Because of vs Due to — English Grammar #shorts

'Because of' answers the question why did  something happen. It's focused on the why  

「理由」は、なぜ 何かが起こったのかという質問に答えます。

of an action so we can say, "We canceled  the trip because of the heavy rain."  

「大雨のため旅行をキャンセルしました」と言えるように、行動の理由に焦点を当てています 。

Why was the trip canceled?  Because of the heavy rain.

However, due to answers the question what  caused something. Something is a noun

so to make this work I have to change the  verb canceled to its noun form cancellation.

"The cancellation of the  trip was due to heavy rain."

What caused the cancellation? The  heavy rain. Now we've got it right.
