I'm normally having a rest putting my feet up and taking it easy however today

we are doing some things slightly different because today is pancake day

it is Shrove Tuesday and I know what some of

you might be saying you're thinking you might be saying or thinking what is

pancake day what is Shrove Tuesday Shrove Tuesday is

a special day for many people for some people who want to have fun they will go

into their kitchens and they will make pancakes and that is what I'm going to

try and do today so I'm going to try I'm going to attempt to make some pancakes

Shrove derives from absolve which means cast out one sins and be forgiven so

once again you will see that this is a religious festival so the word Shrove

people it is the beginning of Lent and of course we have I think it's 42 days

so Lent normally takes place over I think it's 40 days I might be wrong

but then of course we have Easter as well so in around about 40 days from now

it will be Easter chocolate Easter eggs lots of sweet delicious food thank you

so what I'm going to try and do I'm not sure if it will work but what I'm going

to try and do is make some pancakes so there you can see I have some things

prepared I have some things prepared I have some flour but I actually don't

think I need this I don't think I need the flour so this is flour although I

don't think I actually need this which I will be revealing in a moment why I

don't need this also we need we need one egg so we only need

one egg what just one that's all to make a delicious pancake all you need is one

egg I also need they also need some water as

well so I have my water prepared water water water now we are going to make our

pancakes in the frying pan which means I will have to use a little bit of oil as

well so this is very important before you start to make your pancake you need

a little bit of oil in your frying pan

which I have here so here is my lovely frying pan frying pan I've had this

frying pan for many years a very long time and also we need to to get the

pancake out of the frying pan afterwards so here I have my spatula I love that

word this is a spatula spatula you use spatula you use a spatula to get it out

we are making pancakes today with me mr. Denker now I have to make a confession I

have to confess something I suppose it's a good day to do it because this is the

day where you have to prepare to give up your sins and to be absolved so I have a

confession to make right now the confession is I'm not

going to make these pancakes from scratch when you make something from

scratch it means you do something from the very start so today I am going to

cheat a little bit I have some pancake mix so this is a

special kind of mix it already has most of the ingredients in the box already so

yes I am cheating before anyone says before anyone says anything I am going

to tell you now that I am cheating and this is the way I'm going to cheat I'm

going to use some pancake mix so this will instantly make my pancakes I have

made pancakes before Christine I have a couple of years ago in fact I did a live

stream I think it was in 2018 yes I think it was maybe 2018 or maybe even

2017 so there we go so this oh oh I've just noticed something oh dear well

that's awkward unfortunately I've just noticed that

this pancake mix expired two years ago so unfortunately this look at that

February 2018 this particular product expired so I'm going to take a risk I'm

going to use this even though it expired two years ago I think I'll be alright

has anyone ever died from eating expired food has anyone ever done that has ever

anyone ever died from eating expired food I don't think so I don't think it's

ever happened so I will move around slightly I will adjust my camera so you

why I say I'm cheating is because i am using instant mix in instant mix so this

particular thing is something i bought from the shops to help me make my bank

easily the only problem is this particular pancake mix is actually out

of date two years ago I don't think this is going to work to be honest I think

this is good to be a terrible terrible disaster so I'm not sure if because this

is out of date it expired two years ago it might not be any good

it looks like an omelet I think I've accidentally made an omelet instead of a

pancake I don't know how that's possible but there it is there is my lovely

pancake and my pancake I am going to put some a little bit of syrup some syrup on

my pancake beatrice says it looks tasty it looks very tasty

it tastes the right how strange it tastes quite good I'm going to have to

of syrup some golden syrup onto my pancake and then I'm going to eat it

so I'm feeling very brave now because I've got this far I feel as if I have

enough courage to try this pancake there we go a little bit of syrup so you

always put syrup on your pancakes I like syrup some people put lemon juice

some people put fruit some people put cream on their pancakes but I am going

to put some syrup so there you can see my my pancake covered with syrup it

doesn't look too bad does it the big question is what does it taste like so

here we go the moment of truth I am now going to try and eat this without being

sick here we go I have a fork here here is my lovely fork so let's see what we

have what does it taste like does it taste brilliant or does it taste

disgusting here we go here goes nothing

Class A is surprisingly nice it's actually quite nice it's not the worst

pancake I've ever tasted it's not the worst it certainly isn't

the best but it's okay
