The Wolf and the Crane

늑대와 학

A wolf had been feasting too greedily, and  a bone had stuck crosswise in his throat.  

늑대가 너무 탐욕스럽게 잔치를 벌이다가 뼈 하나가 그의 목에 십자 모양으로 걸렸습니다.

He could get it neither up nor down and, of  course, he could not eat a thing. Naturally,  

그는 그것을 위로도 아래로도 움직일 수 없었고, 당연히 아무것도 먹을 수 없었습니다. 당연히

that was an awful state of affairs for a greedy  wolf, so away he hurried to the crane. He was  

탐욕스러운 늑대에게는 끔찍한 일이었을 테니 그는 서둘러 크레인으로 달려갔다. 그는

sure that she with her long neck and bill would  easily be able to reach the bone and pull it out.

그녀의 긴 목과 부리로 쉽게 뼈에 닿아 뽑아낼 수 있을 것이라고 확신했다.

"I will reward you very handsomely," said  the wolf, "if you pull that bone out for me."

"그 뼈를 꺼내 주면 아주 후하게 보상해 줄게 ." 늑대가 말했다.

The crane, as you can imagine, was very uneasy  about putting her head in a wolf's throat,  

학은 상상할 수 있듯이 늑대의 목에 머리를 넣는 것이 매우 불안했지만,

but she was grasping in nature, so  she did what the wolf asked her to  

본능적으로 욕심을 부리는 편이었기 때문에 늑대가 시키는 대로 했습니다

"But what about my reward?"  called the crane anxiously.

"What?" snarled the wolf, whirling  around. "Haven't you got it? Isn't  

"무엇?" 늑대가 으르렁거리며 돌아다녔다. "그걸 다 알고 있니?

it enough that I let you take your head  out of my mouth without snapping it off?"

내가 네 머리를 내 입에서 빼내도 깨지지 않는 걸 보면 충분하지 않니?"
