You know i was doing so well today i thought i'm going to be on time i'm not going to be

late but of course here i am a little bit later than i said i would for which i apologise

profusely ever such a lot here we go then we're back together again yes it is another

hi everybody this is mr duncan in england how are you today are you okay i hope so are

you happy i hope so here we are then yes we are live once again across youtube

i didn't want to get out of bed this morning i don't know why i was lying in bed

i was lying in bed thinking isn't this nice do you ever find that do you ever find sometimes

when you're lying in bed you really don't want to get out so i did have that feeling

this morning i really didn't want to get out of bed it was a little bit chilly a little

cold in the house and of course during those winter months you really don't feel like getting

up or going outside so that was my feeling this morning by the way did you have a look

at the view wow it's looking lovely at the moment outside we do have some sunshine by

the way there is some sunshine and if you look in the distance you can see there are

some people as well walking across one of the famous landmarks here in the area in which

i live which is shropshire lots of people still ask mr duncan where are you i'm in england

i'm in a place called much wenlock and there you can see a live view right now looking

out of the window we've had some sunshine this morning it's still very cold and apparently

next week next week apparently we are going to get more snow wow it looks as if there

is another blast of cold weather coming our way which will be bringing lots of

snow so i will keep you updated with that i know around the world across europe and

many countries around the world you have also been getting a lot of snow not much here today

we have some lovely sunshine though to keep me happy and smiling i hope you are feeling

good where you are yes we have made it to the end of yet another week

we are all together back together again for those who like english this is english addict

for those who can't get enough of the english language that's why we're here you see that's

why we're doing this that is the reason why coming to you live from england yes i've been

doing this for a long time i will be honest with you some people ask mr duncan do you

ever get sick and tired do you ever become bored doing your live streams i will be honest

with you no to be honest there is always something new to talk about there are so many things

happening in the world so many things to look at to talk about and i suppose to be fascinated

by oh something i want to talk about today yes i have been searching around the internet

looking at some very strange things today we are going to look at a very unusual subject

something that i've discovered well in fact to be honest with you i discovered it about

two years ago but then i forgot all about it so yesterday i was flicking around the

internet as you do trying to find something to entertain myself with and i found some

very interesting videos on youtube concerning a certain topic a certain activity that has

over the past three or four years become very popular on the internet including here on

youtube later we are going to take a look at mukbang have you ever heard of mukbang

it is something that i've become very fascinated with over the past 24 hours i've been watching

lots of videos of people basically sitting in front of their computer eating food however

there are some slight differences between the way they eat food so the people performing

these the on these videos because i think it is a type of performance to be honest so

i don't think it's just eating i think it's a type of performance something that apparently

a lot of people enjoy watching have you ever seen the videos there are many videos around

on youtube and across the internet of people just eating food quite often they will eat

large quantities of food or large amounts of food so have you ever heard of mukbang

apparently it started in korea so it became a very big thing in korea where people would

sit and they would eat their meals in front of a camera and then other people would join

in and they would watch and sometimes they will take requests so maybe they will ask

their viewers what they would like to see them eat interesting as you know one of my

all-time favourite subjects is food so can i just say that i'm not criticizing this i

won't be criticizing this however there are some strange things happening in the world

of mukbang to be honest and i did discover quite a few of them so there are some people

who just like to sit in front of their camera and eat food and people watch however there

are some extreme versions of that particular thing also of course i will be looking at

some of my favourite food today as well however i won't be eating it so don't worry i won't

be pushing any food into my face today i won't be eating large quantities of food in front

of you even though it does seem like a good idea to be honest i i like the sound of it

also today one thing that some people find very hard to do can you guess what it is something

that people find very difficult to do today we will be looking at saying sorry why is

it so hard to apologize why is it so difficult to say sorry something you've done wrong maybe

something you've done on purpose maybe you have said something that has offended another

person like me last week apparently a few people were slightly upset last week about

what i was saying concerning free speech you see a very hot topic at the moment however

most of you agreed with what i said which i suppose is nice so why is it so difficult

to say sorry why is it so hard to apologize for your sins or your mistakes something you've

done that has hurt another person why is it so hard to say sorry sorry seems to be the

hardest word it really does so apologizing saying sorry we will be looking at some ways

of saying sorry to other people so what about your own experiences of saying sorry do you

find it easy to say sorry if you have done something wrong now in certain cultures saying

sorry is seen as a very embarrassing thing to do some people don't like to lose face

you see so quite often apologizing also involves admitting your mistake you see so quite often

when we apologize we also have to lose face as well we might have to admit that we were

wrong about something or it was a mistake to do something so saying sorry can be a very

hard thing to do we will be looking at that later on as well we also have the live chat

again it would be fair to say that mr steve does not like my beard not at all i like it

so personally from my own point of view i feel quite confident quite comfortable with

my beard mr steve does not like it he says it makes me look like a [ __ ] or a homeless

person not that there's anything wrong with that if that is your choice but mr steve said

duncan i don't like your beard i hate it you must shave it off so perhaps maybe a couple

more weeks maybe two more weeks perhaps i might keep my beard maybe maybe next month

so at the beginning of next month maybe i could just shave my beard off and then mr

steve will be happy again

so steve does not like my beard he says it makes me look scruffy scruffy oh i like that

word the word scruffy means untidy you look untidy you look as if you haven't been taking

care of yourself you haven't been taking good care of your appearance or your health you

look scruffy what about you do you like my beard now if you don't like it i might get

rid of it you see so if lots and lots of people say mr duncan we hate your beard and we agree

with mr steve then i might shave my beard off we will see what happens hello also to

you heard of mukbang it is something that that has been sweeping the internet when we

say that something has been sweeping across or sweeping the actual thing it means it is

spreading it is something that is spreading very quick it is sweeping maybe you could

say that coronavirus has been sweeping across the country england for example so if something

is sweeping across it means it is moving across it is sweeping across it is moving mukbang

we will be looking at that later on and also we will be talking about saying sorry also

another thing we're going to be doing today we are going to be playing the sentence game

now last week sadly because of the technical problems last week we we did lose the last

part of the sentence game so we will be playing it today and hopefully the equipment will

have to make an oath to protect the united states and all those living there so we will

see what happens after joe biden becomes the 46th president of the usa interesting but

we will try not to talk too much about politics because i some people like it and some people

don't it's a little bit like my beard you see some people like my beard and they want

to see more of it and some people hate my beard and they want to see nothing of it

us is very hard to do saying sorry

exclamation mark we all make mistakes and sometimes we say and do things that hurt or

upset other people more often than not we end up feeling bad about these events and

the emotion of regret takes over from our feeling of anger we suddenly feel the need

to say sorry for our actions and behaviour there are many ways of saying sorry i'm terribly

sorry for what i said to you i deeply regret my actions yesterday please accept my sincerest

apology i'm so very sorry for what i did i was in the wrong when i said those things

to you i did not mean to hurt you and now i regret it it was wrong of me to behave that

way and i'm sorry nothing i say or do will take that action away but now i want to make

it up to you by apologizing i realize my mistake now and i'm sorry i hope you can forgive me

i apologize wholeheartedly i hope we can still be friends i'm ever so sorry that's my bad

oh i'm sorry

you can also say sorry as a way of showing sympathy towards another person when you hear

some bad news from them i'm sorry to hear about your father's death i'm sorry to hear

that you lost your job i'm sorry to hear that you have been ill recently

of course the person you are apologizing to must accept your remorse and if they do they

can say that's quite all right i forgive you there is no need to apologize let's forget

it i accept your apology so do not worry yes i forgive you apology accepted hey i'm sorry

too okay let's just forget about it so we are friends again yes we should let bygones

be bygones oh that is all water under the bridge now sure i forgive you now come here

and give me a big hug

when we say sorry we offer our apology we show our remorse we apologize profusely we

ask for forgiveness we want to make amends

i'm sorry for eating your last banana do you forgive me yes i forgive you that's nice saying

sorry to another person can be a very difficult thing to do it can take us a long time to

offer an apology sometimes months or even years we often resist saying sorry because

in our own mind we feel that there is nothing to apologize for also there is the feeling

of losing face or backing down which can put us off apologizing to someone indefinitely

thus preventing us from ever saying sorry to that person

is there anyone in your life who you would like to say sorry to did you recently have

an argument with a friend or relative and did you say something to them that you now

regret saying sorry can be the hardest thing in the world to do but once you have said

it and it has been accepted then a huge weight will be lifted from your shoulders and your

friendship will be saved i suppose the big question must be is it worth destroying a

close relationship over a few badly chosen words surely the reply must be of course not

such a long time ago steve who was that in that video mr duncan i didn't recognize the

person in that video he was so young who was it was it was i really that young you it wasn't

you mr duncan don't be silly of course since you've had that scruffy beard nobody can recognize

you from your videos steve does not like my beard i hate it i've never i can i just say

now we've known each other we've known each other for many years over well nearly 31 years

and in that time i've never known steve to hate something about me as much as that i

i've never known steve to really be so so annoyed and almost angry you see the thing

is every most people are seem to support it don't you hello by the way hello oh this is

mr steve by the way this is this is i think he often comes around on sunday to say hello

talk about various things and today we are talking about mr steve's hatred i think that

would be a good good word to use well you see everybody seems to like it not quite everybody

but most people do in fact jay aganesh yes i've pronounced that correctly is growing

a beard just because you've got one really yes yes i noticed in the chat does that mean

i am now an influencer am i really an influencer oh my goodness i can't believe it i think

maybe next week i might just trim my beard i might cut my beard a little bit but i i

think the grey looks better the thing is it looks it might look good on camera but if

when i turn around and look at it from here close up steve you just different stories

you just look at that you just need to learn how to love the beard it's full of germs such

it's full of germs it's filthy it's not it's not full of germs i'll tell you nash you're

trying to get a partner it might not be a good idea touch it nobody likes to get near

those facial growths what i don't know maybe some women do maybe they're like the ticklish

feeling

if any if anyone out there their partner has a beard yes maybe your husband you like the

feeling of it when they maybe maybe there's no intimacy but i'd like to know what what

do you mean by that well i mean maybe maybe people are saying they'd like the look of

it but they wouldn't like to get anywhere near it okay but i don't know maybe i'm wrong

do you mean that that a man a man might grow a beard and his wife says she does like it

or she doesn't like it maybe maybe she says she does like it as an excuse to get out of

intimate relations but if she likes it but if you keep that beard but i don't want to

come near you but that doesn't please tell us do you does it yes does it is it's a turn

on to have a beard i want to know the details do you get excited when you see your husband

with his beard or maybe your wife with partner with your wife your wife with her beard yes

exactly you see i bet there aren't many women out there whose whose husbands would approve

of them having a beard yes so so imagine if it was reversed if your wife had had a beard

but but i think it's all right i don't think it's bad to be honest i i quite like my beard

even though it it i think it looks better on camera so i will agree with you there steve

palmyra knows me very well because the more you tell me not to do something steve knows

i've had nothing zero which is a shame really because today we are talking about well first

of all we we were talking just a few moments ago about saying sorry and also i've been

looking around the internet you see i i've been looking around the internet at some very

weird things mr steve have you ever heard of something called mukbang no mukbang is

a huge trend on the internet it's been around for the past maybe three or four years and

it's basically where people sit in front of their camera and they eat food and that's

it so it started in korea but slowly it has spread across the internet and at the same

time around the world so many people now are doing this what they have to do they have

to well what they what they do is they sit in front of their camera and they eat food

i mean this guy this guy is shoving a giant piece of chicken that's a guy into his mouth

okay it actually looks like his jaw is actually coming out of its socket right so this is

something a lot of people are now doing on the internet steve a lot of people don't realize

that the internet is a big place and there are lots of very unusual things so people

now sit in front of their cameras and they eat food and there are of course some extreme

versions of this for example there's this guy this guy is very well known on youtube

and he he just basically sits in front of his camera and he eats food in fact since

he started doing this mukbang he's actually put on weight so he used to be a very slim

guy but now he's he's huge and it's all because of youtube and mukbang so he he's gained so

much popularity over the years i'm not joking this is not a joke he he's actually gained

so much popularity he he does this all the time and he's actually put weight on so now

he's huge and he has to ride around and a little on a little scooter when he wants to

buy his food so he's got a so he was slim when he started and he's been eating because

of he's trying to gain popularity well he's got popularity yeah so so people have been

encouraging encouraging him to do it more and more so the more extreme he becomes the

more people want to watch it so they're almost enabling him yes to put weight on yes that

doesn't sound very healthy mr duncan yes um mohsin says it is an asmr video yes so this

is the auditory sensory

video where you listen to people doing things and apparently that some people put the microphone

very close to their mouths when they're eating so all you can hear is the sound disgusting

yes but apparently it's it's a huge trend and and people sit in front of their cameras

eating food sometimes large amounts of food like this guy and they get millions of views

millions and millions of people will sit and watch this the person whoever it is just putting

food into their mouths i don't like the sound of that mr duncan do you think there's something

you could start well i might start it myself i might start doing have my own mukbang channel

and then one day i i can i can be sort of doing this on camera that's disgusting yes

apparently this is it this is how you get your viewers don't talk okay don't don't just

stand talking about the english language and interesting subjects what you have to do is

just shove lots and lots of food into your mouth but the thing is we do sort of do that

don't we because in in some weeks we're we're stuffing food we're eating scones yes crisps

jaffa cakes in a way you're actually doing it i don't think it's quite the same as this

well so what what you need to do mr duncan is is have a bowl of food ready uh do a little

segment on teaching english like for example today how to say sorry and then we just stop

and just stuff our faces with high calorie food yes we could change the name of the channel

to mukbang english so we talk about a certain subject and then both of us we just get lots

of food and then just start eating it for about 10 minutes and then and then we clean

our faces we have a little drink of water and then we carry on with our english lesson

maybe talk about idioms yes idioms to do with putting lots of food into your face yes olga

says please stop showing us this guy i am strangely fascinated by this habit i will

be honest with you i it's a little bit like watching a car crash you shouldn't watch it

but you you kind of can't you can't stop yourself from watching it so for some people i think

the pleasure comes from just watching the person enjoy their food or maybe maybe there's

something else maybe they just want to watch people going out of control and getting fat

and then it makes them feel better because they're not doing that maybe there's a bit

of that as well yes uh but unusual things things which are sort of taboo in a way are

are very compulsive viewing yeah i mean we've got programs about aeroplanes crashing yes

as they reenact this seems to be your favourite subject by the way every week i don't know

how we do it but every week we end up talking about do we yeah i don't know why but but

this is not a new thing by the way mukbang is not a new thing because of course for many

years on american television you've had a program called man vs food and this guy would

often go around well he would travel around the united states sampling food but not just

normal portions of food but huge portions of food oh yeah so this guy in fact eventually

can you believe it this guy had to stop doing it because it was starting to affect his health

so he stopped doing it and now there's another guy doing it who between you and me he isn't

as good so i used to like watching that i i do like food well everybody does mr duncan

but i love food i love it i think food is incredible so let's just have a look steve

what's she said yes you should make these videos and then you will get to one million

subscribers oh i see yes of course last week we spoke about this how you can get 100 000

new subscribers this year to reach a million by the end of the year i am now 99 000 subscribers

away from 1 million so i still have 99 000. so we've had a thousand in a week well we've

not quite that high i think we ought to have a countdown every week to see how close we're

getting so in june we need to be halfway we need to set goals yes every month you know

everybody by june we need to be down to 50 000. i think by the time i get to one million

subscribers i think my beard will be will be right down to the floor i think my beard

will look like gandalf from lord of the rings oh what does taboo mean taboo yes it's a great

word taboo is often something that is forbidden something that you cannot do or cannot say

maybe a topic you mustn't discuss or talk about so the word taboo means forbidden something

that you are not allowed to do maybe in i suppose religion is a good example maybe in

certain religions there are things that you can't or should not do maybe you can't eat

a certain type of food or maybe you shouldn't do something on a certain day of the week

taboo something that is forbidden and that there are always subjects which are difficult

to talk about and would get you into trouble the implication by using the word taboo is

that if you actually do do that thing or say that thing you will get into trouble yes from

somebody or somewhere some people say that politics is is a taboo subject like last week

we we got into quite a long conversation last week about free speech because of everything

that was happening in the united states but it looks as if that might be put right this

week steve because we have a brand new president of the united states the 46th president joe

biden will be president biden it sounds very strange saying that he's had a few tries in

the past i finally got there i'm not going to lie now don't take this the wrong way because

i know it's the internet i know it's the internet but i i will slightly miss donald trump i

will slightly miss him but not for the reasons you're thinking not because i agree with him

but there is it's like entertainment i suppose it's a little bit like mukbang you're watching

something really grotesque but it's strangely fascinating at the same time so i think i

might i might miss not not for anything else though but it's like anything which you know

deep down is wrong yes if you keep on doing it yes you know something is going to go terribly

wrong eventually and of course it did with trump yes you know it was okay to to say oh

he's entertaining or we want to see more of him oh look at those crazy things he comes

out with and then he does something really crazy and you know did he ever insurrection

yeah but but you know that's what happens when you let people get out of control that's

it um so it'll be interesting to see what happens over the next few days and weeks and

months four years even yes so that that but yeah i do know what you mean yes i do know

what you mean because it's like again it's like watching something that you know you

you know you're not supposed to enjoy watching it but but you kind of do i used to love waiting

for his press conferences not because i wanted to hear what he had to say i just wanted to

experience the the the craziness of and and saying in the future i can say i was alive

i i was there i was experiencing this this crazy moment of humanity and we can say steve

that we lived through it well i think the the gene is out of the bottle on crazy when

it comes to politics now i i don't think it's going back in i don't think this is the last

will here from crazy politicians uh you know we've got a sort of a crazy one here one of

my one of my favourite quotes about getting into politics i can't remember who said it

i'm sure one of you will tell me out there in youtube land anyone that's that wants to

become a politician should not be a politician and i think that's a brilliant phrase so someone

who who wants that power so much probably shouldn't have it in the first place they

should not actually be allowed to have that power if they want it that badly because that

means they will probably do anything to get it you see so it's anyway we will have a corrupts

yes i just like money corrupts a little bit of it's all right but then if you have complete

power or more money than you know what to do with it it must be very difficult not to

become corrupted by it yes and think that you can get away with and do anything that's

it uh and that's the problem with money and power too much of anything so well i don't

have to worry about money because i i have none of that and i certainly don't have any

power so so i'm okay there steve would you like to change the subject would you like

to see something lovely we were talking about food it is food look at look at this steve

now this is something just just to keep that feeling of of enjoying food there is possibly

my most favourite meal so maybe i could do a mukba a mukbang video eating beans on toast

beans on toast with cheese yes now i remember when i was a a young lad probably maybe about

eight or nine cycling to my friend's house for tea one night he'd invited me around and

his mother was going to cook and she cooked beans on toast now we used to have beans on

toast but she his mother put cheese in the beans oh and i'd never tasted anything so

delicious so i went home and told my mother please mommy next time we have beans can can

you put some cheese in it as well because it's ever so nice i used to speak like that

you still do i used to speak ever so partially when i was younger hello mummy oh i love you

mommy i'm surprised i'm joking i'm surprised i am so surprised that steve was allowed to

eat beans on toast because i thought your mother might think it was very i don't know

very

well occasionally you know we would uh we don't have beans on toast in this house stephen

beans very good but yes i i beans with cheese in oh what a lovely combination and some mixed

herbs as well it just oh it just really brings the beans to life and last night we we had

chili con carne last night absolutely gorgeous but last night we decided to have it with

chips we had it with chips didn't we and can i just say chili con carne with chips absolutely

especially when you make your own chips in your airfry which mr steve brought for me

for christmas do you remember steve gave me an air fryer for christmas we have been using

it quite a lot and can i just say we have been making lots of chips healthy chips now

here's another chips it's just to prove how the appearance of food can i just say something

quickly yes the other thing i love with beans is to add some garam masala which is a kind

of curry powder yes uh oh i love that in beans as well curry beans but cheesy beans i think

are my favourite so it's very strange some people say that we eat with our eyes which

i think is an interesting statement and and it also might be very true as well so i think

we do actually eat with our eyes when we see something that we we find appealing visually

quite often we want we want to put it in our mouths don't we oh yes it's the smell that

looks is that lasagna that is lasagna oh look at this that now i'm sure there are many people

now watching and their mouths are watering or is it moussaka no it's lasagna lasagna

yes definitely somehow an italian dish i want to try an experiment now very popular in the

uk i want to try an experiment steve so this is lasagna and you can see the beautiful colours

of the sauce and the pasta and now look at this look at this steve

cucumber does that give you the same feeling uh no because i don't like cucumber no and

also it's not that interesting my eyes are saying to me that that that isn't appealing

it's saying no no but but look look what happens when we do that

oh i want to sink my mouth i think into that see lasagna i think is italian isn't it it

is but we also love musaka which i think is greek but it could be turkish as well uh which

is very similar to lasagna but instead of the pasta layers of pasta you've got aubergines

uh and oh i think i think i prefer moussaka yes to the sang yeah so you you have a contrast

between this now my eyes are now saying boring yummy boring yummy you see so i think it is

true we do actually eat not only with our mouth but also with our eyes as well i think

so i mean we know the the the foods that are good for us the vegetables i mean we need

protein so we need some kind of protein meat cheese you know vegetarian whatever you have

we need protein so our bodies will be attracted to that and but if you've had it before you

know it'll taste nice as well um but but see you look at vegetables and because most people

i would say

probably don't really like vegetables well i i think what i'm talking about is the is

the actual physical feeling it gives you so when you see something that looks delicious

your eyes do something your eyes and your brain are doing something they're not just

seeing it something else is happening there it is stirring your appetite it is it it is

not just so i think that is one of the salt the fat yes the protein all that sort of thing

i'm just coming back mr duncan two ticks i'm just going in here okay then steve just walked

out of the studio you don't normally just walk off but somebody just uh whose name i

will not pronounce correctly uh ut utkash or utkash says it's dinner time in india and

asked me about this garam masala let's have a look so that's it yes look at that that's

what i put into my uh well i put it into lots of things garam masala it's not it's not it's

very tasty it smells i just love the smell of it oh it's it's supposedly put into curries

right towards the end of cooking to give it a bit more flavor yeah but it's it's a good

one to just to shove into beans on toast i like how this is just nothing to do with what

i'm actually talking about what were you talking about mr duncan well the thing i'm talking

about is people wanting to push food into their mouths just just you know like like

this steve beatrice yes look like that's disgusting i know it is disgusting when it when it's

done like that so a lot of people do like to to watch other people eating on camera

anybody uh we talked about lasagna and we've also mentioned moussaka oh yes have we got

anybody from greece watching or from turkey oh yes uh i think it's a greek dish but i'd

like to be stand corrected exactly because i do remember when when we went to turkey

we were in turkey we've been there a couple of times we actually saw masaka being served

there as well so so yes but i think originally it was it was greek although i have a feeling

we are we're we're walking into a bit of a minefield here beatrice has vegetarian ascent

yeah sometimes yes that's fine and that is nice no problem because there's already lots

of flavour if you've got cheese in there anyway cheese and vegetables then there's always

going to be flavour in there and it can look nice anyway so so vegetable lasagna looks

as as nice and as appetizing as lasagna with meat so it isn't actually the the thing itself

that i'm talking about it's it's actually the effect it has on on your your body when

you look at food isn't it strange to sneeze mr duncan it's because i've been uh breathing

in the uh this um palm mirror

i turned the microphone down then it's always around this about halfway through i start

sneezing are you sure are you sure it's the garam masala and not coronavirus rosa asks

what is garam masala it is as you can see stop opening it it's it's it's it's basically

you could describe it as curry powder yes it's slightly different than the one you would

start a curry with stop it oh it's my favourite spice you know what i love about steve let

me let me four years four years of doing this and he still doesn't understand the the rules

of studio etiquette so we've got oh ground these are all ground spices you've got coriander

no one cares but people are asking coriander cumin turmeric

black pepper can you read that ginger is it too small dill yes sometimes mr steve can

be a bit of a dill i like this one a teaspoon in in beans it's are we being sponsored by

you're 60 and somebody says you only look 40 or when you're 50 and somebody says you

only look 30 well that's quite good because 30 you know people age 30 look quite good

but when you're 90 and somebody says you only look 70 it's not really a compliment because

even looking nobody wants to look 70 do they well no really i mean when you get there you're

probably very accepting of it but it's no good i don't think saying to somebody who's

really really old oh you look 10 years or you look 80

because i don't think they'll find that i don't think they'll say that that's a compliment

if you don't drink huge amounts of alcohol and you take exercise and you stay the same

zoom meetings with his work colleagues they they always say oh steve looking sexy today

oh steve you look great steve you never seem to get older they do say that i've heard them

say it they say steve you you never seem to age why don't you ever get older and it is

weird i mean you are a significant age this year true in in just a few weeks maybe three

or four weeks from now it's it's steve's birthday so i think it's it's good i think it's a good

subject anyway i know we are straying off the thing is somebody's asked what's your

secret but if i there are no secrets it's just what you do and the things that i do

we're going to sound so boring people are going to say what a boring life you lead no

no smoking no drinking not overeating taking exercise you know that you might some people

might say well that's no way to enjoy life but but for me that's that is enjoyment i

don't like to drink lots of alcohol because it just makes me feel ill the next day yes

plus i saw what it did to my father yeah i would go into that okay someone's watching

from the family it's a bit too late now you just earlier you said i'm sorry mum you look

old that's great see my yes my well i can say that he did used to smoke an awful lot

your father was 40 60 a day and lots of alcohol because he was in the navy so you know and

that aged him rapidly yes and the beard of course when he grew the beard that uh he looked

a lot older i know what you're trying to do there you are not going to shame me do i use

moisturizing cream yes i do but not on his face uh i do use i do use it on my face because

i've got very dry skin so i've always used moisturizing cream okay i use what do i use

a very cheap one yes okay uh you know what it's called now what's it called well let's

just say moisturizing cream it doesn't matter what the brand is yeah but it's brilliant

and i've used it for about 20 years look look steve this is how the internet works i can't

remember we say things maybe a product and then and then that that company will send

us loads of money you don't just do it for free so that's it maybe we could do a whole

program on anti-aging yes and what are mr steve's secrets and i can tell you all the

things mr duncan does to make him look older than he actually is the first one being growing

a beard sorry i'm only four years younger than you a lot of people don't realize that

i'm only four years younger than steve so we are approximately the same age you might

not realize it i know steve look his face is like a big baby he looks like he should

be lying asleep in a pram or or a cut snoring away dribbling oh hang on he does do that

i do sleep a lot he did sleep a lot i probably yes i probably haven't lived as long as i

would have done had i not spent most of it asleep sarri says you can't age when you're

asleep sarri says mr steve is jealous of your beard duncan in capitals so is it hard to

say what about you steve have you ever had to say sorry in your life yes oh yes yes any

particular moments of time you want to share with us oh i don't know you haven't do you

haven't prepared me for this mr duncan i apologize to you quite often when i when i lose my temper

over silly things and cause you stress yes that is that is not that is a little bit too

candied yes when steve is smashing the house up with his fists there are walls in our house

that have huge holes in them and a lot of people come around and say oh that's very

nice we like what you've done there with your wall with all of those holes and i say yes

steve did them with his fists and his feet you're joking sometimes that anger out yes

you can't keep it bottled up inside i've never i've never seen anyone snap a laptop in half

yes with their hands you don't want to be near me when i lose my temper steve can do

it people don't believe it but i really really when i lose my temper that's it it's just

it's it's like it's like nuclear war is it that's just everything

so there you go that was more information than i was expecting see i thought you was

just going to say oh i said sorry once to my mother for spilling some water on the floor

not i'm i'm a bit of a sociopath sometimes i'm just trying when's the last time you apologized

to anyone for anything oh i can't remember i i because i never do anything wrong you

you say sorry to your customers sometimes that's it for my customers i'm sorry in fact

you see that's the thing about sales people if anyone there is in sales you can do a brilliant

job at selling your product to your customer and then you can be let down by the company

who doesn't produce it or either it's got faults or it's not on time but being the salesperson

you have to take that flak you have to take the abuse from the customer so i mean i'm

always apologizing to customers for uh mistakes that the company are constantly making which

are out of my control but the thing is the thing is steve steve has steve has such a

good nature he has such a good nature you see it doesn't last very long their anger

will soon pass because of steve's magic power you see he has this wonderful power that i

don't know how he does it but people ask him what moisturizer i'm using it's not nivea

no and it's not the simple cream i know the one you mean it's not one of those mass-produced

ones i've been using it for years mr duncan what's it called i think you might need to

put some on your brain i can't remember what it's called maybe your brain is is unbelievable

maybe your brain has become too soft you must remember what it's called i don't remember

it i'll go and fetch if anyone is anyone really want to know i can always go infectious it's

not that important steve it is to me it isn't because it's a product we've we've got to

stop advertising other people's products on our show because there we go what creases

do you use people you're asking me yes it's very good it's not greasy and it will last

for 24 hours and it's it's only it's only four pounds for a tube which lasts about a

and he gave me some samples and i tried it i thought this is brilliant and i've been

using it ever since now you are supposed to change your moisturizer but because it's your

skin's supposed to get used to but anyway that's uh yes i i'm not really selling it

but yes it's it's got oats in it or something um that i don't know how it works but you

put it on it lasts about 24 hours and it's totally non-greasy it's wonderful yes great

uh and i i i i if someone i ever lose my job okay steve steve you've got to sort of know

when to just take a pause take a breath if anyone from johnson and johnson are watching

at the moment and they need a sales person who believes in their product

it's either that or i work for ford selling mustangs you're doing the advert now you've

got to bus if you're in sales you've got to believe what you're selling believe in the

product otherwise the passion can't come through to the customer

so it's going to be chocolates it's going to be belgian chocolates uh godiva it's going

to be ford mustangs or it's going to be aveeno's moisturizer one of those three so why aren't

you selling any of those things the thing you sell is fairly boring actually that's

make you look younger stop it but it will it uh it will just you know stop me having

dry patches and things like that stop advertising none of these moisturizers work if you if

you go i mean we've watched something on television haven't we have we uh was it was it that car

cartoon with the bunny they can't reverse aging that's their moisturizers what's up

duck that was the cartoon wasn't it we watched on television is that that was that the one

you went about no i was done about the shopping channel oh the shopping channel okay where

they were selling uh where are you going by the way moisture i don't know where am i going

uh but yeah if you already got lots of wrinkles that won't get rid of them it's too late you

know you need a time machine

but is that a surgery is that a joke though but if there's one thing i would say stay

out of the sun yes because that ages you more than anything else and that's everyone that

and cigarettes if you're on the planet earth or in space stay away from the sun because

your spaceship will melt

it's good advice for everyone if you're on the planet earth or in space stay away from

the sun the only thing i'd say about that is you you do have to have a little bit of

sun uh in order to make vitamin d otherwise you'll have brittle bones and you get older

so but just keep your face out of it that's the only thing that people really see well

isn't it most of the time you only need 10 minutes 10 or 15 10 minutes a day with your

arms exposed to generate enough vitamin d apparently either that or take a vitamin d

okay wouldn't this advice only be useful to sort of babies yeah well that's it you've

got to realize uh you've got to do it when you're young it was my mother that said to

me stay out of the sun when i was very young because she said because her mother always

said to her stay out of the sun that's why she kept you in that box and my mother's skin

for her age is unbelievable steve's mum's skin is amazing because she's never sunbathed

because she had she's got very fair skin and therefore she burns in the sun okay and her

mother told her not to and my mother said to me don't because i've got quite fair skin

most boring story ever the numbers have gone up two since we started that's johnson and

lockdown i don't i don't understand what that was because a lot of people's relationships

have been tested to the limit in lockdown because husbands and wives partners have been

forced together for much longer periods of time than normal and a lot of i mean i'm talking

to friends at work and they're saying you know i'm not used to spending this much time

with my partner no nobody they're driving me mad because they're both having to work

from home normally how much time would you spend with your partner in an average day

you'd get up maybe a couple of hours in the morning 20 minutes you go to work eight hours

you come back and then you've only got a few hours in the evening you go to bed so in most

days you're only probably spending about three or four hours together yeah but in lockdown

you're spending 24 7 so it's put a great strain on people's relationships it has well some

people have have gone to absolute extremes that's one of the reasons why i've aged so

much so this this is actually just age that has been created by having to spend every

day with mr steve this is what happened this is what you end up looking like after after

a year in lockdown with mr steve i think the only reason you've grown that beard is laziness

i think people who grow beards are lazy that is you are offending every every bearded person

in the world now actually actually i'm i'm joking because actually beards are actually

more hard work to maintain they take more effort than just shaving because you can shave

i can shave in about two minutes done i can't believe you just said that you said that every

person with a beard is lazy how dare you but i was sort of joking okay steve you have to

have pauses sometimes how dare you how dare you you see like that is that uh was that

um well-known uh environmentalist from a nordic country it's i can't remember the country
