The extra day - 🛑LIVE English lesson — 29th February 2024

I had a lovely livestream planned for today.

I started walking.

I was going to do a lovely live stream

from a very scenic location, but unfortunately,

because we've had so much rain over the past few weeks,

all of the area

where I wanted to walk through was under water.

And I couldn't get through.

So I had to come all the way back home.

So here I am now in the garden.

Unfortunately, my lovely plans

did not come to fruition.

The birds are all around.

They are feeling rather happy at the moment

because spring is just around the corner.

But I suppose the big question is where am I?

Where are you? Mr. Duncan? We can't see you.

You should be here with us now on camera.

But you are not. Well, guess what?

Here I am.

It's a rather interesting day

because the weather isn't that bad, to be honest with you.

We are having a very nice day.

It's been raining on and off.

It is cloudy, but it's not too cold.

You may have noticed I am actually wearing no coat,

so I don't even have my coat on today.

Here in England, we've been waiting very patiently

for spring to arrive.

But we've had so much rain, it feels more like April.

Anyway, the reason why I'm here today

because we have an extra day,

29 days in February this month.

So you might see it as an extra day.

We have an extra day to play with.

And I thought, What shall I do?

I know I will do an extra

live stream and that is what I'm doing right now.

It is a lovely place.

because everyone has a dog around here except me.

is just about to go off

for one of his appointments for his job.

And a few moments ago,

he went for a walk to the top of the hill here.

And there was some crazy person with a dog,

a huge German shepherd.

And the thing wasn't even on a leash.

It was just running around and it ran towards Steve Barking.

And Steve was very afraid.

So there are people who who have dogs

and they are very careless with their dogs.

So there all my trousers look

It was flooded

and my feet were starting to sink into the mud.

So I decided that maybe it wasn't a good idea

to walk that way.

So I came all the way back.

And instead we are here in the garden.

It's quite dry.

The ground is not too wet,

even though we've had a lot of rain over the past three weeks.

Very wet indeed.

So it is the 29th of February.
