How to Learn English: "What are you going to do?" Using the Spoken English Question

Bob the Canadian here and I just wanted to talk to you today about a question you'll

hear quite often in everyday English conversation and that question is, "What are you going

일상 영어 대화에서 꽤 자주 듣게 될 질문에 대해 이야기하고 싶었습니다. 그 질문은 "무엇을 할 건가요

to do?"

?"입니다.

You'll hear this question quite often after a statement is made like,

"Oh no, there's no more milk in the refrigerator!"

"오 안돼, 냉장고에 우유가 없어!"

"What are you going to do?"

"무엇을 할 건가요?"

"Oh no, I lost my dog!"

"오 안돼, 내 개를 잃어버렸어!"

"What are you going to do?"

"무엇을 할 건가요?"

Now we don't say it that clearly in everyday English conversation.

이제 우리는 일상 영어 대화에서 그렇게 명확하게 말하지 않습니다 .

We actually take the first part of the question, "What are you" and we shorten it down to "What're

우리는 실제로 "What are you"라는 질문의 첫 번째 부분을 취하여 "What're

ya".

ya"로 줄입니다.

***Note this is not real english, just how it sounds.

***이것은 실제 영어가 아니며 소리로만 들립니다.

I know it sounds a little bit strange, "What are you" becomes "What're ya" and the second

"What are you"는 "What're ya"가 되고

part of the question, "going to do" becomes "gonna do".

질문의 두 번째 부분인 "going to do"는 "gonna do"가 됩니다.

So you end up with a question that sounds more like this, "What're ya gonna do?"

그래서 "무엇을 할 건가요?"와 같은 질문을 하게 됩니다.

"What're ya gonna do?"

"어떡할거야?"

"Oh no there's no more milk in the fridge."

"아, 냉장고에 우유가 없어요."

"What're you gonna do?"

"어떡할거야?"

"Oh no i lost my dog!"

"오 안돼, 내 개를 잃어버렸어!"

"What're ya gonna do?"

"어떡할거야?"

And then the first part of the question also has another variation to it and that variation

그리고 질문의 첫 번째 부분 에는 또 다른 변형이 있습니다. 그 변형은

is, "Whatcha."

"Whatcha."입니다.

So you'll often hear people say, "Whatcha gonna do?"

그래서 사람들이 "어떻게 할거야? "라고 말하는 것을 자주 듣게 될 것입니다.

"Oh no, I've lost my cat!"

"오 안돼, 고양이를 잃어버렸어!"

"Whatcha gonna do?"

"어떡할거야?"

Well that's the question, "What are you going to do?"

"무엇을 하시겠습니까?"라는 질문입니다.
