In this video, we’re going to talk about the prepositions: in, on and under.

या व्हिडिओमध्ये, आम्ही प्रीपोजिशनबद्दल बोलणार आहोत: इन, ऑन आणि अंडर.

Now, we use prepositions to show ‘where’ something is.

आता, काहीतरी 'कुठे आहे' हे दाखवण्यासाठी आम्ही प्रीपोजिशन वापरतो.

So, let’s take a look at the board.

तर, चला बोर्डवर एक नजर टाकूया.

Okay, now in this picture, we have a cat.

ठीक आहे, आता या चित्रात आमच्याकडे एक मांजर आहे.

Okay, and we’re talking about this specific cat, so we have to say, “the cat”.

Okay. “…is in the box.”

The preposition is ‘in’.

The preposition ‘on’… “the chair”.

पूर्वपद 'चालू'... "खुर्ची".

“He’s on the chair.”

"तो खुर्चीवर आहे."

And the next one.

आणि पुढचा.

“The cat is ‘under’…

"मांजर

’under’ the table.”

टेबलच्या 'खाली'... 'खाली' आहे."

“…’under’ the table.”

"...'टेबलाखाली'."

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

Let’s look at the next one.

पुढचे बघू.

Now we have plural nouns.

आता आपल्याकडे अनेकवचनी संज्ञा आहेत.

“The apples ‘are’…”

"सफरचंद 'आहेत'..."

Okay. “…in the box.”

ठीक आहे. "…खोक्या मध्ये."

Again, the apples are “…’in’ the box.”

पुन्हा, सफरचंद "...'बॉक्समध्ये" आहेत.

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

Next, “The apples are ‘on’ the chair.”

पुढे, "सफरचंद खुर्चीवर 'आहेत'."

And last.

आणि शेवटचे.

“The apples are ‘under’….’under’ the table.”

"सफरचंद 'खाली'....'टेबलाखाली' आहेत."

Okay, let’s look at some more examples.

I’m going to ask you some questions.

I want you to think about which one you should use.

Okay.

“Where is the dog?”

"कुत्रा कुठे आहे?"

“Where is the dog?”

"कुत्रा कुठे आहे?"

“The dog is ‘in’ the doghouse.

“कुत्रा डॉगहाऊसमध्ये आहे.

You should use the preposition ‘in’.

तुम्ही 'इन' हे प्रीपोझिशन वापरावे.

“The dog is ‘in’ the doghouse.

“कुत्रा डॉगहाऊसमध्ये आहे.

“Where is the man?”

"माणूस कुठे आहे?"

“Where is the man?”

"माणूस कुठे आहे?"

“The man is ‘under’ the umbrella.”

"माणूस छत्रीखाली आहे."

“The man is ‘under’ the umbrella.”

"माणूस छत्रीखाली आहे."

And last.

आणि शेवटचे.

“Where are the girls?”

"मुली कुठे आहेत?"

“Where are the girls?”

"मुली कुठे आहेत?"

“The girls are ‘on’ the bridge.”

"मुली पुलावर आहेत."

“The girls are ‘on’ the bridge.”

"मुली पुलावर आहेत."

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

Let’s look at some more examples.

आणखी काही उदाहरणे पाहू.

Now, we’re going to practice asking and answering questions using: in, on and under.

आता, आम्ही वापरून प्रश्न विचारण्याचा आणि उत्तरे देण्याचा सराव करणार आहोत: in, on आणि under.

First, let’s take a look at this picture.

प्रथम, या चित्राकडे एक नजर टाकूया.

Here we have a rabbit, a chair and one, two, three snakes.

इथे एक ससा, एक खुर्ची आणि एक, दोन, तीन साप आहेत.

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

So, I will ask a question using in, on or under.

तर, मी इन, ऑन किंवा अंडर वापरून प्रश्न विचारेन.

I want you to think.

तुम्ही विचार करावा अशी माझी इच्छा आहे.

Is the answer, “Yes, it is.”

उत्तर आहे, "होय, ते आहे."

or “No, it isn’t.”

किंवा "नाही, ते नाही."

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

Let’s start with the rabbit.

चला सशापासून सुरुवात करूया.

“Is the rabbit under the chair?”

"ससा खुर्चीखाली आहे का?"

“No, it isn’t.”

"नाही, ते नाही."

“Is the rabbit in the chair?”

"ससा खुर्चीवर आहे का?"

“No, it isn’t.”

"नाही, ते नाही."

“Is the rabbit on the chair?” “…on the chair?”

"ससा खुर्चीवर आहे का?" "…खुर्चीवर?"

“Yes, it is.”

"हो, आहे."

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

Now, we’re going to move on to the snakes.

आता आपण सापांकडे जाणार आहोत.

Now, there are…there are more than one, right, so it’s plural, so we say,

आता, तेथे आहेत…एकापेक्षा जास्त आहेत, बरोबर, म्हणून ते अनेकवचनी आहे, म्हणून आपण म्हणतो,

“Are the snakes…” with an ‘s’.

“काय साप…” एक 's' सह.

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

So again, think.

Is the answer, “Yes, they are.”
