HUMID | Learn English Vocabulary Meaning, Grammar, and Usage in Example English Sentences

And in this video, I'm going to teach you a very important English word.

এবং এই ভিডিওতে, আমি আপনাকে একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ইংরেজি শব্দ শেখাতে যাচ্ছি।

Now, everybody in Korea should know this word because it gets this way every summer in Korea,

right?

Well not just in the summer, but also in some other seasons.

And that word that we're going to learn today is ‘humid’.

এবং যে শব্দটি আমরা আজ শিখতে যাচ্ছি তা হল 'আর্দ্র'।

Again, ‘humid’.

আবার 'আদ্র'।

So this word, you need to know it,

and you especially need to mention this word

when you describe Korea's weather to any foreigners, Okay.

Well, what does ‘humid’ mean?

Well again, ‘humid’ is used to describe weather.

আবার, 'আর্দ্র' আবহাওয়া বর্ণনা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

It means that it's very wet and hot, right?

এর মানে এটা খুব ভিজা এবং গরম, তাই না?

You know what I mean.

So even my best friend, she comes to Korea every year from Southern California,

But there are some other ways to say the same thing.

Instead of ‘humid’,

we can say a couple of other words.

আমরা আরও কয়েকটি শব্দ বলতে পারি।

For example, we can say, “Today is very muggy.”

উদাহরণস্বরূপ, আমরা বলতে পারি, "আজ খুব নোংরা।"

“Today is very muggy.”

"আজ খুব নোংরা।"

Okay, ‘muggy’ means humid.

ঠিক আছে, 'মগি' মানে আর্দ্র।

Again, hot and wet.

We can also say, “Today is very sticky.”

“Today is very sticky.”

So ‘humid’, ‘muggy’, and ‘sticky’ all have the same meaning when you're describing

Now, I told you that where I'm from it's not humid, it's hot, but it's not humid,

Okay, so in this video we learned the word ‘humid’.
