It’s Mr. Duncan‘s birthday at West Midlands Safari Park. 🦒 12th August 2024

Hi everybody this is Mr Duncan and Mr Steve we  are out and about on my birthday Mr Steve gave  

me a really nice surprise this morning as I opened  my eyes I looked around and Mr Steve says you've  

got to look somewhere so I looked around and I  found an invitation to go and feed the giraffes  

at West Midlands safari park and guess what  that is where we are right now on a very hot  

August Day celebrating my birthday as well we  are thank you Mr Steve first of all for your  

lovely surprise I knew nothing about it I had no  idea that Steve was going to do this so it was a  

total surprise and this morning I was feeding the  giraffes they were coming down and they were Bend  

in their necks towards me and I was feeding them  some little fragments of lettuce and cabbage  

and also broccoli as well it would appear that  giraffes really do enjoy eating their vegetables  

that's why they look so strong and healthy so I  think it was the most amazing experience as you  

know I have developed a crush on giraffe they  are ever so nice so again Steve thank you very  

much for your your lovely surprise gift so we are  now at West Midlands Safari Park can I just say  

we arrived here this morning very early didn't we  Steve and it was quiet but now there are hundreds  

and hundreds of people driving around in their  cars so there are many different parts to this  

particular Safari Park you can drive around where  all of the dangerous animals are you have to stay  

in your car and you can look around as well there  are other places where you can get out of the car  

and walk around there are places to eat there's  even a place that has some some dinosaurs you  

might be able to hear them now and again in  the background but now there are hundreds and  

hundreds of people arriving you might just be able  to see there those are just a few of the hundreds  

of cars so we are not staying here very long  we are waiting to see what our photographs come  

out like they did not let me take any pictures  so they took their own photographs didn't they  

Steve even though I was a bit naughty wasn't  I yes Mr Duncan can't help himself uh to be  

fair I don't think you heard her instructions the  the lady that showed us around the Giraffe House  

uh and yes I kept it a big secret from Mr Duncan  for about oh I must have booked this two or three  

months ago that's incred can I just say Mr Steve  is terrible at keeping secrets so I still can't  

believe that you managed you managed to keep  this whole thing a secret for so long and just  

a few days ago we actually drove past this place  whilst coming back from your sisters and I even  

said let's go and see the giraffes and I didn't  even realize at the time that Mr Steve had already  

booked a surprise for my birthday but of course  the morning they said no filming but I couldn't  

resist getting my camera out and she did tell me  she said I'm sorry no you can't take pictures no  

no pictures I don't know why but anyway I did take  some and we have lots of pictures that they took  

as well in fact that's what we're waiting for now  isn't it Steve yes we just uh we went to collect  

the pictures and they weren't quite ready so we  thought we'll come and do a little uh something  

to camera and uh hopefully not bore you all with  the details but yes I as I was saying before you  

cut me off Mr Duncan uh I booked this about three  months ago because you have to book in advance uh  

because there are only limited slots to go and  personally feed the giraffes there is one you  

can go to the elephants I think you can go to the  lion there's various different uh ways of spending  

your money I mean this the standard way is you pay  and you drive around and you stay in your car and  

you see all the various animals but if you want  to do something they call it a VIP experience uh  

they take you in one of their safari trucks yeah  it was amazing by the way it was incredible I I  

really did feel as if as if we were we were being  treated to something special so we were feeding  

the giraffes personally it was incredible I can't  wait to see the photographs yes one thing I found  

interesting is that the giraffes apparently you  think uh that with a long neck like that you  

think they get an aching neck but it turns out  that their necks spring back uh automatically  

so they don't have to use any effort to keep  the neck upright but they have to use muscles  

to actually make the neck Bend so it's the other  way around because it always looks uncomfortable  

I always think that giraffes must always get n  cake neck ache so their necks must always hurt  

but apparently they don't also we found out today  that giraffes hardly ever sleep they only sleep  

for around 20 minutes every day and that's all  they need anyway we will cut this short before it  

becomes a very long video and and we will catch  you later so we will continue our day we are  

now going to get something to eat not here we're  going to go somewhere around this area there are  

many nice places to eat and I will have a lovely  birthday meal with Mr Steve thank you for your  

lovely messages and also all of your kind wishes  and can I say thank you also to Franco for your  

lovely donation yesterday you can make a donation  if you want to help my work continue maybe I can  

buy myself my own personal giraffe who knows and  we will see you again soon won't we Mr Steve next  

Sunday I think yes next Sunday will come faster  than you think and we'll see you all then catch
