Powerful (FREE) YouTube Tools to help you Learn English - How to use Caption Translate & Transcript.

When we talk about learning English,

we often come up against one factor

that can hold back those learning the language.

Quite often,

the tools needed for learning must be purchased.

They have to be paid for.

They are not free.

Well, I am here to give you some valuable

tips and useful advice on how to learn English whilst

using some great tools right here on YouTube.

And yes, they are free.

The first tool on my list

might seem obvious, but I will mention it anyway.

The action of actually watching

and listening to video lessons or any content on

YouTube is still free of charge.

You can easily view as many of my English lessons

as you want for as many times as you need to.

That alone makes YouTube

a brilliant resource for self-education.

Next, there are captions or subtitles.

They are both the same thing and provide

valuable help in understanding and putting the context

of what is being said in the video being viewed.

Read the text on the screen whilst listening.

It is both simple and effective.

Another feature of YouTube captions is the ability

to translate the spoken language into your own

native speech.

This function is not easy to find,

but with just a couple of clicks,

you can see

what is being said on the screen in front of you.

This feature normally works best on a PC

equipped with a large viewing monitor.

To get the auto translated, captions

activate the captions, select settings,

click on captions settings

Select auto Translate

and choose the language

you want to translate the captions to.

It's as simple as that.

If that wasn't enough, you

can also read a transcript of the video as it plays.

It is also possible to copy and store words

from the transcript as well.

For future reference,

you can use any translation software

to check the meaning

of any part of the script in your own language.

All these tools provide a powerful advantage

to your ability to learn English for free.

Modern smartphones also allow you

to take photographs and screenshots of the captions

which can then be translated

into your own native language using an AI.

So as you can see,

there are many ways

to learn English on YouTube and through YouTube.

And the best part of it is all the tools are free.
