Learn the English Phrases DRAGGING YOUR FEET and ALL WORK AND NO PLAY - An English Lesson

So I'm really dragging my feet today.

You can also say I'm really dragging my heels today.

When you drag your feet or you drag your heels,

it means that you have stuff to do

and you're just not working on it very hard

or very fast, or at all. (laughs)

I have been pretty busy lately

and I didn't sleep very good last night.

I had a bad sleep.

So I'm tired.

So today, I'm definitely dragging my feet.

So that means I'm going slowly. (chuckles)

I'm already behind responding to comments on my video

that went up on my bigger channel this morning.

By the way, it's a pretty cool video.

And I'm still teaching online,

but I'm certainly dragging my feet today.

So I'm going slowly, I am getting stuff done,

but not as fast as I normally do.

I feel like sleep is super important.

When you have good sleep, you have a good day at work.

Anyways, I hope you're not dragging your feet today.

Hope you're energetic and well.

And it reminded me of the phrase, all work and no play.

So when you say all work and no play

it's usually followed up by saying,

something like, makes Bob a dull boy.

So all work and no play makes Bob, me, a dull boy.

You can insert your name in if you want.

Because I think I need a holiday.

But I can't really go anywhere for a holiday.

Normally, Jen and I, we would have went away

for at least one weekend in 2020, so far.

But we're just kinda stuck at home.

So again, I'm not complaining,

but I am dragging my feet a little bit today.

I do still like making videos for all of you.

I do still like my job.

But I am feeling a little bit like all work and no play

makes Bob a dull boy.

So hopefully, I can have a bit of a break

at some point, we'll see.
