Save Time And Write Better Email Requests in English

How much time does it take you to write an email in English?

Probably longer than it takes you to write a message in French.

And the average person, like you and me, spends

2 hours a day on emails.

and save a ton of time too.

When you write emails in English,

sure you can think about your words, read the message again, and make corrections.

But as George Harrison once said

“You know it takes time, a whole lot of precious time.”

Sorry. No more singing.

One of the most common types of emails are requests.

Asking someone to do something.

Since you write email requests so often,

stop losing time thinking how to start the message, what to say,

and how to structure everything.

Use the RAP model instead. Rap like..

No no singing. Promise not going to Rap.

But Rap, RAP stands for

Reason for writing

Action requested and Polite closing

Start with the reason for writing. Use a phrase like

Then, say the action requested.

Short, simple sentences make this clear.

For example:

You may also want to explain the reason for your request.

Again, short, simple sentences make your email easy to understand.

and easier to write.

Then, finish with a polite closing.
