This is a check-up video for articles, prepositions, and adjectives.

I’ve written some sentences on the board.

The first sentence says, “It’s __ ___umbrella.”

We have the noun.

നമുക്ക് നാമം ഉണ്ട്.

We need an article and an adjective to describe the umbrella.

കുടയെ വിവരിക്കാൻ ഒരു ലേഖനവും വിശേഷണവും വേണം.

So here it is.

അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇതാ.

Let’s describe the color.

നമുക്ക് നിറം വിവരിക്കാം.

We would say ‘black’.

നമ്മൾ 'കറുപ്പ്' എന്ന് പറയും.

Remember, the adjective comes before the noun.

ഓർക്കുക, നാമവിശേഷണം നാമത്തിന് മുമ്പായി വരുന്നു.

Now we need an article.

ഇനി നമുക്ക് ഒരു ലേഖനം വേണം.

And the correct article is ‘a’.

പിന്നെ ശരിയായ ലേഖനം 'എ' ആണ്.

“It’s a black umbrella.”

"ഇതൊരു കറുത്ത കുടയാണ്."

Okay.

Next, “It’s ___ ___ ___.”

അടുത്തത്, "ഇത് ____________ ആണ്."

We have three blanks.

ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് മൂന്ന് ശൂന്യതയുണ്ട്.

Here, we have the noun ‘ant’.

So, we’re going to put that at the end.

Should we use ‘a’ or ‘an’?

നമ്മൾ 'a' അല്ലെങ്കിൽ 'an' ഉപയോഗിക്കണോ?

Well, ‘ugly’ starts with the vowel ‘u’, so we have to say ‘an’.

ശരി, 'ഉ' എന്ന സ്വരാക്ഷരത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് 'വൃത്തികെട്ട' ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്, അതിനാൽ നമുക്ക് 'അൻ' എന്ന് പറയേണ്ടിവരും.

What article should we use?

We have the noun ‘girl’…and the adjective ‘nice’.

So, we need the article.

അതിനാൽ, ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ലേഖനം ആവശ്യമാണ്.

We’re going to say “a”.

ഞങ്ങൾ "എ" എന്ന് പറയാൻ പോകുന്നു.

Now, we’re missing one more thing.

ഇപ്പോൾ നമുക്ക് ഒരു കാര്യം കൂടി നഷ്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

We need the ‘be’ verb ‘am’.

Okay, let’s move on to the next part.

Look at it carefully.

That’s why we said, “They are…they’re” and “oranges” …with an ‘s’.

Can we use ‘the’?

No, you don’t know what oranges I’m talking about because it’s the first time I said

Then, can I use ‘a’ or ‘an’?

No, ‘a’ or ‘an’ is used for any one thing.

Now, again, you know I’m talking about these specific oranges, so we use ‘the’.

The preposition we need is ‘under’.

They’re not ‘on’, “they’re ‘under’ the chair.”

Now, we have two short stories here.

Can you find the mistake?

Remember, the adjective ‘blue’ has to go between the article and the noun.

ശരി.

ഓർക്കുക, 'നീല' എന്ന വിശേഷണം ലേഖനത്തിനും നാമത്തിനും ഇടയിലായിരിക്കണം.

So, we have to move the article to the front.

അതിനാൽ, നമുക്ക് ലേഖനം മുന്നിലേക്ക് മാറ്റേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.

“It’s a blue snake.”

"ഇതൊരു നീല പാമ്പാണ്."

That is the correct answer.

അതാണ് ശരിയായ ഉത്തരം.

“It’s a blue snake.”

"ഇതൊരു നീല പാമ്പാണ്."

Okay, the next one.

ശരി, അടുത്തത്.

“The snake under the box.”

"പെട്ടിക്കടിയിലെ പാമ്പ്."

It sounds right.

അത് ശരിയാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു.

“The snake under the box.”,

“പെട്ടിക്കടിയിലെ പാമ്പ്.”,

but we forgot the ‘be’ verb.

What’s the mistake?

There’s only one.

ഒന്നേ ഉള്ളൂ.

So, we don’t use ‘are’, we have to say “is”.

അതിനാൽ, നമ്മൾ 'are' ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നില്ല, "ആണ്" എന്ന് പറയണം.

“The octopus is under the chair.”

"ഒക്ടോപസ് കസേരയുടെ കീഴിലാണ്."
