Misterduncan goes to Vote - Election Day in the UK 2024

So the day has arrived.

It is here.

The day that we've been talking about

for the past seven weeks has finally arrived.

It is polling day.

It is time for the nation to decide who they want

to have as the government for the next five years.

And we, of course, are doing our democratic duty.

We are stepping in

to do our little bit by going to vote.

Have you decided who you're going to vote for yet?

Mr.. Steve, I have Mr. Duncan.

I'm not going to tell you, of course,

because you know how awful

it is to talk about politics. It causes arguments.

All I would say

is do not let the colour of my top here, dissuade  you from deciding who I'm going to vote for.

But this could be a red herring, as they say.

When it literally is red.

So, yes,

we have to be careful,

you say, because this time of year,

lots of people are discussing politics.

And as we know,

you are never supposed to talk

about religion

or politics

because it does tend to create arguments.

Now I have decided I am going to vote for

the guy with the dustbin on his head,

so I'm not sure if he's actually running

in Much Wenlock.

I have run very far with a decision on his head.

By the way. That's where we are.

We are in Much Wenlock at the moment.

That's where we live and we are voting today

as we decide who the new government will be.

If, of course,

there is a new government,

because there might not be,

it might stay the same.

Who knows in this crazy world in which we live.

So we are now about to go in

to cast our votes and then

we will

come back out and say hello again

and let you know how the experience went.

So we will be back in a moment.

Don't go away.

And we are back.

We've done it. It was quite painless, actually.

Not quite as bad

as going to the dentist

or having an injection in your arm.

So we have voted.

I put my big cross next to the lady

who wants to make owning cats compulsory.

She is a member of the Cat party, Mrs.

Finsbury in Much Wenlock.

So she has got my vote. Definitely.

And Mr. Steve, did you cast your vote?

I did indeed.

I revert to type,

which means that I voted for the candidate

I usually vote

for having over this very divisive few weeks.

Switched to another party.

But in the end, I've come back.

So it will be very interesting to see

whether other people come back,

because they're predicting

a massive win for Labour.

so we should mention the conservatives as well,

because they are also running

and the Liberal Democrats

and also we have another one this year.

We have, well,

besides the Green Party

that most people tend to ignore, to be honest.

We also have reform as well, who have stepped in

and have caused quite a lot of chaos,

to be honest with you.

So it remains to be seen who will be running

the country over the next five years.

We will have to wait and see.

On Friday we will all find out.

It will be a nice surprise or not,

depending on who wins.

Anyway, it's time to go back home.

Mr.

Steve has to continue with his job

doing his work, and I will be editing this video

that I'm doing right now,

standing here

in the centre of Much Wenlock on Election Day 2020

for the UK is deciding who will be governing them

for the next five years.
