Learn the English Phrases TO LIGHT UP THE ROOM and A RAY OF SUNSHINE

So in English, if I was to walk into a room

and be really happy and be really joyful,

you could say that I light up the room.

So in English, when you say that someone lights up the room,

it means that they are someone who just brings joy,

who brings happiness, who makes everyone in the room

just smile and you probably know a lot of people like this,

you probably know a lot of people who light up a room

when they walk into the room.

Usually they're the kind of people who like to tell jokes.

They're the kinds of people who like to talk to you.

They like to ask questions about your life

and to see how things are going.

And usually when someone lights up a room,

they are just someone that everyone likes to be around.

I think everyone would love to be someone

who lights up a room, but not all of us are that way.

I'm usually not.

You might think that I would light up a room,

but I'm usually pretty quiet when I walk into a room.

You might also know someone who you would describe

as a ray of sunshine.

When you describe someone as a ray of sunshine,

it's very similar to the last phrase.

When someone is a ray of sunshine,

they are just someone who is just always happy

when you see them.

If they drive in your driveway

or if they knock at your door,

when you see them you just smile

because they are a ray of sunshine in your life.

Just like the rays of sunshine

that are coming down right now.

I'm actually happy because there's a little bit

of shade here under the tree.

The trees are finally starting to get some leaves.

They're still quite little.
