We are gonna carry on with the story.

Do you remember

we started The Holiday story with Emma and John?

We're gonna carry on with that

and do this as a listening activity.

It's about planning a holiday.

So, I want you to listen

to part two of the story, The Holiday,

and tick the box when you hear the exact words.

So, I'm referring to, huh, this box.

The box that has disappeared.

Come back, box. Where are you?

Here's the box.

♪ Da, da, da, da, da ♪

Okay. (clears throat)

So, listen to part two of the story, The Holiday,

and tick the box like this box or this box

or this box when you hear the exact words.

So, if you hear in the story,

blah, blah, blah, blah, book the hotels,

then you mark that box in your head.

If you hear them say,

blah, blah, blah, find the hotels, it doesn't count.

You hear the exact words in the box.

When you have three boxes in a row like that or like that,

or even, you could have three diagonal.

You could have this one.

You can have this one maybe, and that one.

Once you've got three in a row in any way,

then just type bingo in the chat

and type the phrases,

book the hotels, throw caution to the wind, a bad time.

Having chosen their destination,

Emma and John now had to book the flights,

decide where to stay, what to visit, and make a budget.

Booking the flights was a piece of cake,

because there was a budget airline

that went from London to Vienna, so they used that one.

Organizing accommodation was not so straightforward.

They could opt for a hotel or an apartment.

Emma preferred the idea of a hotel in the middle of town

where everything was taken care of,

but John was up for renting an apartment on Airbnb,

because of the independence it gave them.

They mulled it over,

and Emma tried talking John

into the idea of booking a hotel, a nice hotel,

so they didn't have to worry

about self-catering or cleaning.

John was hesitant,

but in the end, he agreed to throw caution to the wind

and splash out on a four-star hotel,

slap bang in the city center.

Finally, when it came to budgets, they both agreed.

They weren't used to budgeting for holidays.

They both felt this was a one-off, so they would spend

as much as they wanted to have a good time.

Right. Okey cokey.
