oh thank you so much i forgot mine  at home and I can't work without it

yeah I guess so i can own your  mind whenever you need it that's

okay thanks jason are you  okay you look really tired man

yeah I mean the typical day you  know work stress I don't know i  

mean not really i feel like I'm  carrying the whole world on my

back i'm always thinking always worrying  i'm exhausted Mark that's the truth

that doesn't sound good what's going on work

stuff work yes but also my life i mean my life  

outside work honestly it's like I don't  have a break anymore i wake up already

tired my head is full of worries  that's why I feel very tired I

suppose oh I see but tell me bro what's making  you feel this way well where do I start first  

the mortage of my house it's huge every month I  have to pay a big amount like hundreds of dollars

bro then I bought a new car for the  family last year it was supposed to be a

blessing but the monthly payments are  killing me i didn't think of that when I got

it and that's not even the worst part  my two kids go to a private school

i mean the education is great  and I want the best for them but

man the monthly fee is more than  what some people earned in a month

seriously wow that's a lot already  house car school that's a lot  

and that's not all also we have  our annual family trip coming

up we always travel outside the  country my wife loves planning

vacations and I don't want to disappoint  them but it's so expensive a lot of

money flights hotel shopping  food it's a big bill that's the

thing that's a heavy load my friend but  there must be something you can do about

it and it doesn't end there my wife  wants new furniture for the living  

room our sofa is fine but she saw  something online and now she wants

it then it's clothes for the  kids new shoes new jackets new

backpacks and of course we only buy  organic food so our grocery bill is  

crazy high every week man no wonder  you're stressed that's a mountain of

responsibilities exactly i work extra  hours weekends even skip lunch sometimes  

just to catch up but no matter how  much I earn it never never feels

enough i just want to give them the best life but

sometimes sometimes I feel like I'm not  really living mine that's what I'm feeling

listen Jason I'm really sorry you feel this way

seriously I can see you're a good  father and a great husband you love your

family and you want to give  them the best but can I say

something of course please i need to  hear something different just tell me  

i think maybe you're giving too much  and not just giving trying too hard

you're trying too hard to give  things instead of experiences

maybe maybe it's time to ask do they need  the best of everything or just more of

you i I don't think I understand what  you're trying to say what do you mean

look let's talk about the  house yes paying a mortgage is

normal but maybe just maybe you  don't need the biggest or fanciest

house maybe downsizing to something  smaller could give you more more peace

downsizing to something smaller um but the

kids kids don't care about big houses  they care about happiness inside the house

if their dad is always tired sad and  angry the house becomes a prison not  

a home and the car does it have to be  brand new you can get a used car safe  

and clean with no big payments  it still takes you from A to B

well that's true we don't even drive that

much exactly and the private  school of course we want good

education but have you checked the public  school in your area my kids go there

or a cheaper private school maybe  it's still great but half the

price yeah I understand now what you  mean but I wanted them to be proud Jason  

they will be proud of the  father who is present not just

busy they will remember the days you  played with them not the price of their

shoes you're really making me think  Mark many things you say make sense

that's the idea and about the  vacation why always travel

abroad why not a nice family weekend and  

um a cabin nearby or a road trip kids love  that and you don't come back broke and stressed

yeah maybe I've been doing  too much to make things look

perfect exactly life is not about  showing off it's about feeling

peace your wife may want new furniture  but maybe talk to her be honest  

say "Let's wait 6 months or find  something cheaper." Real love

understands and about the organic  food buy what you can afford

a healthy home starts with  love and louder not expensive

food jason you are my friend and I  hate seeing you like this you're not a

robot you're not a bank you're  a man a father a husband

you deserve to breathe to  rest to laugh think about it

please yeah I get that but what  if what if my family doesn't

understand they will just explain  say I love you i want to give you

everything but not if it destroys my  health maybe your wife cries maybe the  

kids get sad but in time they'll understand  and they'll love you even more thanks Mark  

i really needed this talk i've been feeling so

trapped you're not alone brother  i'll tell you many people feel the

same but you can choose a different  path a simpler life a happier life

it's okay to say no it's okay to rest please never  

forget these words i'm going to go home  and talk to my wife tonight i want to

change i want to enjoy my family  not just work for them thank you
