ADVICE vs. ADVISE pronunciation | American English

Today I'd like to talk to you about the two words: advice versus advise.

今日は、 アドバイスとアドバイスという 2 つの言葉についてお話したいと思います。

'advice', the noun, as in 'I need an advice from you'.

「アドバイス」、名詞、 「あなたからのアドバイスが必要です」など。

And 'advise', the verb, as in 'I'd like to advise you on something'.

動詞の 'advise' は、'I'd like to advice you on something' のようになります。

They both begin the same - 'uhd'.

どちらも同じ「uhd」で始まります。

So, it's a reduced vowel - a schwa, and then a D sound.

つまり、これは母音を減らしたもので、 シュワ、そして D の音です。

So it's not [a]dvice or [aa]dvice, it's 'uh' - 'uhd'.

[a]dvice や [aa]dvice ではなく、'uh' - 'uhd' です。

Then the primary stress is different, depending on the word.

For the noun - advice, it's a V sound going to the [aɪ]

The word 'advise' ends with a Z sound, with a Z as in 'zebra' - 'uhd-VAIZ',

it's a voiced sound versus a voiceless S.
