First, let's talk about the pronunciation changes.

먼저 발음 변화에 대해 이야기 해 봅시다.

Let's talk about is such a native speakers.

그런 원어민에 대해 이야기 해 봅시다.

We often combine our words together, which  makes it sound like we're speaking really fast.

우리는 종종 단어를 결합하여 매우 빠르게 말하는 것처럼 들리게 됩니다.

So I have is such a, and I  can combine those together.

그래서 저는 다음과 같은 것을 가지고 있고, 그것들을 함께 결합할 수 있습니다.

Is such a, is such a, is such  a, is such a, is such a pain.

Is such a pain.

What does it mean to describe something as a pain?

무언가를 고통으로 묘사한다는 것은 무엇을 의미합니까?

We have a great expression in English  to be a pain in the neck, in the neck,  

영어에는 pain in the neck, in the neck이라는 훌륭한 표현이 있는데,

and this simply means that  something is very annoying.

이것은 단순히 뭔가가 매우 짜증스럽다는 뜻입니다.

In this expression.

이 표현에서는.

Most native speakers will leave out in the  neck and just describe something as a pain,  

대부분의 원어민은 목을 생략하고 그냥 고통이라고 표현하는데, 그런 고통을

and then you can emphasize that by saying  such a pain, which makes it sound stronger.

말함으로써 그것을 강조할 수 있어서 더 강하게 들리게 됩니다.

So in this sentence I'm saying that  parking downtown is very annoying.

그래서 이 문장에서는 시내에 주차하는 것이 매우 짜증난다는 뜻입니다.

Now, we also use this to be a pain.

자, 우리는 이것을 고통으로 사용하기도 합니다.

We use this frequently to describe people.

우리는 사람을 묘사할 때 이 표현을 자주 사용합니다.

To say that someone is very annoying.

누군가를 매우 짜증나게 한다는 말.

Maybe a coworker, maybe a relative.

직장 동료일 수도 있고, 친척일 수도 있습니다.

Maybe a friend, a classmate, a roommate.

어쩌면 친구, 동급생, 룸메이트일 수도 있습니다.

So let's listen to these clips and notice how  all of these clips are with someone is a pain.

그러니 이 클립을 듣고 이 모든 클립이 누군가와 함께 있다는 것이 얼마나 고통스러운지 알아봅시다.

Some mom is such a pain.

어떤 엄마는 너무 고통 스럽습니다.

Men are such a pain.

남자들은 정말 고통 스럽습니다.

She's such a pain.

그녀는 정말 고통 스럽습니다.

She's so sad.

그녀는 너무 슬퍼요.

Now you might be thinking that studying English  is such a pain, but hopefully my videos help

I said.

나는 말했다.

We had a blast last night.

우리는 어젯밤에 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.

Notice how had a, sounds like one word.

a,가 한 단어처럼 들리는 것에 주목하세요.

Had a, had a, we had a, we had A  and noticed how blast and last.

a가 있었고, a가 있었고, 우리는 a가 있었고, 얼마나 폭발적이고 지속되는지 알았습니다.

You don't hear the T in them last  last night, but you hear the T in  

어젯밤에는 T가 들리지 않았지만 밤 에는 T가 들립니다.

night because at the end of a sentence  I'm going to take a pause naturally.

왜냐하면 문장이 끝날 때 자연스럽게 잠시 쉬게 되기 때문입니다.

So I can pronounce that because  it forces me to take a pause,  

그래서 일시 정지를 강요하기 때문에 발음할 수

but I'm already taking a pause  because there's a period.

있지만 마침표가 있기 때문에 이미 일시 정지를 하고 있습니다 .

But in the sentence, if a word ends on T,  

하지만 문장에서 단어가 T로 끝나는 경우, 잠시 멈추는 것을 피하기 위해

we often don't pronounce it to  avoid having to take that pause.

우리는 종종 그 단어를 발음하지 않습니다 .

So instead of blast last night, I can say blast  

그래서 어젯밤에 블라스트 대신 어젯밤에 블라스트라고 말하고

last night and either pronounce  it very softly or just not at all.

매우 부드럽게 발음하거나 전혀 발음하지 않을 수 있습니다.

What does this mean?

이것은 무엇을 의미 하는가?

Well, a blast that means you  had an enjoyable, exciting time.

글쎄요, 즐거운 시간을 보냈다는 의미입니다. 즐거운 시간을 보냈다는 뜻의

So it's another way of  saying you had a great time.

또 다른 표현입니다 .

We had a blast at the party, We  had a great time at the party.

우리는 파티에서 신나는 시간을 보냈습니다. 우리는 파티에서 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.

If someone asks you how  was the party or any event,  

누군가가 당신에게 파티나 어떤 행사가 어땠는지 묻는다면,

you can say it was a blast to be a blast  and you're describing the party as a blast.

당신은 파티를 폭발적이었다고 묘사하는 것이 즐거웠다고 말할 수 있습니다 .

It was a blast.

그것은 폭발적이었습니다.

Or you can say we had a blast.

아니면 우리가 폭발적이었다고 말할 수도 있습니다.

So you can use this as to be  a blast or to have a blast.

따라서 이것을 폭발적이거나 폭발적인 느낌으로 사용할 수 있습니다.

Oh, yeah.

For pronunciation.

발음을 위해.

Notice that four is an unstressed.

4는 스트레스를 받지 않는다는 점에 주목하세요.

Fur.

Fur, thanks.

털.

Thanks for the invite, thanks for the invite  and notice how invite the stress is on in.

초대해 주셔서 감사합니다. 초대해 주셔서 감사합니다. 초대 에 강세가 어떻게 표시되는지 확인하세요.

That's the stress syllable Dada.

이것이 강세 음절인 Dada입니다.

Invite, invite thanks for the  invite and that's because in  

Invite, 초대해 주셔서 감사합니다.

this case invite is a noun and that's  why the stress is on the 1st syllable.

이 경우 Invitation은 명사이고 첫 번째 음절에 강세를 두기 때문입니다.

Invite is short form for invitation.

초대는 초대의 약어입니다.

Of course you know the noun invitation.

물론 당신은 명사 초대를 알고 있습니다.

Native speakers, we commonly  reduce this to invite,  

원어민 여러분, 우리는 일반적으로 이를 초대로 줄여서 사용하지만,

but of course the verb form  to invite already exists.

물론 초대라는 동사 형태는 이미 존재합니다.

But notice for the verb, the stressed syllable  is the second syllable da, da, invite, invite.

하지만 동사에 주목하세요. 강세가 있는 음절은 두 번째 음절 da, da, Invitation, Invitation입니다.

That's the verb invite invite.

그것은 동사 초대 초대입니다.

That's the noun.

그것은 명사입니다.

This isn't an official noun.

이것은 공식적인 명사가 아닙니다.

It's simply the short form of the word invitation.

그것은 단순히 초대라는 단어의 짧은 형식입니다.

But native speakers love using it.

하지만 원어민들은 그것을 사용하는 것을 좋아합니다.

Let's compare these two sentences, one  with the verb and one with the noun.

이 두 문장을 비교해 보겠습니다. 하나는 동사이고 다른 하나는 명사입니다.

Thanks for inviting me.

초대해주셔서 감사합니다.

Thanks for the invite.

초대 해주셔서 감사합니다.

Both are commonly used by native speakers.

둘 다 원어민이 일반적으로 사용합니다.

Oh, thanks for inviting me,  but thank you for the invite.

아, 초대해 주셔서 감사합니다. 초대해 주셔서 감사합니다.

Thanks for the invite, by the way.

초대해 주셔서 감사합니다.

Let's try one more listening test.

I'll say it three times.

Did you get this one?

I said you got all worked up for nothing.

Notice how got all the T is between 2 vowels.

2개의 모음 사이에 T가 모두 있는 것을 확인하세요.

So I'll pronounce this as a very soft D,  

그래서 저는 이것을 매우 부드러운 D로 발음하겠습니다.

but I have to combine them together so  you're going to hear the D on both sounds.

하지만 두 소리 모두에서 D를 들을 수 있도록 이들을 결합해야 합니다.

God all God all God all got all work done.

The past simple pronunciation is worked.

Notice that T worked, but when I  combine it with work top worked up.

I'm going to link these together and you're going

to hear that T in front of up  work top, work top 4, nothing.

We already talked about  four fur and unstressed fur.

Now let's talk about what this  means to get or be worked up.

This is when you're either very upset  or very excited about something.

So it could be for a negative  emotion or a positive emotion,

but it's important that it's a strong  negative or positive emotion and for nothing.

This means for no reason.

So you became very upset or you became  very excited for no reason for nothing.

Let's talk about the more negative emotion.

Let's say you heard a rumor at your  company that they were going to fire

everyone because the company was going bankrupt.

And you get all worked up, you get really angry  and upset and you have this strong emotion.

But I tell you that you shouldn't listen  to a rumor, that it's probably nothing.

And then you find out that in fact the  company is not in financial trouble.

그러다가 사실 회사가 재정적인 어려움을 겪고 있지 않다는 사실을 알게 되었습니다.

So then I could say, see, I told you,  you got all worked up for nothing.

Now let's do an imitation exercise so  you can practice these pronunciation

changes and you can practice  speaking at a faster pace.

I'm going to say each sentence again  three times, and I want you to repeat

each sentence out loud and imitate my  pronunciation as closely as possible.
