Morning routine: Phrasal verbs with Georgie

we're learning some phrasal verbs that you can use to talk

about your morning routine.

Let's start from the beginning.

最初から始めましょう。

First my alarm goes off.

まず目覚ましが鳴ります。

Then I wake up, but I decide

それから目が覚めますが、

I have time to sleep in. After a while I wake up,

I get up and then I put on my gym clothes.

起き上がり、体操服を着ます。

I work out.

Then, after showering,

I pick out an outfit to put on.

着る服を選びます。

I get dressed and then I say "Good morning world!"

服を着て、「おはよう世界！」と言います。

OK. Now let's look at the verbs in a bit more detail.

わかりました。 では、動詞をもう少し詳しく見てみましょう 。

'Go off' means the alarm starts making a noise.

「オフ」は アラームが鳴り始めることを意味します。

The verb is mostly used with alarms, car alarms, fire alarms and alarm

clocks, for example.

時計などと一緒に使用されます。

'Wake up', a basic one, means you open your eyes and stop sleeping.

基本的な「目覚める」は、 目を開けて寝るのをやめるという意味です。

'Sleep in' means 'continue sleeping after the time

「Sleep in」とは、「通常起きている時間以降も眠り続ける」ことを意味します

you usually wake up'. Lots of people like sleeping in at the weekends.

。 週末は寝て過ごすのが好きな人が多いです。 「

Get up means stand up after being in bed.

Get up」とは、 ベッドに入った後に立ち上がることを意味します。 「

Put something on means dress yourself in something.

何かを着る」とは、何かを着るという意味です。

But be careful, because this phrasal verb can be separated by the object.

ただし、この句動詞は目的語によって区切られる可能性があるので注意してください。 「

You can say 'I put on my gym clothes' and 'I put my gym clothes on'.

体操服を着ます」 「体操服を着ます」と言うことができます。

'Work out' means 'train your body through exercise'.

「ワークアウト」とは「運動によって体を鍛える」という意味です 。

Usually in the gym, but people also like working out at home or in parks.

通常はジムで運動しますが、 自宅や公園で運動することも好きです。

'Pick something out' means 'choose something carefully'.

「pick something out」は「慎重に何かを選ぶ」という意味です。

This one can also be separated by the object.

これもオブジェクトによって分離できます 。 「

You can 'pick out an outfit', or 'pick an outfit out'.

衣装を選ぶ」ことも、「衣装を選ぶ」こともできます。

'Get dressed' means 'put on your clothes'.

「Get Dressing」は「 服を着る」という意味です。

It's similar to 'put on',

「put on」に似ていますが、

but different because you're not specifying what you're wearing.

何を着ているかを指定しないので異なります。
