Morning routine: Phrasal verbs with Georgie

Let's start from the beginning.

처음부터 시작해보자.

First my alarm goes off.

먼저 알람이 울립니다.

Then I wake up, but I decide

I have time to sleep in. After a while I wake up,

I get up and then I put on my gym clothes.

일어나 체육복을 입습니다.

I work out.

Then, after showering,

I pick out an outfit to put on.

옷을 고릅니다.

I get dressed and then I say "Good morning world!"

나는 옷을 입고 "Good morning world!"라고 말합니다.

OK. Now let's look at the verbs in a bit more detail.

'Go off' means the alarm starts making a noise.

'꺼짐'은 알람이 소리를 내기 시작한다는 의미입니다. 예를 들어

The verb is mostly used with alarms, car alarms, fire alarms and alarm

clocks, for example.

'Wake up', a basic one, means you open your eyes and stop sleeping.

'깨어나다'는 기본적인 말은 눈을 뜨고 잠을 그친다는 뜻이다.

'Sleep in' means 'continue sleeping after the time

'sleep in'은 '보통 잠에서 깬 시간 이후에도 계속 잠을 잔다'는 뜻입니다

Get up means stand up after being in bed.

Get up은 잠자리에 들었다가 일어서는 것을 의미합니다.

Put something on means dress yourself in something.

Put someone on은 뭔가를 입는다는 뜻이에요.

But be careful, because this phrasal verb can be separated by the object.

하지만 이 구동사는 목적어로 분리될 수 있으므로 주의하세요.

You can say 'I put on my gym clothes' and 'I put my gym clothes on'.

'체육복을 입었어요', '체육복을 입었어요'라고 말할 수 있어요.

'Work out' means 'train your body through exercise'.

'Work out'은 '운동을 통해 몸을 단련하다'라는 뜻입니다 .

Usually in the gym, but people also like working out at home or in parks.

일반적으로 체육관에서 운동하지만 사람들은 집이나 공원에서 운동하는 것을 좋아합니다.

'Pick something out' means 'choose something carefully'.

Pick out은 '신중하게 선택하다'라는 뜻입니다.

This one can also be separated by the object.

이것도 객체로 분리할 수 있습니다 . '

You can 'pick out an outfit', or 'pick an outfit out'.

옷을 골라라', 또는 '옷을 골라라'를 할 수 있습니다.

'Get dressed' means 'put on your clothes'.

'옷을 입다'는 ' 옷을 입다'라는 뜻이다.

It's similar to 'put on',

'put on'과 비슷

but different because you're not specifying what you're wearing.

하지만 무엇을 입고 있는지 지정하지 않기 때문에 다릅니다.
