I'm... Viktor Frankenstein's Creature. Here we are, in my hut on the mountains. I'm

happy to tell you and Viktor Frankenstein my story. How I learnt about the day, the night,  

당신과 빅터 프랑켄슈타인에게 내 이야기를 들려주게 되어 기쁩니다. 낮과 밤,

the hunger, thirst, cold... And I learnt how to live with all this the hard way.  

배고픔, 목마름, 추위를 어떻게 배웠는지... 그리고 이 모든 것을 견디며 사는 법을 힘들게 배웠습니다.

Imagine that I tried to touch fire?! How silly of me. Of course I was burnt. But I saw good things  

내가 불을 만지려고 했다고 상상해 보세요?! 정말 바보 같군요. 물론 나는 화상을 입었습니다. 그런데 좋은 것도 봤어요

too. These little creatures which made pleasant sounds. Yes, the birds. I tried to sound like them  

. 즐거운 소리를 내는 이 작은 생물들. 네, 새들이에요. 그들처럼 말하려고 노력했지만

but nothing came out of my mouth! And I saw people. I've never learnt how to behave with you  

입에서 아무것도 나오지 않았습니다! 그리고 사람들을 봤어요. 나는 너희 인간을 대하는 법을 배운 적이 없다

humans. I was surprised when people who saw me ran away. In the villages, some men wanted to hurt me.

. 나를 본 사람들이 도망가는 걸 보고 깜짝 놀랐다. 마을에서는 어떤 남자들이 나를 해치려고 했습니다.

I have a few stones that I can throw at the monster. I'm a good shot!

괴물에게 던질 수 있는 돌이 몇 개 있어요. 나는 좋은 기회입니다!

Go home, boy. The monster could be dangerous. It was seen trying  to get into the house near the central square. 

집에 가세요. 괴물은 위험할 수도 있습니다. 중앙광장 근처 집에 들어가려고 하는 모습이 포착됐다.

Shall we go and look for it? This time  we might get lucky, catch it and kill it! 

가서 찾아볼까요? 이번에는 운이 좋아서 잡아서 죽일 수도 있습니다!

Kill it! Kill the monster!

죽여라! 괴물을 죽여라!

Let's go then. We can start near the vegetable garden where he was seen last time. Let's go!

그럼 가자. 지난번에 그가 목격된 채소밭 근처에서 시작해 보세요. 갑시다!

All these people seemed angry with me... Why?

이 사람들은 모두 나에게 화가 난 것 같았어요... 왜요?

I escaped to the open country and hid in a hut. That was where I was when I watched  

나는 열린 시골로 탈출하여 오두막에 숨었습니다. 근처 집에서 한 가족을 지켜볼 때 제가 있던 곳이 바로 그곳이었습니다

a family in a nearby house. I heard they  were called the De Laceys. I was careful

not to allow them to see me. The boy, the girl and an old man looked poor but happy... 

그들이 나를 보지 못하도록 조심했습니다. 소년, 소녀, 노인은 가난해 보였지만 행복해 보였습니다.

That's what we have for dinner today. Some carrots, potatoes, cheese, bread... just one egg.

오늘 저녁은 이것입니다. 당근, 감자, 치즈, 빵... 계란 하나만 있으면 됩니다.

You like eggs, dad. This one is for you.

계란을 좋아하세요, 아빠. 이것은 당신을위한 것입니다.

You're very generous, dear daughter. But you should have this egg.

당신은 매우 관대해요, 사랑하는 딸아. 하지만 이 달걀은 꼭 드셔야 해요.

Maybe we should give it to my brother then.

He's been working hard and he needs more food.

Thank you, sister. I'll try to work harder so that we can have more eggs to eat.

I'm very grateful, son. A blind man's  life isn't easy... The light in my life is the love of my children. 

정말 고마워요, 아들. 시각 장애인의 삶은 쉽지 않습니다... 내 삶의 빛은 아이들에 대한 사랑입니다.

They were so kind to one another... I wanted to be part of their family. I learned to speak by  

그들은 서로에게 너무 친절했습니다. 저는 그들의 가족이 되고 싶었습니다. 나는 숨어서 그들의 말을 들으며 말하는 법을 배웠습니다

listening to them in hiding. I discovered books lost in the forest and learned how to read. And  

. 숲 속에서 잃어버린 책을 발견하고 읽는 법을 배웠습니다. 그리고

at that time I finally found out why people ran away from me. I saw my own face in a pond and...  

그 때 비로소 사람들이 나에게서 도망치는 이유를 알게 되었습니다. 연못에 빠진 내 얼굴을 봤는데...

I'm really ugly! I didn't want to frighten this family. I had to find a way to talk to them.

정말 못생겼어요! 나는 이 가족에게 겁을 주고 싶지 않았습니다. 나는 그들과 대화할 방법을 찾아야만 했다.

I thought about the father. He was blind and so he wouldn't see me. One day, using all my courage,  

나는 아버지에 대해 생각했습니다. 그 사람은 시각 장애인이어서 나를 볼 수 없었어요. 어느 날 용기를 내어

I knocked at the door... Who's there? Come in. 

문을 두드렸는데... 거기 누구세요? 들어오세요.

Please excuse me, Sir. I've been travelling and I was wondering if I could rest here for a while. 

실례합니다, 선생님. 여행을 다녀왔는데 여기서 잠시 쉴 수 있을까 해서요.

Sure. I can't see and my children, who take care of me, are not here at the moment,  

확신하는. 볼 수 없고 나를 돌봐주는 아이들이 지금 여기에 없습니다.

or I'd offer you some food.  

그렇지 않으면 음식을 드릴 것입니다.

Do not worry yourself, 

걱정하지 마세요,

kind man. I'm looking for some friends and I fear these good people won't accept me. 

친절한 분. 저는 친구를 찾고 있는데 이 좋은 사람들이 저를 받아들이지 않을까 걱정됩니다.

That's sad. But if these friends are good people, can't you persuade them to accept you? 

슬프네요. 그런데 이 친구들이 좋은 사람이라면 설득해서 받아들일 수는 없을까요?

I plan to start doing it now. But they believe that I want to harm them… 

지금부터 시작할 계획이에요. 하지만 내가 자기들에게 해를 끼치고 싶어 한다고 생각하는군요…

You sound honest. I can try and help you. Who are your friends? 

솔직하게 들리네요. 제가 도와드릴 수 있습니다. 당신의 친구는 누구입니까?

Oh, Sir. You are the first person who has been kind to me! 

아, 선생님. 나에게 친절하게 대해준 사람은 당신이 처음이에요!

Just a minute... I can hear my children coming.

Oh, no! They'll see me! Please, take care of me good man! You and your family are the friends I want!

The door opened and there they were - the old
