The Most Confusing English Word: GET

GET is an irregular verb.  Its simple past form is GOT  

GET은 불규칙 동사입니다. 단순 과거형은 GOT

and the past participle is  GOTTEN for AmE and GOT for BrE.

이고 과거 분사는 AmE의 경우 GOTTEN이고 BrE의 경우 GOT입니다.

Another important aspect that learners should  take into account is that as a single word,  

학습자가 고려해야 할 또 다른 중요한 측면은 GET 동사가 한 단어로

the verb GET is not strong, it is hard to  make sense out of it. On the other hand,  

강하지 않아 이해하기 어렵다는 것입니다. 반면에

it’s when it’s combined with other words  that you can really understand its meaning.

That said, now let’s take a look at  the most common uses for the verb GET.

- I(‘ve) got, indicates possession  and is used in the same way as have.  

- I('ve) got, 소유를 나타내며 have와 같은 방식으로 사용됩니다. 무언가를 해야 할 때를 위해

You can also add the preposition TO (I’ve go to),  

전치사 TO(I've go to)를 추가할 수도 있습니다

Get = You use get when you receive, obtain  or buy something. Let’s explore the examples:

Get = 무언가를 받거나 얻거나 구매할 때 get을 사용합니다 . 예를 살펴보겠습니다.

Get + Object pronoun = You can use  get + a person to say that you want  

Get + 객체 대명사 = get + 사람을 사용하여

them to bring you something or  that they gave you something.

그들이 당신에게 무언가를 가져다주기를 원하거나 그들이 당신에게 무언가를 주었다고 말할 수 있습니다.

Example: Could you get me some  chocolate from the shop on the corner?

Get can be used with a verb in the past  participle to form passive sentences.

In this case, get replaces verb to  be. Let’s check out some examples:

One of the most common uses of get  is to mean to arrive or reach a point

Get past something = means to be able  to stop something from affecting you,

Get (a)round to (something)  = This means to do something

Get By = to be able to live or deal  with a situation with difficulty,  

Get By =

usually by having just  enough of something you need

Get carried away = to become so  excited or involved in something  

Get away = 흥분하거나 무언가에 관여하여 감정이나 행동을

Get over = Here, we’re going to cover three  different meanings of get over. First,  

Get over = 여기 , 우리는 get over의 세 가지 다른 의미를 다룰 것입니다. 첫째,

it means to successfully deal with a problem  or difficulty. Pay attention to these examples:

문제나 어려움을 성공적으로 처리하는 것을 의미합니다 . 다음 예에 주의를 기울이세요.

Second, we use get over to say that  we become well again after an illness. 

둘째, get over를 사용하여 병이 나았다가 다시 나아졌다고 말합니다.

Example: It took her about  a week to get over the flu.

예: 그녀가 독감을 극복하는 데 약 일주일이 걸렸습니다.

And finally, we use get over when you begin to  feel better after a very unpleasant experience. 

그리고 마지막으로 매우 불쾌한 경험 후에 기분이 나아지기 시작할 때 get over를 사용합니다.

Example: It took Joe quite a long  time to get over the divorce.

You(’ve) got me there = If you  say, you(‘ve) got me there,  

You('ve) got me there = 당신이 ' you('ve) got me there'라고 말하면

you mean you do not know an answer or  don’t have a solution to something.

Let’s start with a short story:
