i'm from canada where are you from i'm from india

ah very good so where where in india southern part of india there is a place

called karnataka inside karnataka there is a city called

bangalore there are 11. okay okay cool

cool and uh how old are you i'm 11 years old

okay very good i have a cousin that's 13 now i think

or 12 yeah yeah same age as you what what year were

you born in i was i don't know the year i was born

but i know the date oh okay

um so well if you're 11 and it's 2022 that means you were born

in 2011 right

i don't know the exact exact year but i know it must be 2011.

okay cool cool and uh that means you're in grade

5 6

6 right okay

cool cool and how long have you been learning

english for i've been speaking english from uh i

can't say nothing or lgg but little little words

not much i would not know nicely i would

know just little words not much all right i prefer little words anyway

i think they're they're better um

cool and do you have brothers and sisters

my brothers and sisters that are also learning english my brother is just very

young and i think he's i'm just he's just learning from now one but my

sister but my sister was running i think from the one year back she was

but she speaks less english okay right that's all right i mean she's

she is your sister the youngest no my sister is just

uh six years old and my brother is in lkg means he's four years old

oh okay i understand i understand so your brother knows more english even

though he's two years younger no my brother knows less english he just

can speak less english but my sister can also

speak english but a little more than my brother

okay i understand

and um do you live close to your school or do

you have to travel a long way i live close to a school

okay very good how long does it take you to

get there some one or two minutes

okay awesome awesome that's like really really close

is it a big school i think so

okay do you know how many students they might

have i don't know how my school students they might have

okay what what if you guessed what would you guess they have

um 35

oh can you say again 35

i don't know that word um 35

more than one more than three or four more than ten million

9036 million oh in your city

no i think in a school it's big to me oh okay yeah more than 10 million is

this number that's pretty crazy

it's got a bit too many zeros i think like the really big schools have

this many well i think i have not experienced it

fully i'm in sixth so i've not experienced it fully but i can say it

must be having from uh first standard to 12th standard so i think there will be

more children than teachers so i think it must be

okay and you know that would make sense since

there's many classes and stuff like that yeah

okay so i see this is your first time on cambly right

yes okay okay so

there's a few different things that people like to do on cambly

um some people like to [Music]

just have conversations other people like to do cambly lessons

um can i can he show you what a cambly

lesson looks like yes

okay um here we'll go to the first one open

that up so cambly lessons are pretty easy

they just have a little bit of oh sorry oh no what's happening there

there we go they just have a few questions just open up like what's your

favorite food and then they have some vocabulary which

i think you know most at least all of or all of these right

um and then they have

some questions is this grammar that i missed

oh no yeah that was fine then they have some more

questions some paragraphs to read to check your pronunciation

[Music] or to check how correctly you speak

and then

yeah just a whole bunch of different different questions so you talk about

different topics and some grammar um

did that make sense to you yes yeah okay

another thing that i like to do is use a website

called engu um can i show you that website

yes okay sure

so can you can you see this right here

yes i can okay awesome so engu is an english learning website

that has many different um

things to do it's got english for kids or people that

are super super good at english

so they've got

some things like japanese students improve english but

they're still not good at it they're still not solo goals

um plants successfully grown in soil from the moon

so like they took dirt from the moon and grew some plants in it

that's pretty cool uh they also

have something a little bit easier

which is just conversation topics

so like for example

i'll pull up one that you might be interested in

animals um describe your favorite animal

describe an animal that you're scared of and different questions like that

so you've got just normal conversation or a

cambly lesson or doing stuff on ngu which one of those interests you the

most i like all i don't i like all of them

okay okay very good very good so how about for today let's let's try

doing this then just answering a few of these simple questions

so can you describe your favorite animal but don't say the name i want to guess

what animal it is okay okay

my favorite animal is um as uh is mostly found in

in villages and it is it eats grass it's a

hobby bowl and it is it has a

tail and it is um it has horns in it is it a cow

yes it is correct okay cool cool why do you like cows

cows i like because it's um how can i say

it's uh i feel how is uh

the most in a different type of animal it is

a good animal or i can say it's very

humble humble okay cool i i know um cows are very

important for hindus to respect right is your family hindu

yes okay i thought because of the picture

above your head with the the sticker or the cow

is that um which which god is that is that vish

vishnu yes it is okay okay

cool cool so my favorite animal i'll describe it

for you and i want you to guess okay

okay so my favorite animal is mostly found in

india it's got big eyes

it's got big claws it

is a carnivore

it has stripes did i say it has whiskers

um is it a tiger yeah it's a tiger yeah

okay when when did you guess that it was a

tiger when did you think you knew it was having stripes and viscous oh

yeah that that gives it away pretty pretty easily

yes okay so now

we we can we're going to describe interesting animals that you've never

seen or heard of so what we want you to do is make up an

imaginary animal okay

so an animal i can say an animal looking like a

peacock but not on peacock the don't have feathers like a peacock on its back

and the printed part would be of a cow but the face would be of a tiger

and it would be an

omnivore okay i was like will it eat worms grass or deer

because they uh peacock okay that's a very interesting

very interesting animal i like your imagination you've got a

good imagination so

my animal has

six legs um

it has

it is a herbivore

the two back legs are like feet but the four front legs are like hands

and it has a small tail

and likes to climb trees and it's about the size of a big dog

that is the weirdest animal i could think of

interesting yeah that's a very interesting

question so can you describe a wild animal from

your country no tigers because i just talked about tankers

okay so i can say it would be it is an endangered specie other than a tiger it

is um it is now it is it has

hairs around its face no stripes mostly of yellow and orange

color it's a carnivore it like

a lion correct

oh cool cool

i like lions too lions

are actually a bit nicer than tigers tigers are a bit more mean

yeah lions are also known as the king of the jungle

because they never gave up fighting they'd never run away from a fight

exactly exactly um

so do you know the word ansler

no okay so ansler is something that like a

deer has on its head

like like a horn but it's got lots of different

um spikes

okay so like a horn just got two like two spikes like that

and an ansler it's got lots

okay so a wild animal from my country it's

a bit bigger than a cow very

tall it has two huge antlers

it's very good at swimming it's brown

um

it's a bit mean

if you get too close to it it will make you leave

um it likes water

do you know what animal i'm talking about

no okay

well it's an animal that's pretty far away from india have you ever heard of a

moose no i haven't walked

okay here i'll show you a picture we don't have much time but

here we'll see if i can find a good enough picture

there we go so this is a moose

um they're extremely big and kind of nice but

they're they they're kind of territorial as well

okay i think i know this

yeah yeah it's a it actually it kills lots of people

because at night time when you're driving you can't see it and it you hit

it in it it uh yeah it's very dangerous
