Meaning of HAPPY NEW YEAR - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

Well, Happy New Year.

Today is January 1, 2020 or 2020,

as we sometimes say in English,

and it is the first day of the new year.

It is New Year's Day, my paper is not cooperating.

It is New Year's Day,

and this is one of my favorite days of the year.

This is the day where I usually sit back

and I think of new ideas,

and I think about my life,

and I think about the things that I wanna keep the same

and the things that maybe I want to change.

Sometimes I make a few New Year's resolutions.

A New Year's resolution is when you make

a promise to yourself to do something in the new year.

Sometimes people promise themselves

that they'll eat less or they'll exercise more

or they'll be nicer to people.

My New Year's resolution is to stay healthy.

I do a lot to stay healthy.

But my New Year's resolution is also to just continue

making English lessons on YouTube for all of you to watch.

So anyways, I hope that you have a Happy New Year.

I hope that you are having a really good New Year's Day,

and I hope that you are just relaxing,

spending time with family.

Maybe start eating a little bit less today,

and maybe have a nap this afternoon.
