Meaning of HIT THE ROAD- A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So in English if someone says that they are going to hit the road it doesn't mean that

따라서 영어로 누군가가 길을 가겠다고 말한다고 해서

they're going to go out to the road and hit it with their fist.

도로로 나가서 주먹으로 때리라는 뜻은 아닙니다.

It means that they are going to get in their vehicle and they are going to leave.

그것은 그들이 차를 타고 떠날 것이라는 의미입니다.

So, generally when we are getting ready to go somewhere we say that we are getting ready

그래서 일반적으로 우리는 어딘가에 갈 준비를 할 때

to hit the road, and then when we do actually leave we usually say, "I'm going to hit the

길을 갈 준비를 하고 있다고 말하고 실제로 떠날 때 보통 이렇게 말합니다.

road now, I'll see you at whatever place we happen to be going to."
