And today we're going to learn the verb "to have".

Aujourd'hui nous allons apprendre le verbe "to have" (avoir)

Now, the difficult thing about this verb is, is has to change when we use he and she.

Ce qui est difficile avec ce verbe c'est qu'il change quand on utilise "he" et "she" (il et elle)

the rest of them don't change when we use different pronouns.

Les autres formes ne changent pas quand on utilise d'autres pronoms

I will conjugate the verb for you and you can just learn how to do this.

We say "I have"

On dit "I have"

"He" and "she"

"He" et "she"

These are the ones that are important, we have to use "has".

Ce sont ceux qui sont importants, ici on doit utiliser "has"

Because these are singular people.

Parce que sont des personnes singulières

"I", "he", " she." Then we have

"I", "he", "she" (je, il, elle). Ensuite nous avons

"They" and the last one is "we".

"They" (ils ou elles) et le dernier est "we" (nous)

Both "they" and "we" are two people; at least two people.

"They" et "we" font tous les deux référence à deux personnes au minimum

We can say, "they have"

On peut dire, "they have"

and "we have"

et "we have"

ok? so the very.. difficult and most important ones to remember here

are if it's a singular person, "he" or "she", we need to change the verb to "has".

The next thing is the negative form of these verbs.

Le prochain point est la forme négative de ces verbes

In the negative, we have to use the word in English "don't".

Au négatif, on doit utiliser le mot anglais "don't"

So, we're going to say:

Donc, on dira

"I don't have"

"I don't have"

For example, "I don't have a cat"

Par exemple, "je n'ai pas de chat"

"I don't have a dog"

"je n'ai pas de chien"

"They", we can use the same word, "don't have".

Pour "They" on utilisera le même mot, "don't have"

So we can say: "they don't have any hamburgers"

Donc on peut dire: "ils n'ont pas d'hamburgers"

And again we because we use have we can say "We don't have".

Pareil pour we, "We don't have"

For this one unfortunately I can't say "He don't has".

Malheureusement pour celui ci, on ne peut pas dire "He don't has"

That would be too easy for you guys. We actually have to change this word

When we change the past of had into the negative is where it becomes a little difficult

and I think a lot of the times in Britain and in British english

You can say

But this is very unnatural for us

Mais ce n'est pas très naturel pour nous

us being people from Canada and people from America

Nous au Canada, et les gens aux Etats-Unis

And modern day english

We just don't use "I had not." It's very Shakespearean. If you're into Shakespeare you'd know this

On n'utilise pas "I had not". C'est très Shakespearien. Si vous aimez Shakespeare vous devriez savoir de quoi je parle

I had to not eat in that...which is kinda weird. So
