We’re going to talk about how to use ‘these’ and ‘those’.

আমরা কীভাবে 'এই' এবং 'ওইগুলি' ব্যবহার করব সে সম্পর্কে কথা বলতে যাচ্ছি।

Uhhh, just like we learned with ‘this’ and ‘that’,

উহহ, ঠিক যেমন আমরা 'এই' এবং 'ওটা' দিয়ে শিখেছি,

we use ‘these’ and ‘those’ to talk about nouns that are close to us

আমরা 'এই' এবং 'ওই' ব্যবহার করি বিশেষ্যগুলি সম্পর্কে কথা বলতে যা আমাদের কাছাকাছি

or far from us.

বা আমাদের থেকে দূরে।

Okay.

ঠিক আছে.

So, let’s take a look at the board.

সুতরাং, এর বোর্ড কটাক্ষপাত করা যাক.

Now, we know if there is just one,

and it’s close to us,

we say, “This is a flower”.

Okay.

But there’s more than one.

It’s plural.

Now, I change the ‘be’ verb to ‘are’

and I added an ‘s’ at the end of ‘flower’.

So, “These are flowers.”

Okay.

Now, there’s one that’s far away.

We say, “That is a flower.”

But, again, there’s more than one.

There are two flowers.

দুটি ফুল আছে।

So, in that case, we use, “Those are flowers.”

They’re far away.

“Those are flowers.”

Let’s look at these.

Let’s move on to the next part.

এর পরের অংশে যাওয়া যাক।

So we know “These are flowers”.

তাই আমরা জানি "এগুলো ফুল"।

They’re close by.

তারা কাছাকাছি আছে.

And for the flowers that are far away, we say,

আর যে ফুলগুলো দূরে থাকে তাদের জন্য আমরা বলি,

“Those are flowers”.

“ওগুলো ফুল”।

Okay.

ঠিক আছে.

But over here we have ‘chairs’.

কিন্তু এখানে আমাদের 'চেয়ার' আছে।

So, we have to use the negative.

সুতরাং, আমাদের নেতিবাচক ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

Okay.

ঠিক আছে.

We use the contraction ‘aren’t’

আমরা ' aren't' সংকোচন ব্যবহার করি

which is short for ‘are not’.

যা 'are not'-এর জন্য সংক্ষিপ্ত।

“These aren’t flowers.”

"এগুলো ফুল নয়।"

“These aren’t flowers.

“এগুলো ফুল নয়।

Okay, and for the chairs that are far away,

ঠিক আছে, এবং দূরে যে চেয়ারগুলির জন্য,

we say, “Those aren’t flowers”.

আমরা বলি, "এগুলি ফুল নয়"।

“Those aren’t flowers.”

"এগুলো ফুল নয়।"

Okay, and let’s try with the markers.

Okay, and far away.

Okay, let’s move on to the next part.

Okay, now we’re going to make some questions.

We know, “These are flowers”.

When you want to make a question, you have to change

আপনি যখন একটি প্রশ্ন করতে চান, আপনাকে

‘these are’ and put the ‘be’ verb first.

'এগুলো' পরিবর্তন করতে হবে এবং প্রথমে 'হবে' ক্রিয়াটি রাখতে হবে।

So, it becomes, “Are these flowers?”.

“Are these flowers?”

And the answer is “Yes, they are.”

Okay, now the flowers are far away.

And again, the answer is “Yes, they are.”

Okay. Now here, we have chairs.

The answer is “No, they aren’t.”

Okay, now they’re far away.

"এগুলো কি ফুল?"

And again, the answer is “No, they aren’t.”

How about these? “Are these markers?”

এগুলো কেমন? "এগুলো কি মার্কার?"

“Yes, they are.”

"হ্যা তারা."

“Are those markers?”

"সেগুলো কি মার্কার?"

“Yes, they are.”

"হ্যা তারা."

“Are these pens?”

"এগুলো কি কলম?"

“No, they aren’t.”

"না, তারা নয়।"

“Are those pens?”

"এগুলো কি কলম?"

“No, they aren’t.”

"না, তারা নয়।"

Okay, so in this video, we learned how to use ‘these’ and ‘those’.
