We've had a busy week.

You may have noticed last weekend

we were actually not here in the studio.

Last Sunday, we were actually in

Paris

broadcasting live

from in front of the Eiffel Tower

on a place called the Truck Addario in Paris.

One of the most.

Well, I suppose it's the busiest place in Paris.

But to be honest with you, I would say it is honest

to say that most parts of Paris

are really, really busy.

I have to say,

when we first arrived in Paris on Thursday,

so we did arrive slightly early at

or before our live stream.

So we arrived on Thursday,

which is a good thing to be honest,

because it was a big shock.

Suddenly arrive ing in a busy,

bustling city centre.

And let's say if you've never been to Paris, Paris

is a bit like London,

but more crowded

and more busy and more hectic, however,

and this might surprise you

if I had a choice between going to Paris

and going to London, I would choose

Paris.

You're surprised, aren't you?

Now, I think you were hoping

or maybe you just thought I was going to say London.

But no, I love Paris. In fact, we miss it.

Steve and myself

this morning were actually talking about

how much we want to go back to Paris

because it's amazing.

It is a wonderful place.

We are talking a little bit about that today.

I also have a wonderful video compilation

of some of the things we saw,

some of the things we did.

And I'm sure you know already

that most of what we did concerned eating food.

And you would be right, I've said it before.

I know I've said it before

and I'm going to say it again and again.

Paris has some of the best food that I've ever tasted.

We went to some lovely restaurants,

some lovely places,

some nice food.

I think it's fair to say

whenever whenever anyone talks about Paris,

one of the first things they mention

besides the crowded people

and the busy traffic

is the food.

Let's face it, it is one of the main reasons

why many people go to Paris.

So here we are again.

We've made it

to the end of another week and also another weekend.

A very busy week.

In fact, it is

Sunday.

Do you believe it is

wherever you are watching at the moment,

wherever you are in the world?

on the journey back

from Paris whilst on the plane.

The reason why I'm drinking lots of water

is because it's very hot.

We are having a heatwave.

The weather forecast last night said we were going

to get lots of rain today, but we've had none.

None whatsoever.

So outside it is hot and sticky.

Just like it was last week

whilst walking around Paris.

It was very hot.

A lot of places in Europe

were were experiencing very high temperatures,

including Paris and also right here in much Wenlock,

which is where I am. I've returned.

Last Sunday

in front of the most, I would say the Eiffel Tower.

I can't think of any other structure

that is more famous than the Eiffel Tower.

I suppose you might think of

the pyramids in Egypt.

I suppose they're quite famous.

Easily recognise, very distinctive.

Something that you can recognise very easily.

We also have, I suppose in London

you have Buckingham Palace.

A lot of people recognise that building

and of course there is the famous clock tower

with the famous bell

rings out many times each day.

Big Bang is the name of the bell

near the places I suppose.

Also there is the Leaning Tower of Pisa as well.

So that is a very famous landmark.

But I think the Eiffel Tower

must be one of the most recognisable

of all the monuments, of all the things

that exist in the world.

I think it's very easy to recognise the Eiffel Tower.

Claudia is here and there is something we haven't done

for a very long time and I am going to do it today.

I know I haven't done this for quite a while,

but I think because I was away last week in Paris

doing something different,

I think it would be nice if I can find it.

but we often forget that this thing

can get rather dirty.

And I noticed this morning

that this particular device is really dirty.

It's all sorts of horrible, weird,

sticky things on my mouse.

I don't know what it is.

It might be food, to be honest,

but since I've had this little mouse,

I've never cleaned it.

And I noticed this morning because that's what happens

when you are away from somewhere and then you return,

you often notice things

that that you didn't notice before.

So I did notice today

that my my little mouse that I use to operate

this is looking a little bit dirty, to be honest.

So I might clean this later.

I might give it a little clean.

Christina said it would be a nice idea

to meet in England, and then we can see my friends.

It's a good idea.

Okay, to try and confirm our ticket on the way back.

So nobody seems to speak French.

How exciting is that?

It seemed as if we've always known them.

They said it feels as if we've all been friends

And yet and yet we had never met before.

We'd never met yet we got on, as we say,

in the UK, like a house on fire.

get on well together,

It's a strange expression.

because I don't know really where it comes from,

but that is what we saying.

So if you get on with a group of people,

He's a lovely, positive and inspiring man.

And I was joking.

And also Lewis would win and Lewis was faces

and all of this.

I have to say,

there is one thing I'm going to remember about this

trip is the fact that we kept losing Lewis.

Lewis was gone.

Lewis Mendez

has more energy than all of us put together.

I was I mean,

every time we looked around,

we couldn't

find Lewis, and then we looked and he was half a mile

ahead of us up the road.

Well, you see, Lewis left, told us his daily routine.

He walked 2 hours every day to keep fit.

And boy, is he fit

for his age, 86, I think Lewis's and super fit.

We were all struggling

under the heat in Paris,

and Lewis was fine as anything.

I think he was excited of course, as well.

But he was fit

and we were,

you know, we felt ten years older than him.

Yes.

Well, we did do something

very stupid on our first day.

The first day we were in Paris, we decided to

we thought it was a good idea to walk right across

Paris from one side to the other,

not realising just how large the centre of Paris is.

And we did walk a long way.

I think it was around 23,000 steps in the end,

at the end of the day

and on the way back home in the evening,

we we had to stop because we were,

we were collapsing on the collapsing,

we were collapsing,

we walked from

because we were staying in the district, a trial

at trial I think it's pronounced.

And we walked all the way to Beatrice Hotel,

which was near the Louvre.

In fact, it was packed.

The Louvre Gastelu It was.

It was it was such a long because then we took, uh,

we took

Beatrice back to the hotel

afterwards to make sure she was safe.

And as I said, we wrote back afterwards.

So, yes, it was

exciting.

Christina sang, I would like to hug both of you.

Yes, he was. He was very good.

He was as good as Steve.

I thought his singing was equal.

In fact,

I was expecting you to stand up

and do a duet with him.

He was a little aggressive.

Let's just say he would walk around the restaurant

sort of singing almost in your face. Yeah.

He was what I would call an aggressive singer.

I mean, he was very good.

There was a piano player in every restaurant.

We went in, of course,

had somebody performing something in Monmouth, only on

maitre there.

Some were good,

some were very good, and some were not very good.

And that one you just mentioned was not very good.

And I've never seen anyone sing aggressively.

It's almost as yes,

it's almost as if he was going around

punching you in the face,

punching us with with musical note.

You will listen to me sing.

It was that kind of it

wasn't just sort of standing in the corner

as sort of entertainment in the background.

He was sort of there

just sort of singing French songs, which is fine.

Christina, by the way, he's

been on a mountain bike today.

Christine has been up the mountain

and she's come back

on her bike and she's watching.

Is are you still up the mountain?

I'm sure that the people that live in Paris

Well, yeah, it's the food.

Of course the food.

Although you have got to be careful where you go.

It wasn't.

They don't seem to know how to cook chicken.

and the what I tell you what stood out for me

was the quality of service

that you get from waiters in Paris.

And by the way, when I say waiters, ladies,

waiters, you were impressed by one aspect.

One aspect is that

all waiters

in Paris are super fashionable.

I've never seen this anywhere else.

Anywhere, certainly not in the UK.

They remember everything that you order

and they don't even have to write it down.

They must undergo some rigorous training.

So a group of us, probably eight of us, one one

night, seven or eight of us ordering starters.

Main course is drinks

and the waiters

don't even have to write any of it down.

They remembered all of it and it all came perfectly.

And it's that I think is quite impressive.

Very impressive indeed.

So the food the food is definitely good.

I will agree with you on that.

And I think

now this this is this is very interesting.

I think another thing I want to mention is

I didn't see any

trouble

from anyone apart from this.

They told us to cross the road.

We were walking on the side of the road as the embassy

and there was this guy standing in a box

told us across the road, I think he said, oeuvre,

So we went on the other side of the road and

he was very convincing.

I think what convinced me was, was the

sort of in the eighties.

But the weather in Paris is slightly

It's all the time.

I lost count of how many times we heard the police

driving around even in the middle of the night,

even though there was very little traffic around.

So I did feel safe that is a big good

Another good thing about Paris.

That was a lovely restaurant by the Louvre.

Well, of course, the one that we love

most of all is the same one.

Remember the name of the restaurant?

What's it called?

It is Imperial.

Imperial, the Imperial Restaurant.

And it's on the chandeliers.

I know it's not.

It's by the Louvre. By the Louvre either.

Plus de la Concorde.

It is not very far away from the Place de la Concorde,

which is near the Louvre.

It's called the

Imperial Imperial, and it has the most amazing food.

So next time you go in there, if you are in Paris

and you go to the Imperial ole restaurant,

which is near the Louvre for,

say, Mr.

Duncan and Mr.

Steve recommended this place.

And then the next time we go,

we might get a free meal and we've got free champagne.

So so far we've got a free flight from Air France.

We've got free food for, the French restaurant.

And all we need now is to say some nice things

about the hotel.

But unfortunately we can't

because they didn't have tomato sauce or baked beans.

The incredible thing about that restaurant,

if we've got time, is that we went there in 2017,

was it 2019, 2019 and just the two of us.

And we sat down and had a lovely meal

and we went back and the waiter remembered as he did.

We only been there once.

He remembered as he remembered what we'd eaten

and where we sat.

Incredible, Incredible.

Although I think he was grabbed, I think he was lying.

I don't think he was because he knew what we'd eaten

and he knew where we sat.

Unless.

Well, we did sit in the same seat.

And I thought that was amazing.

Yes, we are going now.

But yes, it is time to say a revoir.
