A very, very difficult case. 

매우 매우 어려운 경우입니다.

A wedding ring worth £5,000 goes missing just 3 hours before the wedding.

5000파운드 상당의 결혼반지가 결혼식 3시간 전에 사라진다.

After my first enquiries I knew that...

첫 번째 조사 후에 저는...

this was clearly a job for

이 일이

a very experienced detective.

매우 경험 많은 형사를 위한 일이라는 것을 알았습니다.

But, first of all,

I had a very important job to do.

[Shouting] Err, yes, I'm just coming. Can I have a cup of tea?

[외침] 어, 네, 지금 막 가겠습니다. 차 한잔 해도 될까요?

>>Best man Tea?! Oh, OK.

>>최고의 남자 티?! 오 그래.

>>Inspector [Groan... Grunt...] 

>>경위 [신음... 그런트...]

That's better.

그게 낫네요.

[Thinking] Now I was ready to continue my investigation. I had one important question.

[생각] 이제 조사를 계속할 준비가 되었습니다 . 한 가지 중요한 질문이 있었습니다.

Which guest saw the ring last?

마지막으로 반지를 본 손님은?

I needed to ask all the wedding guests

결혼식 하객들에게 모두 물어보고

and if anybody's story was different... ha!!

다른 사람의 사연이 있다면... 하!!

I decided to start with the most difficult person first,

가장 어려운 사람인 신부

the mother of the bride. [Sound of door opening and closing]

의 어머니부터 시작하기로 했다. [문이 열리고 닫히는 소리]

>>Inspector A word, madam.

>>경감님 말씀.

>>Bride's mother May I help you, Inspector?

difficult. Yes, when did you... [He's given a cup of tea]

까다로웠다. 네, 언제... [차 한잔 주셨어요]

Oh, bride, tea, lovely, thank you.

아, 신부님, 차, 러블리, 감사합니다.

>>Bride's mother Inspector!

>> 신부 어머니 경위!

>>Inspector When did you last see the ring?

>>Inspector 반지를 마지막으로 본 게 언제인가요?

>>Bride's mother Inspector. I am the mother of the bride. So, of course, I was arranging the flowers on

>> 신부의 어머니 검사관. 저는 신부의 어머니입니다. 그래서 물론

the suits of the groom and the best man - I am an expert in the art of flowers you know.

신랑과 베스트맨의 수트에 꽃을 꽂고 있었는데요. 저는 꽃 예술의 전문가입니다.

>>Inspector [Thinking] Really, flower arranging, how

>>경감 [생각] 정말, 꽃꽂이,

very interesting... Hmm... Which flowers was she arranging and... who bought the flowers?

너무 재미있어... 흠... 어떤 꽃을 꽂았는데... 꽃은 누가 샀어?

Did you see the ring?

반지 봤어?

>>Bride's mother Of course I saw the ring Inspector! The best man kept it in his jacket pocket. He showed

it to the groom. It was in a small red plastic box. 

신랑에게 보여주었다. 작은 빨간색 플라스틱 상자에 들어 있었습니다.

>>Inspector [Thinking] She really was a very difficult

>>경감 [생각] 그녀는 정말 어려운

woman... But through hard work and patience, I got the information I needed.

여자였어... 하지만 열심히 일하고 인내하여 필요한 정보를 얻었습니다.

The best man kept the ring in a small red plastic box in his jacket pocket...

최고의 남자는 재킷 주머니에 있는 작은 빨간색 플라스틱 상자에 반지를 보관했는데...

But

그런데

who took the ring out of the box? Was her story true? It was time to talk to the groom.

상자에서 반지를 꺼낸 사람은 누구입니까? 그녀의 이야기는 사실이었습니까? 신랑과 대화할 시간이었다.

And you?! When did you last see the ring?

was fixing the flowers for the best man and the groom. I saw the best man take a large

out of his pocket. He opened it and showed my wedding ring to the groom.

Inspector, you will find my ring, won't you??

>>Inspector She's still asking difficult questions...

And why does she keep crying all the time?

ring was in a small red wooden box.

반지는 작은 빨간 나무 상자에 들어있었습니다.

I kept it in my jacket pocket.

재킷 주머니에 보관했습니다.

I showed it to the groom.

신랑에게 보여줬어요.

That's the last time I saw it.

그게 내가 본 마지막 시간이야.

>>Inspector [Thinking] Just as I thought: another character I can't trust.

>>Inspector [생각] 생각한 대로: 또 다른 캐릭터는 믿을 수 없습니다.

I knew I had to keep my eyes and ears open. Which guest was lying?

눈과 귀를 열어두어야 한다는 것을 알았습니다. 어떤 손님이 거짓말을 했습니까?

I needed a place to think -

생각할 곳이 필요했지만

but I couldn't go back to the bathroom...

화장실에 다시 갈 수는 없었습니다...

then I found the solution

그러다 해결책을 찾았습니다. 바로

- the garden.

정원이었습니다.

Each one of these...

이들 각각은...

people had told me their story…

사람들이 나에게 그들의 이야기를 들려주었다...

But who did I trust?

하지만 나는 누구를 믿었는가?

Something was not quite right... What was it?? [Thunderstorm]

뭔가 옳지 않았습니다... 뭐였죠?? [뇌우]

[Thinking] It came to me suddenly, as if

[생각] 갑자기 꿈처럼 떠올랐는데

in a dream... But I knew it wasn't a dream. No, all my experience and my excellent detective

.. 꿈이 아니란 걸 알았어요. 아니, 내 모든 경험과 뛰어난 추리력으로 인해

skills made me realise that each and every one of them had made a mistake in their story.

그들 모두가 그들의 이야기에서 실수를 저질렀다는 것을 깨달았다.

The groom said the box was blue, but everyone else said it was red.  The bride said the

신랑은 상자가 파란색이라고 말했지만 다른 사람들은 모두 빨간색이라고 말했습니다. 신부는

box was large, but everyone else said it was small. The best man said the box was wooden,

상자가 크다고 말했지만 다른 사람들은 모두 작다고 말했습니다. 최고의 남자는 상자가 나무라고 말했지만

but everyone else said it was made of plastic. [Thunder]

다른 사람들은 모두 플라스틱이라고 말했습니다. [천둥]

>>Inspector [Thinking] And with that, I had all the evidence I needed

>> 경위 [생각] 그것으로 필요한 증거는 다 얻었지만

but I had one more question:

한 가지 질문이 더 생겼습니다.

what's happened to the horse?

말에게 무슨 일이 생긴 걸까요?

[Thunder]

[천둥]

>>Narrator So what is the truth?

>>내레이터 그래서 진실은 무엇입니까?

Who is the thief?

도둑은 누구입니까?

And does anyone know anything at all?

그리고 아는 사람이 있습니까?
