Now in a minute I'm going to tell you guys all about my really exciting English challenge

that I have for you but first what is a tongue twister?

Well, it's a sentence that we say to help us improve our pronunciation.

Usually looking at specific sounds.

일반적으로 특정 소리를 봅니다.

So how does Tom's Tongue Twister Challenge work?

Tom's Tongue Twister Challenge는 어떻게 진행되나요?

Well there are four stages.

Number one I'm going to teach you guys a tongue twister and how to say it correctly in British

Number three when it's perfect I want you to get your phone and film yourself saying

Number four here comes the fun part.

Alright let's do today's challenge.

We've got two sounds today.

오늘은 두 가지 소리가 있습니다.

Ok, we have s and sh, ok? s and sh.

좋아, 우리는 s와 sh를 가지고 있어, 알았지? s와 sh.

Alright let's look at how to make those sounds.

좋아, 그 소리를 만드는 방법을 보자.

First of all s.

우선 에스.

Now have a look at my mouth /s/ ok, so my lips are wide my cheeks are wide /s/ my tongue

이제 내 입을 봐봐 /s/ 그래 내 입술은 넓고 내 뺨은 넓고 /s/ 내 혀는

is flat and quite high /s/ /s/ and I'm blowing air out of my mouth and it's kind of flowing

on the top of my tongue and hitting the back of my teeth, ok? /s/ a bit like a snake /s/.

혓바닥에서 흐르다가 치아 뒤쪽을 때리는 것 , 알았지? /s/ 뱀 /s/와 비슷합니다.

Ok, you should be able to feel air on the back of your hand /s/.

자, 손등 /s/에서 공기를 느낄 수 있어야 합니다 .

Words that have this sound are sea, six, Sunday, sunshine loads of words like that.

이 소리가 나는 단어는 바다, 여섯, 일요일, 햇빛이 많은 그런 단어들입니다.

Ok and the second sound /sh/ as if you are telling people to be quiet /sh/ it's that

좋아요 그리고 두 번째 소리는 /sh/ 사람들에게 조용히 하라고 말하는 것처럼 /sh/ 그

sounds.

Now there are big differences here.

이제 여기에 큰 차이점이 있습니다.

Look at the mouth.

입을 봐.

As I say it /sh/ look at my lips they come out, ok?

So the other sound/sh/ lips are back or are wide now this time my lips go forward /sh/

not too far but you know, half way /sh/ almost like a kiss.

Ok, so /s/ /sh/ /s/ /sh/ ok, now the key thing here is to think about the tongue, where is

the tongue?

Now, at the beginning the /s/ sound the tongue is forward and quite high but with the /sh/

sound the tongue goes back, ok the tongue is back /sh/ and letting the air flow out.

So I'm going to go between the two sounds and this is my tongue ok?

So /sh/ back and then /s/ it's forward /sh/ /s/ /sh/ /s/ ok so it's coming back and then

Let's look at our tongue twister for today.

This is a classic one.

It's a tough one, it's a tough one.

Alright let's look at the sounds together.
