We’re going to talk about how to use ‘these’ and ‘those’.

'이것들'과 '저것들'의 사용법에 대해 이야기하겠습니다.

Uhhh, just like we learned with ‘this’ and ‘that’,

어, 'this'와 'that'에서 배웠던 것처럼,

we use ‘these’ and ‘those’ to talk about nouns that are close to us

'these'와 'those'를 사용하여 우리에게 가깝거나

or far from us.

멀리 있는 명사에 대해 이야기합니다.

Okay.

So, let’s take a look at the board.

그럼, 보드를 살펴보겠습니다.

Now, we know if there is just one,

이제 우리는 단 한 송이만 있고

and it’s close to us,

그것이 우리 가까이에 있는지

we say, “This is a flower”.

를 알고 “이것은 꽃이다”라고 말합니다.

Okay.

좋아요.

But there’s more than one.

하지만 하나 이상이 있습니다.

It’s plural.

복수형입니다.

So we have to say, “These”.

그러므로 우리는 “이것들”이라고 말해야 합니다.

“These are flowers.”

“이것들은 꽃이에요.”

Again, more than one.

다시 말하지만, 하나 이상입니다.

Now, I change the ‘be’ verb to ‘are’

이제 'be' 동사를 'are'로 바꾸고

and I added an ‘s’ at the end of ‘flower’.

'flower' 끝에 's'를 추가했습니다.

So, “These are flowers.”

그래서 “이것들은 꽃이에요.”

Okay.

Now, there’s one that’s far away.

자, 멀리 있는 것이 하나 있습니다.

We say, “That is a flower.”

우리는 “저건 꽃이에요.”라고 말합니다.

But, again, there’s more than one.

그러나 다시 한 번 말씀드리지만, 한 가지 이상이 있습니다.

There are two flowers.

꽃이 두 개 있어요.

So, in that case, we use, “Those are flowers.”

그래서 그런 경우에는 “Those are flowers.”라고 사용합니다.

“Those are flowers.”

“저거 꽃이에요.”

They’re far away.

그들은 멀리 떨어져 있습니다.

“Those are flowers.”

“저거 꽃이에요.”

Let’s look at these.

이것들을 살펴보자.

“This is a marker.”

“이것은 마커입니다.”

“These are markers.”

“이것들은 마커입니다.”

“That is a marker.”

“그것은 마커입니다.”

“Those are markers.”

“저거 마커야.”

Okay.

Let’s move on to the next part.

다음 부분으로 넘어 갑시다.

So we know “These are flowers”.

그래서 우리는 “이것이 꽃이다”라는 것을 압니다.

They’re close by.

그들은 가까이에 있습니다.

And for the flowers that are far away, we say,

그리고 멀리 있는 꽃에 대해서는

“Those are flowers”.

'저것은 꽃이다'라고 말합니다.

Okay.

But over here we have ‘chairs’.

하지만 여기에는 '의자'가 있습니다.

So, we have to use the negative.

We use the contraction ‘aren’t’

'are not'을 줄여서

which is short for ‘are not’.

'aren't'라는 축약

“These aren’t flowers.”

형을 사용합니다 . “이것은 꽃이 아닙니다.”

“These aren’t flowers.

“이것은 꽃이 아닙니다.

Okay, and for the chairs that are far away,

좋아, 그리고 멀리 있는 의자에 대해서는

we say, “Those aren’t flowers”.

"그건 꽃이 아니야"라고 말하죠.

“Those aren’t flowers.”

“그건 꽃이 아니네요.”

Okay, and let’s try with the markers.

좋습니다. 마커를 사용해 보겠습니다.

“These aren’t pens.”

“이것은 펜이 아닙니다.”

“These aren’t pens.”

“이것은 펜이 아닙니다.”

Okay, and far away.

좋아요, 멀리 있어요.

“Those aren’t pens.”

“그건 펜이 아니야.”

“Those aren’t pens.”

“그건 펜이 아니야.”

Okay, let’s move on to the next part.

좋아요, 다음 부분으로 넘어가겠습니다.

Okay, now we’re going to make some questions.

좋아요, 이제 우리는 몇 가지 질문을 할 것입니다.

We know, “These are flowers”.

우리는 “이것이 꽃이다”라는 것을 알고 있습니다.

When you want to make a question, you have to change

의문문을 만들려면

‘these are’ and put the ‘be’ verb first.

'these are'를 바꾸고 'be' 동사를 먼저 넣어야 합니다.

So, it becomes, “Are these flowers?”.

그러면 “이것이 꽃인가요?”가 됩니다.

“Are these flowers?”

“이게 꽃이에요?”

And the answer is “Yes, they are.”

그리고 대답은 "그렇습니다."입니다.

Okay, now the flowers are far away.

자, 이제 꽃은 멀리 갔습니다.

So we say, “Are those flowers?”.

그래서 우리는 “저게 꽃인가요?”라고 말합니다.

“Are those flowers?”

“그게 꽃이에요?”

And again, the answer is “Yes, they are.”

그리고 다시 대답은 “그렇습니다.”입니다.

Okay. Now here, we have chairs.

“Are these flowers?”

The answer is “No, they aren’t.”

Okay, now they’re far away.

And again, the answer is “No, they aren’t.”

“No, they aren’t.”

“Are those pens?”

“No, they aren’t.”
