Hi, everybody.

ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the prepositions: in, on and under.

ಈ ವೀಡಿಯೊದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾವು ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ: ಇನ್, ಆನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಡರ್.

Now, we use prepositions to show ‘where’ something is.

ಈಗ, ನಾವು ಯಾವುದನ್ನಾದರೂ 'ಎಲ್ಲಿ' ತೋರಿಸಲು ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

So, let’s take a look at the board.

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಅನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ.

Okay, now in this picture, we have a cat.

ಸರಿ, ಈಗ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾವು ಬೆಕ್ಕು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

Okay, and we’re talking about this specific cat, so we have to say, “the cat”.

ಸರಿ, ಮತ್ತು ನಾವು ಈ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಬೆಕ್ಕಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು "ಬೆಕ್ಕು" ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು.

Okay. “…is in the box.”

The preposition is ‘in’.

ಪೂರ್ವಪದವು 'ಇನ್' ಆಗಿದೆ.

“He’s ‘in’ the box.” “…’in’ the box.”

"ಅವನು ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ." "…'ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ."

Okay.

And the next one.

ಸರಿ.

ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂದಿನದು.

“The cat is on…”

"ಬೆಕ್ಕು ಆನ್ ಆಗಿದೆ..."

The preposition ‘on’… “the chair”.

ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿ 'ಆನ್'... "ಕುರ್ಚಿ".

“He’s on the chair.”

"ಅವನು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ."

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

And the next one.

ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂದಿನದು.

“The cat is ‘under’…

"ಬೆಕ್ಕು 'ಕೆಳಗೆ'...

’under’ the table.”

'ಮೇಜಿನ ಕೆಳಗೆ' ಇದೆ."

“…’under’ the table.”

"…'ಮೇಜಿನ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ."

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

Let’s look at the next one.

ಮುಂದಿನದನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ.

Now we have plural nouns.

ಈಗ ನಾವು ಬಹುವಚನ ನಾಮಪದಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

“The apples ‘are’…”

"ಸೇಬುಗಳು 'ಅವು'..."

Okay. “…in the box.”

ಸರಿ. "…ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ."

Again, the apples are “…’in’ the box.”

ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ, ಸೇಬುಗಳು "...' ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ."

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

Next, “The apples are ‘on’ the chair.”

ಮುಂದೆ, “ಸೇಬುಗಳು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇವೆ.”

And last.

ಮತ್ತು ಕೊನೆಯದು.

“The apples are ‘under’….’under’ the table.”

"ಸೇಬುಗಳು 'ಕೆಳಗೆ'....'ಮೇಜಿನ ಕೆಳಗೆ' ಇವೆ."

Okay, let’s look at some more examples.

ಸರಿ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ.

Okay, let’s look at some pictures to help us understand the prepositions:

ಸರಿ, ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಕೆಲವು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ:

in, on, and under.

ಇನ್, ಆನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಡರ್.

I’m going to ask you some questions.

ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

I want you to think about which one you should use.

ನೀವು ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಬಳಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದರ ಕುರಿತು ನೀವು ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

“Where is the dog?”

"ನಾಯಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ?"

“Where is the dog?”

"ನಾಯಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ?"

“The dog is ‘in’ the doghouse.

“ನಾಯಿಯು ನಾಯಿಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

You should use the preposition ‘in’.

ನೀವು ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿಯಾಗಿ 'ಇನ್' ಅನ್ನು ಬಳಸಬೇಕು.

“The dog is ‘in’ the doghouse.

“ನಾಯಿಯು ನಾಯಿಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

“Where is the man?”

"ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ?"

“Where is the man?”

"ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ?"

“The man is ‘under’ the umbrella.”

"ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಛತ್ರಿಯ ಕೆಳಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ."

“The man is ‘under’ the umbrella.”

"ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಛತ್ರಿಯ ಕೆಳಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ."

And last.

ಮತ್ತು ಕೊನೆಯದು.

“Where are the girls?”

"ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ?"

“Where are the girls?”

"ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ?"

“The girls are ‘on’ the bridge.”

"ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಸೇತುವೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ."

“The girls are ‘on’ the bridge.”

"ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಸೇತುವೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ."

Okay.

Let’s look at some more examples.

ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ.

Now, we’re going to practice asking and answering questions using: in, on and under.

ಈಗ, ನಾವು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಲು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ: ಇನ್, ಆನ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಡರ್.

First, let’s take a look at this picture.

ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ, ಈ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ.

Here we have a rabbit, a chair and one, two, three snakes.

ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಮೊಲ, ಕುರ್ಚಿ ಮತ್ತು ಒಂದು, ಎರಡು, ಮೂರು ಹಾವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

So, I will ask a question using in, on or under.

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಾನು ಒಳಗೆ, ಮೇಲೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಳಸಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.

I want you to think.

ನೀವು ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

Is the answer, “Yes, it is.”

"ಹೌದು, ಅದು" ಎಂಬ ಉತ್ತರವಿದೆ.

or “No, it isn’t.”

ಅಥವಾ "ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಅಲ್ಲ."

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

Let’s start with the rabbit.

ಮೊಲದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸೋಣ.

“Is the rabbit under the chair?”

"ಮೊಲವು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಇದೆಯೇ?"

“No, it isn’t.”

"ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಅಲ್ಲ."

“Is the rabbit in the chair?”

"ಮೊಲವು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆಯೇ?"

“No, it isn’t.”

"ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಅಲ್ಲ."

“Is the rabbit on the chair?” “…on the chair?”

"ಮೊಲವು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಮೇಲಿದೆಯೇ?" "...ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ?"

“Yes, it is.”

"ಹೌದು, ಅದು."

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

Now, we’re going to move on to the snakes.

ಈಗ ನಾವು ಹಾವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ.

Now, there are…there are more than one, right, so it’s plural, so we say,

ಈಗ, ಇವೆ ... ಒಂದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಇವೆ, ಸರಿ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇದು ಬಹುವಚನವಾಗಿದೆ, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು

“Are the snakes…” with an ‘s’.

"ಹಾವುಗಳು..." ಎಂದು 's' ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇವೆ.

Okay.

ಸರಿ.

So again, think.

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ, ಯೋಚಿಸಿ.

Is the answer, “Yes, they are.”

"ಹೌದು, ಅವರೇ" ಎಂಬ ಉತ್ತರವಿದೆ.

or “No, they aren’t.”

ಅಥವಾ "ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲ."

“Are the snakes in the chair?”

"ಹಾವುಗಳು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆಯೇ?"

“No, they aren’t.”

"ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲ."

“Are the snakes on the chair?”

"ಹಾವುಗಳು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದೆಯೇ?"

“No, they aren’t.”

"ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲ."

“Are the snakes under the chair?”

"ಹಾವುಗಳು ಕುರ್ಚಿಯ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಇದೆಯೇ?"

“Yes, they are.”

"ಹೌದು, ಅವರೇ."
