just an amazing time  and it was one of those things where I just had  

an idea like Thor in this uh in in The Voyage of  the kantiki about having like a truth or something  

that you just feel you should do and even if  other people think it's not possible or other  

people are just saying no I don't believe it or  whatever if you feel that and you will get Clues  

along the way something will happen to make that  possible I don't know how that works but I think  

it's an amazing thing that happened to me and  that's not the only time this happened in my life  

uh but anyway about getting back to this story so  they get funding and Thor uh is able to get a kind  

of a connection to the government of Peru I think  that like the government of Norway helped like the  

Ambassador or something like that I forget the  exact details of that but he was able to go and  

uh and get into Peru and while he was there he was  like the first kind of disappointing thing happens  

and this is another thing that happens when you  were when something something like this just like  

the the uh the trip to Alaska where it's like my  my emotions were kind of up and down like very  

wide widely you know just like wow I was really  excited to be in Alaska and then oh no what am I  

going to do I've got no money like I have no plan  and so you panic and you freak out a little bit  

and so he was in the same kind of position he came  to Peru and he really wanted to make a raft out of  

these it's basically just nine logs or I think it  was nine but just like nine large uh balsa wood  

logs and when he got in uh to Peru he was talking  to people about can I get the trees for this and  

and they were like no all the trees are gone over  here you have to go to a completely different area  

so again he's got something he gets like to the  next step and then there's another challenge and  

then he has to overcome that challenge and  again this happens over and over but always  

there's something that like makes that possible  so the the whole plan about making it across in  

a raft is that's kind of the end goal but as at  little moments in between while he's trying to  

go from one place to the other uh he has these  different experiences these and difficulties or  

challenges and then he has to overcome those but  usually it's in ways that he hasn't anticipated  

and so he has to go to a different area of Peru  and get the logs he needs and he goes out into  

the jungle and cuts him down with some people over  there and they float these logs down a river so  

they can get them back to the coast and get them  actually where they want to build this in it's  

a naval a Naval Shipyard so where the Peruvian  Navy is they actually have a space available or  

they had one where Thor and his team could build  their raft and so people are looking at them as  

they're trying to build this thing and they're  building the raft based on plans or descriptions  

that the like Spanish conquistadors had drawn so  I don't remember if they had actual images or they  

probably had some kind of pictures or something  they drew but what was really interesting uh is  

they're getting help from all these people you  know as they're trying to build something it's  

it's almost magnetic so magnetic meaning it just  attracts different people and the right resources  

come to you when you need them even if you don't  know exactly how that will happen so you could  

never really plan something like this I mean you  would you would try to plan it but then the plans  

would go wrong you know they would something would  happen and it would not work out for whatever  

reason and so he would go you know talking to  different people and getting advice and working  

with different people in the community and he got  lots of people from Peru I think they had even a  

big party when they were going to finally set sail  so to set sail meaning they're going to to go out  

and so they were actually carried out uh into the  ocean uh by the Peruvian Navy so they were pulled  

out just they wanted to get the boat past uh like  the local sea Lanes to make sure people aren't  

going to hit that little boat because it's kind  of hard to see it's a tiny raft in the middle of  

the ocean with I think six people in total on  it uh they also had a parrot on board I think  

that was interesting uh but just thinking about  the things that they designed and at every step  

people continue this is another thing people  continue to tell them it wouldn't be possible  

so some people are trying to help them and  they think well maybe we can do our part so  

to do your part meaning just like help out in  your way to contribute or to help in some way  

and a lot of people were still telling them  hey like this is not going to work and one  

of the things they said is you're using these  these big uh so tree logs and they're tying  

them together in a traditional way with this  just fabric from from Vines from the jungle  

and people said uh well what happens when you get  out there is the the the logs are going to move  

against each other and it's going to cut the rope  and the whole thing will will fall apart in the in  

the middle of the ocean and you will die and and  he was just like well this seems like what they  

used to do and and they didn't know exactly how it  would work so they again they did they have a plan  

and they think like okay this is how it should  work it seems like that's that's what's going  

on but most people a lot of people didn't think  they would make it they think okay we're gonna  

make this raft and it's fun to make that but as  soon as you get out into the ocean and the waves  

are going up and down and you know some Giant Wave  crashes and breaks the boat because it's not very  

strong you're going to have all these problems and  and so they just they went out and did it anyway  

and what happened especially with these ropes this  is basically the opposite of what happened uh the  

opposite of what people expected is what happened  and the again the people assumed that you have  

these kind of like little ropes that are attaching  these logs together and that the logs are going  

to move back and forth and then Cut the Rope but  what happened was actually the the wood itself was  

really soft and it it's it kind of absorbed a lot  of the water and it didn't sink you know it was  

floating perfectly this is balsa wood that's the  name of that kind of tree and and what happened  

was that the Rope itself actually bit into the  wood and this is a great phrasal verb to bite into  

something so I can think about like me physically  biting into an apple but I can also think about  

like if I have some string or something and I  I pull it really tight onto my skin the string  

is biting into my skin so these the Rope was  going around these these wood logs and then the  

Rope actually bit into it so it held everything  together very well there wasn't movement really  

coming like that and the Rope stayed there uh all  the way until they reached the end and another  

thing that they thought about because they're  using some some they did get some food rations  

and other things like that and thinking about  how do you carry water with you because obviously  

you're around all this water there's all this salt  water but you can't drink it so you have to bring  

fresh water somehow and collect that either maybe  from rain or something but they noticed that like  

one of the things they could do is actually just  take bamboo and Hollow it out and then that would  

just carry water and you can carry that underneath  the raft itself and you can carry as much water as  

you need actually more water than you need really  and another interesting thing is as they're going  

so I mentioned before about the Humboldt current  so they're on this current and it's taking them uh  

like from kind of from South America from Peru  up a little bit and then they're going west to  

Polynesia and along that same current they've got  all these animals so fish and wildlife uh whales  

and things like that are also kind of traveling  along with them and so every day there would be  

these flying fish and flying squids and things  like that that would just like fly up and they  

would land on the raft and then they would just  cook them and eat them and that's they they had  

you know their their food rations as well so a  ration this is a small portion of something like  

in in the military or in the Army they'll give  you a little bit of food that's your ration uh  

for that meal and so they had uh these rations and  they were getting food from uh just the ocean and  

so also they you know they had a little bit of bad  weather but really they had basically 100 days it  

took them about 100 days I think I don't remember  exactly but it was about 100 days to cross the  

water and so they they had like a great time they  caught some sharks and other things like that but  

I thought it was just a really good example  you can read the whole story or just watch  

the documentary you could probably find right here  on YouTube uh the documentary about it I'll hold  

up the book if you want to look at that more so  it's like it's called the the contiki so this is  

the story of the contigi that's the name of the  boat and I think actually in Norway at a there's  

a museum I don't know if it's specifically about  this but they have the actual boat there I think  

if it's not the same boat uh it's a replica I  think so replica meaning like a copy of it to  

replicate something so you can go there and  actually see this boat and it's not that big  

and so people again you were you know on a boat  and trying to trying to get from one place to the  

other and do something that most people thought  was impossible and they did it so all six men that  

went across the water they arrived safely uh on  the other side and they got I think they just hit  

like a coral reef or something like that but they  found people over there and they you know they  

had a nice voyage and I think they also did some  other things as well so it doesn't really matter  

the again the idea of where people really came  from if anybody really came from South America  

on some primitive raft technology some basic raft  technology so primitive mean meaning like basic or  

very simple very old like primitive primitive  equipment primitive technology so primitive  

technology you can actually go on YouTube right  here you can find if you look up primitive  

technology primitive technology and you can  see people building things with very simple two  

like making a little knife or something out of  a piece of uh Stone so they have to chip that  

and then make little axes or stones that kind  of thing so this was a very basic boat design  

and they couldn't really steer it so it had some  sails on it but they're really just going with the  

current to see if that would actually take them  all the way there and it did but the important  

thing about the story again it doesn't matter  if it if it proves you know people were actually  

traveling from Peru or if they came from uh Asia  or like southeast Asia and going going down into  

the islands down there the point is that this guy  had an idea he just had like he just he just knew  

and that's an important thing and maybe you have  something like that in your life and and you know  

I'd certainly have something like that in mind  that's really why I do what I do for education  

so I really feel that there's a much better way  of doing things and you can feel the truth of  

that and I get lots of clues about that all  the time about like understanding English  

like a native or me you know trying to understand  Japanese or whatever people are learning languages  

rather than the the traditional typical way  people do it so I'll share one more quick story  

I told this to my wife the other day she thought  it was pretty funny uh so I was uh and I think I  

probably told this story maybe maybe on one of  these podcasts I don't remember but so I was in  

a a Korean barbecue restaurant here in Japan and I  was waiting for a friend of mine I was supposed to  

meet my friend there and he was a little bit late  and I looked on the wall and next to my table was  

a poster for the movie After Earth and so this is  a Will Smith movie with his son Jaden Smith but  

the curry the the poster was all in Korean and so  I'm looking at this poster and I said oh I wonder  

if I can find out if I can figure some of this  Korean language out and looking at the names I  

can see all like the same characters are repeated  twice up at the top of the the movie poster so in  

English usually in a like an American movie poster  you will have the names of the actors up at the  

top of the movie or the top of the poster and like  you will have have Will Smith and I knew his son  

was in the movie too and his son was Jaden  Smith so the name Smith is probably up there  

and so there was something oh like the character  looked the same so I'm guessing the pronunciation  

is similar to Japanese where you have a sumi  suit for the word Smith because that th sound  

is not in Japanese and I'm guessing it's not in  Korean either but that same character was also  

in the movie name after Earth so that same Smith  the th sound was in the name Will Smith and also  

after Earth but it was that same character uh in  Korean so I couldn't read it but I could guess oh  

I bet that's what that is and that's kind of like  the first step for language learning where if you  

can connect with something yourself or if you can  discover something yourself you feel much more uh  

excited about something it's not like a teacher  just told you the definition or gave you the  

answer you figured something out by yourself and  so if you you can discover something that's why I  

made the first English language Discovery system  so that's Frederick the app but the reason I made  

that is because I kept having these experiences  about learning things kind of the first step is  

just understanding like a native so rather than  someone telling you what the answer is it's the  

same idea as when you're watching a scary movie or  something or a thriller or a crime drama and you  

want to figure out you know who who did the murder  or you want to solve the mystery and when you  

understand something when you solve a puzzle or  you accomplish something rather than someone doing  

it for you you feel very excited about that and  so the same thing applies in language learning so  

rather than uh you know you going out and trying  to find like a just like a book or a definition  

or a translation or something like that if you  can figure something out by yourself then you  

learn much faster and you feel more excited about  learning because it's not it's not just a boring  

translation exercise and so like the the things  that I do now for Education it's really this same  

idea of the stuff that Thor was doing and if  you have that I'd love to hear about that in  

the comments about the kinds of things you like to  do because really like the the language learning  

part uh is easy when you start doing it you start  understanding things like a native and the more  

you do that the easier it is for you to to believe  that it's possible to get fluent even if you don't  

live in an English-speaking country or even if  you don't live in you know like you don't have  

a native English speaker to practice with anything  like that if you can understand the language like  

a native then you will become a fluent speaker  much faster uh but that was it for my story I  

just wanted to do this again the the podcast uh  who knows if I will continue doing this if if  

these are helpful for people or if people enjoy  listening to these again I wanted to do something  

different than the previous kind of podcast I  was doing where I'm still just speaking into the  

microphone but I really wanted to have something  where you could watch me if you want to so some  

people want to you know watch my mouth as I'm  moving or the the way I'm moving while I speak but  

also again you can just relax and and just listen  uh and so anyway I think that will be it for this  

podcast I would like to take questions maybe I'll  do another live just like to to have uh people  

enjoy uh asking some questions about things but  I wanted to do this without having comments let  

me I wonder if I could turn comments on I don't  know actually I don't think I can do that now  

um but it would be nice to get more uh people to  join me on these but I'm hopefully uh hopefully

truth that you discovered a secret that you know  that other people do not uh and I'm sure a lot of  

people have that same kind of thing many people  maybe they just kind of go along with what other  

people are doing but I think many of the people  I help they have goals there are specific things  

they want to do with their life and a lot of times  you know we might hear that it's impossible to do  

something or that you can't do it and a story  like Thor's is something that it can Inspire us  

and say wow I mean I'm not sure I'm not trying  to go across the ocean in a in a raft I'm just  

trying to help people help people communicate  that's all I'm doing but in the same way we all  

have these various goals and especially if it's  something that you have in your life where a  

other people are maybe saying that's not possible  or you don't you don't know exactly how to do it  

but you still feel like it's something you should  be doing let me know in the comments down below
