Speaking English: When to use 'THE' with places

So, we do not use the word "the" when we talk about continents.

When you mention the name of a city, do not put the word "the".

When you talk about streets, right?

Main Street in this case is the name of the street, ok?

So for example, here in Toronto we have another street, it's called Yonge Street.

We do use the word "the" when we're talking about deserts.

Whenever we're talking about large areas, we also use the word "the".

That kind of thing, we would also use "the".

Now they don't usually use the whole term, but that is the official term.
