your daily routine? My daily routine? Okay. So, I own a shop in

the town that I live in, and I sell decorations for people's

houses, and I fix furniture for people. Oh, that's nice.

Ma'am, I get at seven in the morning, rush to school. I get up at seven in

the morning, rush to school. Apart from that, I enjoy with my

classmates, and then I come back home. I spend some

of my time playing with my sister. After that, in the evening, I go

out to play and after coming back I spend some of my time doing my homework

and all studies. Yeah. I have my dinner and then I have a chat with my parents

or sometimes I also play role-playing games with my siblings until I go to bed.

Um, I think, I think, sometimes yes I can be shy when

I'm meeting new people.

Um, but, because I work in a shop and I have to speak to new people every day, I

get a chance to be quite sociable.

Um, what about you? Ma'am, I think, I'm a little bit introvert

child. Yeah, a little bit shy? Um, not much shy,

a little bit shy. so are you shy when you first meet

people

Ma'am, I'm not too shy when I meet people but I cannot even say that I am not at

all Shy when I meet people I hi so maybe you're a little bit shy

when you meet people and then when you get to know them you're more of an

extrovert yes ma'am yeah

Ma'am, if somebody hurts you, what do you do? What is your reaction or I would say how do

you pacify yourself or you hurt the person back or you will not

feel good until you hurt the person back? This is a General human Tendency. Isn't

it? Yeah um I think if somebody hurts my feelings

I I'm a bit nervous maybe to voice how I'm

feeling so I tend to be someone that would go away and feel sad about it and

maybe not voice it straight away I'd probably go away and think about how I

was going to tell that person that they'd upset me

oh yeah what what about you would you tell someone straight away if they upset

you

I'll not care whatever the person did or I will pacify myself yeah yeah so you

don't say things in the Heat of the Moment you'd go away and think about it

instead, right? Yes, ma'am. Ma'am, what do you do to maintain

maintain your health? To maintain my health?

okay and are we talking about our physical health or our Mental Health

both okay so my physical health well my job is quite physical because I'm

lifting Furniture every day and I'm on my feet every day at work so

that's how that's how I am physical and I walk to work and home from work every

day

um I have a disability which means it's difficult for me to exercise

so my job is the most physical thing that I do

and to look after my mental health um I like to do some self-care exercises

so do things that make me happy and spend some time by myself

um I like to talk to my friends and family

I like to do some mindfulness exercises. Mind, ma'am, what? Mindfulness. I'm gonna type

it a mindfulness and this is um

these are exercises mindfulness is a really nice

tool to have um which takes your mind away from

thinking about negative things so um yeah mindfulness exercises are

really good for calming down your mind if you're feeling a bit nervous or

anxious or stressed mindfulness is a really good thing to do to just be

present in the moment oh that's great

so tell me about you how do you look after your physical and your mental

health? Ma'am, for my physical health, I do some

kind of yoga. I'm a little bit lazy so I skip most of the time,

and for my mental health I do meditation. Yeah,

okay. How often do you meditate? Ma'am, I meditate whenever

I'm free I meditate and I also chant. okay okay good and do you think that's a

good way of looking after your mental health

yes ma'am yeah um what things do you like to do that

make you feel um calm and relax and make you feel

better if you're having a bad day or if somebody's upset your feelings

uh pardon me man so are there any um Hobbies or exercises

that you like to do if somebody has upset you or if you're having a bad day

my my hobbies are ride cycle, play role playing games with my siblings or

sometimes I also love to read spiritual books. I also love to meditate, most often,

I will meditate if someone hurts me but if normal free time when I had a good

day and I have some free time I'll do the others yeah okay so

um if you're having a bad day or if someone's upset you you like to do your

meditating yes ma'am. yeah.

Ma'am, tell me something about your culture and your country please

my culture okay so I live in the south of England

and I live near the coast so I live near the beaches in England

and um

I live in the region I live in is called Devon

Devon in the southwest of England and Devin is famous for

scones have you heard of a scone before

okay I'm gonna show you I'm gonna tell you scone so a scone is

um it's in between a cake and bread and

um it's like a small piece of bread or cake that you cut in half

and then you put cream and jam on top of the scone

and you eat it with a cup of tea

oh there you are excited give us some problems like

that's okay that's okay so yes so in Devon Devon is famous for

scones and we would eat our scones with tea with a cup of tea

um it's called an afternoon tea afternoon tea so I'm going to type Devin

is famous for cream tea

there we go and um also in England we enjoy

fish and chips at the seaside fish and chips and also in England in Devon where

I live near the coast is famous for pasties

That's great, ma'am. ma'am, yeah they're not

pardon. Do you like kids or not? Kids? Yes yes I do I do yeah I have

nieces and nephews but I don't have children of my own yet

oh would you like me yeah I would love to one day yeah one

day what about you do you like children

um and myself I'm a child yeah you are a child

but do you think one day you would like to have children?

So, ma'am, it's obvious I like children every time.

famous things in England and Devon so you tell me a little bit about your

culture/ Ma'am, I live in India and it's

have enough amenities compared to any other developing country,

right? Yeah yeah so especially where I live is a very slow pace of Life

compared to your pace of life in India so I live in the countryside and it's

very quiet things are very slow it's very peaceful

um but I think the disadvantages are that we don't have a lot of different

cultures where I live because I don't live near

any of the bigger cities in England um I don't get to experience people from

other cultures they tend people that move to England tend to live in the

bigger cities in England rather than small towns in the countryside so that's

a bit of a disadvantage I would love to meet people from different cultures but

that's why working on Cambly is so good because I get to meet all different

people.

And tell me have you ever traveled outside of India?

um I don't think so, ma'am, I have traveled outside of India.

You haven't traveled outside of India? Would you like to?

Ma'am, yes, I would love to and ma'am, do you enjoy living alone or do you love to

hang around with your friends? Yeah, I'd like to hang around with my

friends. I have a big family and we're very very close

and I've got quite a lot of siblings. Um, and I live with my partner, live with

my boyfriend Nathan um just me and Nathan so but I like to

see my family as much as possible and what about you? Do you have siblings?

Yes, ma'am, I'm blessed with two siblings. Ah, okay. Are they sisters or brothers?

Ma'am, I have a sister and a brother both. okay

So, are you the oldest, youngest or are you the middle child?

Ma'am, I am the oldest among them. Okay so you have two younger siblings.

Yes, ma'am. And ma'am, if I come there in your country where

would you take me? Where would I take you? Okay so of course

first of all I'd take you to London and show you all of the famous landmarks

in London. So, we would go to Buckingham Palace and

see where the king lived or lives and where the queen used to

live. Um and we would look at the palace and

we would look at the horse guards outside the palace.

That's a very traditional site for England other guards outside Buckingham

Palace and we would go to Downing Street where

our prime minister lives and we'd look at the house that the

Prime Minister lives in. We would go to Big Ben

the big famous Clock Tower in London and then I would take you to go on the

London Eye which is the big wheel in London

um that you can go on and it looks all out across London all of the famous

sites. Ma'am,

what do you do in your free time? I my free time

um I spend time with my family

um I teach Cambly in my free time because this is only my evening and

weekend job um so I see my friends and family I like

listening to music I like going out to eat

um I like relaxing at home I love home I love being at home in my in my house

country of your country. The national flower is a rose in England.

yeah um actually my name is Amy Rose

so I have the name of the flower in my name both of my grandmothers were called

Rose and so my middle name is Rose

just like my grandma's. What about you? What's yours?

Ma'am, in my country, the national flower is lotus. Lotus, a

beautiful flower. Yes, ma'am. It is an aquatic flower. Yeah

yeah okay um do you have a middle name

what do you mean by middle name okay so my middle name is Rose so my first name

is Amy and my middle name is Rose and then I have my surname

so do you have two names or do you have three names.

yeah so we're a little bit different in that aspect

do you have any dream holidays

um I don't have any dream holidays that yes I want to visit that country but

yes if I get a chance I would like to visit an island called Sri Lanka and I

would also like to visit the USA. Oh, okay and where in the USA would you like to go to?

I don't know that really but I heard it's a nice place so I would love to go

to the USA. Yeah, me too. I would also love to go to the USA.

dream job

um when I grew up I want to be an IAS. I mean an administrative work or I would

love to be a District collector I would say okay okay so an Administration job

my father is in defense and my mother my mother was a teacher

your mother was a teacher what did she teach?

Ma'am, I think she taught English and perhaps social science ah she taught

your mum learn English did she go to university

oh yes ma'am yeah yeah was that in India yes ma'am yeah

and my sister's name is Harika okay so you all have names that start

yeah do you get along well with your brothers and sisters or do you fight

yeah when I was younger I always used to fight with my brother and sister.

Now that we are older we get along much much better. We don't fight anymore.

Ma'am, my brother doesn't go to school with me but my sister goes to school with me

um just my wall there's nothing behind me in my

oh my favorite subject at school was English I loved reading

oculum apart from English oh and apart from English my favorite

subject was drama I loved acting. Oh, ma'am, drama

was a subject yeah drama was a subject at my school yeah we got to do acting at

my school

would you like to do that if your school offered drama would you like to do drama

at school yes love I would love to do a job at my

school do you watch television

I would love to watch television but my brother doesn't allow me to watch

yes I hardly get some time after my school when he sleeps a lot uh I say
